- Of course it's not PD-ineligible, I had to use that to work around CommonsHelper to bring it to Commons under PD-NZ which does apply. Do you often instantly nominate transfered images without even waiting for their descriptions to be cleaned up and proper licenses added???? Most people at least have the courtesy to wait for that process to be done.

- The En-Wiki version of PD-NZ and the Commons version are different, the Commons version of the license does not require a PD-US explanation. Multiple problems:
- This image shows a 1936 statue by fi:Emil Cedercreutz (1879-1949). The statue enters the public domain in Finland in 2020 and in the United States in 2032. Photos of the statue can't be hosted on Commons without permission from the sculptor's heirs before 2032.
- Although the photographer's contributions are in the public domain in Finland, there is no evidence that the photographer's copyright has expired in the United States. For example, this would require that the photo was published before 1 March 1989, but there is no information about the publication history of the photo.
- There is a licence which states that "The downloadable photographs from the Wartime Photograph Archive can be used by anyone." However, it doesn't say that anyone can modify the photos, so we don't know whether the licence allows modification. Also, it isn't clear whether this is a perpetual licence or not. - Thank you for your suggestion. I appreciate it and I also appreciate the effort of the uploader, but the photographer's identity has no bearing on the copyright status of the image. Unfortunately, I also don't have any more possibility to crop the image than you do, because I'm working from a public computer. Therefore, if the uploader cares about this image, he will have to do it. He has been notified about this DR. In any case, I think that a crop wouldn't be very useful and a better image of this house can be created (if I go to Krško in the nearby future, I'll make it, otherwise sooner or later someone else will). This is a painting of a person who died in 1940. It is quite likely not the uploader's own work from 2008 as claimed, but more likely somebody else's work from when the person was alive or recently dead. Photos take by the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office are not "work prepared by an officer or employee of the United States Government as part of that person’s official duties" nor are they "work of a United States Department of Justice", as the uploader clams under the chosen licenses. There is no evidence that a US Government employee took these images, instead of a Salt Lake County employee. - Isn't Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office a part of the overall "United States Government"? although at two different levels of government. Both a salt lake county employee and a federal US government employee are really part of the same public sector which usually doesn't copyright mugshot images, as mugshots of other famous people prove. Plus the case BDM did end up in a Federal district court so any mugshot and/or documents used before all went on to be used by the US Justice department, hence becoming its property. Andreas Schreitmüller ist eine Person des Zeitgeschehens, damit ist das Recht am eigenen Bild eingeschränkt, da es mit dem Informationsbedürfnis der Allgemeinheit abgewogen werden muss. Ich habe mein Benutzerkonto inzwischen von Wikipedia verifizieren lassen, bin es also selbst, der hier abgebildet ist. Und ich ich glaube kaum, dass ich eine Person der Zeitgeschichte bin als TV-Redakteur und nebenamtlicher Professor. Zumal laut Wikipedia die Unterscheidung zwischen relativer und absoluter Person der Zeitgeschichte durch ein BGH-Urteil als obsolet erachtet werden kann. Die Teilnahme war nur auf Einladung möglich und es gab keine Einverständniserklärung der Anwesenden zum Verzicht auf das Recht am eigenen Bild. Ich bitte daher um Löscung des Fotos.

- Die Bescheidenheit ehrt, aber bei einem Hauptabteilungsleiter eines öffentlich-rechtlichen Senders, der gleichzeitig als Stiftungsratsvorsitzender einer staatlich finanzierten Kulturstiftung fungiert, Träger eines hohen französischen Ordens ist und zumindest gelegentlich in Medieninterviews und Podiumsdiskussionen als Experte auftritt, fällt es mir schwer, eine Löschung auch bei hoher Bewertung des Persönlichkeitsrechts zu unterstützen. How can a 1943 photo with unknown author be an "own work" and at the same time PD-old with the author being dead at least 70 years? Obviously, there's something wrong here, the image should be deleted per the precautionary principle. Unless the copyright situation can be satisfactorily resolved. - That would be the grandfather of your wife then? Please write this at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ettore Bocchini Padiglione.jpg. I guess we normally accept photos from relatives as having permission, but you'd have to choose another license tag then. A CC license perhaps. Perhaps Template:PD-Italy, but I'm not sure if this is a "simple" photograph suitable for that license tag. A CC license would be better. --Rosenzweig τ 21:57, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Those are photographs by British explorer en:Wilfred Thesiger, who died in 2003. Info on their respective museum pages here and here. Said museum knows nothing about the claimed CC licenses, but instead states "© Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford". The photos were apparently taken in 1946 in Saudi-Arabia, but does that make them PD-Saudi Arabia as claimed? It is unsure when and where they were first published. If Thesiger published them, I guess he did so in the UK, not in Saudi-Arabia.

[edit]All other images of Arab celebrities uploaded by this user were copyvios grabbed from somewhere on the web. Even if Google Image Search didn't find those, they are very likely from some board, Twitter or Youtube profile; they should be deleted per the precautionary principle. Please also look for empty categories after file deletions.
I'm not sure if the same is true for the landscape etc. images by this user; while there were some copyvios in the past, at least some of them cold be legit. Just for the record, User:Memomoon seems to be a sock of this user.
