There are doubts about the copyright status; however, the museum has released a few other free-licenced versions of the work, e.g. To Encyclopedia Britannica so it's not improbable that this one is also released. The copyright needs checked, but this doesn't seem a speedy deletion. Adam Cuerden (talk) 20:12, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment The image in question is listed on Encyclopedia Britannica's site as GNU Lesser General Public License Version 2.1 is this a compatible license for Wikipedia? If so then it could be kept, even though a lower quality version is there. I don't think license can only apply to one resolution. Raeky (talk) 15:35, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paintings of artist Georges Emile Lebacq

[edit]

The reason these should all be deleted is that they appear to be a copyright violations. Amisdesbrus has uploaded the painting of Georges-Emile Lebacq under a self GFDL and not PD-Art. Secondly, as the painter died in 1950, the paintings are not eligible under PD-Art. --Labattblueboy (talk) 17:29, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Not secondly, the year of death of Lebacq is the only reason they are copyvios. The license tag thing can be easily fixed. Sv1xv (talk) 17:44, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I agree there's problems with having them here, and they should be deleted, but, given the dates, I'd suggest thepre-1923 ones could be transwiki'd to en-wiki, using {{PD-US-1923-abroad|out_of_copyright_in=2021}} - a special en-wiki template that will assure they're returned to commons at a more appropriate time. Adam Cuerden (talk) 21:10, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Help Requested User:Amisdesbrus is claiming to be the copyright holder of the images because he is the beneficiary of the artists estate. Can anyone offer some help on how we can go about confirming or disprove that the user is the rights holder to the images. No letter of verification is included with any of the images. thoughts? --Labattblueboy (talk) 14:16, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
CommentDeletion procedure can stay running. But, I inform him to send an OTRS mail to premissions-fr to clarify the procedure. If it end good, deleted file will be undeleted and an OTRS ticket information will be add on all needed file. Crochet.david (talk) 14:33, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Following the advice of Crochet.david I have sent an email to permissions-fr to clarify the procedure. As I am truly the beneficiary of the painter thank you to postpone the deletion until I supply proof of my position. Thank a lot amisdesbrus (talk) 14:55, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I have tagged all the images as OTRS pending. Amisdesbrus does appear to be the copyright holder to the art of Georges Emile Lebacq, but that will have to be conclusively established through OTRS. --Labattblueboy (talk) 21:33, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is a ticket in OTRS (#2009082810037404) but we can't confirm for the moment that User:Amisdesbrus is the copyright holder of the images. Still in progress...--Bapti 07:08, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kept. Permission of the two copyright holders of the painter receveid by OTRS. Bapti 21:08, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When was the statue made and who's the artist?

Keep. We are still not sure what the Greek law is referring to and if this applies on Wikipedia too.--The daydreamer (talk) 22:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. By the same. Dorieo (talk) 09:37, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We are waiting for the results of research by the lawyers. As you know nothing gets done in August since everyone is on vacation. The fact that it is now early September does not suddenly close the issue. -- ArielGlenn (talk) 15:35, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Is the nominator allowed to vote? I really don't think so. This is not the first time Iconoclast does such a thing.--The daydreamer (talk) 21:34, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. Is really an unregistered user capable of nominating so many pictures for deletion? Note that every picture nominated by him is Greek. This is an abuse.--The daydreamer (talk) 22:18, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
