- A request for removal of an image simply because it is a permanently blocked user-created image does not constitute a condition for removal (WMF Global ban is another matter). Whether the first picture constitutes infringement or fair use, whether the second picture is used for obvious vandalism, and whether the third picture violates the things prohibited by the laws of the Wikimedia Foundation's location, such as child pornography, etc. The picture does not have the second and third problems, and the only thing that needs to be checked is whether the picture is a fair use or a copyright infringement. I would like to echo Chiselinccc's concerns expressed at en:User talk:Autisticeditor 20/Archive 1#Revert my Edit:
Nudity and sexuality are no problem, and Wikipedia isn't censored. However, why on earth do the women in your "art" need to be wearing stockings and other decorative accoutrements, but not the men? Do you have any capacity to reflect on the prurient nature of this Playboy-esque "design choice"? You may be shocked to find this out, but what you apparently think lesbian sex consists of is entirely drawn from the pornography industry's theatrical performativity. Your "lesbian sex" characterizations are frankly shameful, and solely represent what voyeuristic males wish to see.
I would say the concerns expressed in this quotation trump the educationality of the images, also in the light of having alternatives for them that do not suffer from these problems (well, except the piledriver images).

Procedural keep COM:INUSE is pretty clear: it's not on Commons to make editorial decisions for other projects. If you think there are better images to illustrate the article these images are used in, follow those respective wikis' policies and procedures to replace them. - Keep Read the file history. I updated it just this week. If it's out of date, it's only because the WP-en article is. There are however 72 polls from 2023 and 2024. You are welcome to find more recent sources for countries with old polling data, and if you do I'll update the map to match. (Our Iceland data is from 2006, though even back then it ranked in the highest category. It would be good though to get more recent data from the Caribbean.)
- If your only objection is that we don't show Poland at 50%+, from a source that you added to the WP-en article only yesterday, requesting deletion of the map because it wasn't updated immediately is simply idiotic. Anyway, I already reviewed and discounted it: we've now had 3 polls over the last year, and two of them show support at less than 50%. Excluding 'other/NA' responses, support was found to be 36%, 43%, and 55%. That's enough to conclude that there is better than 1/3 support, but not enough to conclude there's majority support. Perhaps something has radically changed Polish public opinion since last year's polls (maybe opposition to Russia, the same thing that's shifted Ukrainian opinion so drastically?), but we'll need more that a single outlying poll to conclude that. - I uploaded this file, and honestly, I think you’re right. Based on the video it’s from, you seem to be correct; the Thai government and Parliament is infamously unfriendly to the public domain.

However, I think if it were to be deleted, we can replace it with a different picture already on Commons (or upload new public domain photos from elsewhere) that represents Pita’s time as an MP before the 2023 election. The uploaders were therefore not able to comment on the DR. In addition, the DR was not listed on the image file pages. - Keep I have looked to all of the above images where TuX is depicted, images which are notified to be deleted. First of all it is not about the toy itself, but about a mascotte of an open source or free license user communities. For Wendy the Weasel is it about the social live amongst stuffed mascottes, which is surely not about toys. So, I believe the US toy copyright law would not be applicable in those cases. - I also object against deleting:
- 1) Some of the designs are that close to the original Tux design, that they don't pass a threshold of originality (German 'Schöpfungshöhe'). They simply took the 2D design of the Tux, dropped it into a design program and modified just a few little things. Which is totally fine, but it doesn't allow them to claim copyright, because it is not a separate artwork.
- Meanwhile, the 2D design of Tux is public domain.
- 2) Let's say, in some cases the original 2D Tux image has been modified enough, so that the 3D model is copyright-protected. Then, I would argue, the protection concerns the design itself. It doesn't protect images of a product, based on the design. S60W79 (talk) 20:39, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit]I'd argue that most- if not all- of these cans cross the line into COM:PACKAGING-related copyright violation. However, I appreciate that the artwork visible on some is simple or minimal, so they may be on the edge, hence I've nominated them here rather than simply tagging as copyvio.
Note that even in some cases that might otherwise be "de minimis", the appearance of the can itself is clearly the subject and focus of interest, rather than simply something that happens to appear in the photo.

The can is just a cylinder. The paint largely is just purple with a few letters in it. The "FANTA" writing on the can is about as original as any other textlogo. The grapes themselves are very simple shapes done with a surprisingly low resolution. They are not great art that is worth protecting, but rather a bunch of simple shapes that are arranged in a simple way [...] Regarding the threshold of originality: Compare the design of the can in the image to Pepsi Mango. If not deleted by the hoster the artwork on the beverage cab can be found here. In my opinion there is a clear difference between the simple design (from my point of view PD level) and a more complex and artistic design of the can."

- FWIW, that was definitely one of the cases closest the edge for me in the first place.
- That said, whether or not your image should be kept for other reasons, I'm not 100% sure the case you mentioned is relevant here.

- The images I saw seem to confirm this.
