Ce nouveau compte Flickr "Carpuat Emilie" a été créé pour la mise en place de cette photo à ma demande. D'autre part un mail a été adressé à Permission Wikimédia Francophone, le 17 octobre à 17h01 indiquant comme il se doit qu'elle était l'auteur de la photo et qu'elle donnait son autorisation pour publier cette œuvre sous la licence CC BY-SA 4.0.

In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Keep Wikipedia notability is irrelevant for judging whether a photograph meets COM:Scope. The portrait photo is a good quality and useful for illustration of anyone wanting to present information about this author or a related group, such as food/diet writers. BTW, they are a real person and have an internet footprint that includes some commentary in news articles. - It's good to assume good faith but Jerjer Li's denying the upload and closing the discussion hastily could also give some suspicion about that good faith. Couldn't they? Drawing the picture of a person who betrayed his wife with another married woman could also be suspected. Maybe this user is the betrayed wife, or her familiar, or the husband of the other woman etc. Why has Jerjer Li decided to upload four pictures suddenly? - The painting is owned by the Royal Society, presumably still on display. I am unsure why the link no longer works, there is a B&W version still displayed in the catalogue, though I believe the site is 'rebranding' in November so stuff may start to move.
- I doubt that copyright of the painting was transferred, even if it was a Society commission at the time. If anyone were very keen to use the image, I would suggest writing to the archivist in the RS in the first instance, to confirm if they think it's public domain. Their views would be highly credible as it's always been part of their collection.

- @Hystrix asked me to comment. I should have explained better: the images I wanted deleted are part of a large and important donation of images of Guinea-Bissau during the war of independence with Portugal in 1973-1974, see Category:Guinea-Bissau_and_Senegal_1973-1974_(Coutinho_Collection) and Commons:Guinea-Bissau and Senegal 1973-1974 (Coutinho Collection). There are unique images for instance of the Cuban medical help, part of Fidel Castro's worldwide policy of help to rebels. The photographer of these images, Dutch medical prof. Coutinho, donated them and I uploaded them to Commons in 2016. Prof. Coutinho asked me to delete the few not very encyclopedic images listed above of a house in Ziguinchor, Senegal (27_01 - 27_03) and of some soldiers (4_03): there are many such photographs in this collection. I think we should as much as possible respect the reasonable wishes of content donors, also because otherwise they will think twice before donating content again. - I see that somes like to split hairs. This photo is on WP since 2008. If there was a copyright holder, he would have asked since this time to delete the photo. Keep PD-Polish .

This logo appears to be a fan creation. Worth noting is that no source was provided and that the user claims that this file is their "own work". As this is a US trademark, it should be on Wikipedia with a fair use rationale and should have come from an official source. Questionable licensing claims. The Commons uploader claims to be the copyright holder even though the file comes from Flickr. (They do this with a lot of files.) The license is claimed to be a combination of licenses which isn't available on Flickr. The Flickr description indicates that the photographer is someone other than the Flickr account user, who is listed in the author field here. - The Commons uploader has since changed the license to match the Flickr file, but that still does not address the issue that the Flickr uploader isn't the author and therefore cannot issue a valid license.
