- Info The mossy leaf-tailed gecko has developed an amazing camouflage system. It has irregular flaps of skin (known as a dermal flap) that run along its body so that it can press itself against a tree branch or trunk and disappear. The flaps mean that it doesn’t throw a shadow. All by Charlesjsharp -- Charlesjsharp (talk) 20:12, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

- Support I really thought for a minute that you nominated a branch without a gecko and another branch with a gecko until I read the description and saw it. --Podzemnik (talk) 20:57, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support These has to be in a set! --Cart (talk) 21:03, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- Comment wow, can you still do something about the frame overlapping issue on the far left of the hiding image? Poco a poco (talk) 21:55, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
OpposeFor now, at least I deserve an answer why editing the left part of the left picture wouldn't be posible. The quality issues are very obvious and although this set is among the best I can think of, the quality of the left image can and should be improved Poco a poco (talk) 18:37, 7 August 2020 (UTC)- Comment. Sorry Poco a poco, I didn't notice your comments which are spot on. New version uploaded. Charlesjsharp (talk) 21:37, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you did, but you didn't address the issue I pointed out. I just added a note (in the pic page not in the nom page as the note button is not available) Poco a poco (talk) 07:31, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- THat's the problem with camouflage. Can't see the errors. Hopefully now sorted Poco a poco. Thanks. Charlesjsharp (talk) 09:43, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- That was a really improvement, thanks Support Poco a poco (talk) 09:51, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- Agree. Seems that what I took for a mouth was not. Twice camouflaged animal, then, once by nature and once by {{Retouched}} -- Basile Morin (talk) 02:12, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- By the way, there are still errors, on the twig upper right side, and on the tip of the light green leaf over the neck. The leaf behind the twig also looks cloned -- Basile Morin (talk) 03:57, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

- Support per others. So cool! -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:11, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- Strong support Gorgeous illustration of camouflage in nature. Each image is fine as FP, but the set increases the value of the pair. Imagine only one picture captured in this place, we would love to see the other one. The fact we've got both clearly adds an extra documenting value. The animal itself seems rare enough and visually special to boost the candidature. Still two remarks: 1) Do you know the template
{{otherversion|File:example.jpg}}
you can add in the description pages? 2) Very poor categorization. I would expect at least something related to the notion of camouflage, which seems essential here -- Basile Morin (talk) 00:23, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Done thanks, though the template doesn’t seem to work very well. I edited Camouflage on Wikipedia, but the edit was reverted. Charlesjsharp (talk) 07:57, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- It works well IMO but is supposed to be placed in the specified section Fixed. And I've learnt something with your category added -- Basile Morin (talk) 08:23, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

- Question How are sets handled by POTY? It would be really sad this doesn't make it to POTY candidates. - Benh (talk) 17:29, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Benh, sets do count for POTY, but we vote on the set as a whole rather than the pictures individually. Example here - see the '1/8' above the picture and the navigation tools to scroll through the pictures in the set. Cmao20 (talk) 18:33, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Sets do count in POTY, but if, I remember correctly, are poorly displayed for voting - I think only one image is displayed. Charlesjsharp (talk) 20:34, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- One image at a time is displayed. It's not obvious at all it is a set. I hope this doesn't compromise this set's chances. - Benh (talk) 06:45, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- As well as notifying this page that POTY has started, the organizers could improve the layout to alert voters. Charlesjsharp (talk) 08:29, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Agree, if in POTY 2020 the interface looks the same like for the last edition, this set will not be one of the finalist. But we have similar issues with spherical panos, most of the viewers don't understand them and will not vote for them the way they are displayed...Poco a poco (talk) 08:04, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
