- The Arabic description translated by Google as "A mural depicting a fish trying to get out of a jar in the sea, surrounded by gold coins." A linked Arabic Wikipedia page, w:ar:ويكيبيديا:الطلاب المشاركون في النسخة الثالثة من برنامج ويكيبيديا للتعليم/الخليل/الصور كاملة, translates as "Wikipedia:Students participating in the third edition of the Wikipedia Education Program/Hebron/Full images", implying this was taken in the city of Hebron, State of Palestine. Delete, Freedom of Panorama in Palestine as enshrined in the 1911 British-era Copyright Act (still in force there) does not cover 2D graphic works. [edit]Small size photo without META data more likely captured on a website than owned by uploader. Pierre cb (talk) 14:54, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- It's hardly tiny, and small size and lack of metadata is specifically stated in COM:DR not to be a deletion reason per se (though I could hardly be shocked if we watch an admin delete "per nom" in spite of that or without any regard to your deletion reason...). No matches on TinEye and matched only in the Wikipedia article on Google Lens, so what's the actual evidence of copyvio? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:33, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

This file was initially tagged by Vale93b as Speedy (speedydelete) and the most recent rationale was: looks like a trademark, no source mentioned, no evidence that the uploader is the author and that he/she's cleared to release the coa under cc by sa. Trademark is a COM:NCR, so we don't delete for that reason. Seems to be below COM:TOO Italy too, so Keep. —Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 19:58, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- must respectfully disagree: even if the TOO in Italy is quite high, the escutcheon shape, the combination of colors, the typeface of "fcm" integrated with graphic elements like the lightning bolt, they appear sufficiently creative and distinctive to gain copyright protection. So, imvho, the file must be deleted Vale93b (talk) 22:23, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Out of scope: plain text. Omphalographer (talk) 20:30, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- It should not be deleted for four reasons: firstly, it was totally written by myself having recorded several decades' teaching &learning experiences of my school - my teacher、my piano sisters、my mother's and mine from real classrooms and teaching practices which is carrying several generations' passing values for the public. Secondly, though it's made of Chinese language, I am bilingual person somehow also teaching translation of piano materials. You can see it as a translation materials to English language. Thirdly, I am planning to translate it into English in my page and some channels in wikiversity. It's useful for wikiversity and some international pupils to learn piano and English. Furthermore: though the content of this PDF seems as "made of plain text", persons understanding PDF will know PDF is made of pictures of every page rather than plain text. Pictures are allowed in wikimedia commons. In conclusion, PDF should be allowed as images. Otherwise, wikiversity and wikimedia commons will lose more right materials of teaching and learning. Jason M. C., Han (talk) 06:44, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- I think it is clear to everyone involved that the content of this file is text, regardless of how it may be technically represented. If that text is in scope on a Wikimedia project, you may post it as a page on that wiki. Omphalographer (talk) 22:19, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
No proof of a CC license on the page. In fact, RFA's terms of use prevents commercial or derivative uses of its content. The Arakan Army itself also does not use the Creative Commons license most of the time. Battlesnake1 (talk) 22:25, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
Wrong date, wrong source, wrong author. 87.183.226.62 23:47, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
Ingo y gonga (talk) 00:33, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- The reason they think that is that the seal is not your own work. You need to give the name of the author - I guess Paul V. From what you said, you are the source, though, and if you can't date more specifically than 1605-1621, that's fine. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:53, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- Well, the source is the image itself. The seal belongs to Pedro Pacheco Giron, the commissioner of the holy crusade in New Spain. Paulo V issued the bull in Rome, and Pedro Pacheco, as the commissioner of the crusade, he was the one who printed, signed and sealed the copies that were later sold in the dioceses as indulgences to legitimize the possession of the lands seized from the Indians without just cause, that is how it worked at that time (this can be verified in the visible text of the bull itself, except that it takes time to do the paleography of the 17th century even in a print). As I said, the source is the image of the bull itself, which in turn is not a primary source, but a secondary one, because it is a reprint and translation of the original bull of Paul V printed in Rome in Latin. I do not have images of the bull in Latin, but there are hundreds of images of other copies equivalent to this one, because they were distributed in all the dioceses throughout the viceroyalty. They were a kind of receipt that the owner kept after paying its price. De facto, it functioned as an ecclesiastical notarial tax. Ingo y gonga (talk) 01:12, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- I honestly think that if the reason for deleting it is to think that the stamp may have rights because I didn't make it, there is no risk, because the person who did it was exactly a 17th century printer called Pedro Ocharte, commissioned by the owner of the stamp: Pedro Pacheco Girón and by superior order of Paul V. But if they decide to delete the image, I don't have a problem either. It appears in very little visited articles. I just think that it is a very interesting original image that is free of rights and that, if possible, is worth sharing with other people interested in the subject. Ingo y gonga (talk) 01:25, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that it's not a good deletion reason, but you should still identify the printer in the file description. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:35, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, no problem. I don't know exactly how to do it, but I guess I'll find it out. Thank you. Ingo y gonga (talk) 02:00, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

- Thanks. I think what you're being (obliquely) asked for is not to have your username under "Author", but the name of the creator of the seal. It's not a deletion reason to me, but it's a good practice. You are the source of the photograph, though. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:28, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- ok, I think I've made to fix it Ingo y gonga (talk) 05:45, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

- Why do you think so? The image is only a close up of this other image: Bula de composición s.XVII you can confirm the date since the title shows that It was Paul V who issued it (1605-1621). It was printed in Pedro Ocharte's workshop in Mexico City. Ingo y gonga (talk) 00:43, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Wrong date, wrong source, wrong author. 87.183.226.62 23:49, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- This image is actually my mistake, and I agree it has to be deleted. This is the original image I used to make the other one, which is actually an original digital illustration (with the writtings upside down) that I used to illustrate an article about George K. K. Endall that I am working on in my workshop. From this image I took the scraps with which I constructed the other image. However, the date is completely correct, this image was taken from Copeland Fayette's book "Kendal of the Picayune" (chapter 3, p.21). Ingo y gonga (talk) 00:53, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
