SupportI think I spotted a bit of posterization here and there, but it's really well made imho. --El Grafo (talk) 09:30, 13 May 2020 (UTC)- Support Highlight is the Notre Dame de Paris when it was complete. Nice ambient video -- PantheraLeo1359531 😺 (talk) 15:09, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

- Comment Can we verify that the recording of Nocturne in F minor, Op. 55, No. 1 used by the creator of the video is freely licensed? If not, we may need to edit the video to substitute in a free equivalent such as File:Chopin - Nocturne-op-55-no-1.ogg. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 16:21, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
OpposePutting quick promotion on hold while requesting more eyes: @Paris 16, El Grafo, PantheraLeo1359531, Der Wolf im Wald, and Andrew J.Kurbiko: Thoughts? -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 17:11, 18 May 2020 (UTC)- I've found the recording on the YouTube and I think it's OK. You can also upload a new version of Nocturne, Op. 55 to Commons.--Paris 16 (talk) 17:36, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Paris 16: Ah, the timing matches perfectly, just with a middle section edited out it seems. In that case the sound is almost certainly non-free, as Brigitte Engerer is a famous pianist who lived from 1952 to 2012 with no evidence that she released any of her recordings under a free license. The sound will need to be replaced. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 17:47, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- But you can see on YouTube: "Licensed to YouTube by: Harmonia Mundi (on behalf of harmonia mundi); Public Domain Compositions, and 8 Music Rights Societies".--Paris 16 (talk) 18:03, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- "Public Domain Compositions" - Chopin has been dead for 170 years. There is a separate copyright for the performance and recording. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 18:09, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

- Comment I just took a stab at editing the audio, and it looks like there are significant timing differences between our free version and Engerer's which complicates things a bit. I might relearn this piece and try to record it myself at a tempo that matches the video. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 03:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
Oppose now, unfortunately.--El Grafo (talk) 08:17, 19 May 2020 (UTC)- Support I saw this before reading the above, and the music did not strike me as problematic/distracting. My one request: could someone more familiar with Paris than me please add some TimedText labels that say where these locations are? (a few are obvious, but not others [at least for me]) — Rhododendrites talk | 20:33, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Rhododendrites: The problem is not that the music is distracting, but that it is non-free, making the video non-free. Don't worry, I plan to make a recording myself and have it ready by the end of the week. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 20:48, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- Ohhh I misunderstood I just took a stab at editing the audio -- I thought it had already been replaced. No wonder it sounds good. :) Well consider my support conditional per above, of course. — Rhododendrites talk | 20:50, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, my comment was in reference to editing in the free version we have already on Commons, which is unsuitable for this video due to timing differences, and that's why I'm recording a new version myself where I can play it at whatever tempo is necessary to match the video. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 20:55, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

- @Paris 16, El Grafo, PantheraLeo1359531, Der Wolf im Wald, Andrew J.Kurbiko, and Rhododendrites: I have uploaded a new version with my own performance of the nocturne, please take a look. Support -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 23:08, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

- +1 I don't have the time to review the new version right now (and I'm not sure I'd be qualified to judge your playing anyway), but I've struck my oppose above. Please remember to request deletion of the first version. Thanks, --El Grafo (talk) 08:25, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
