Hello all, I'd like to request for the sysop tools to help out the community better. I've been actively nominating files for deletion, license reviewing and reverting vandalism/spam. With the sysop tools, I believe that I can serve the community better by helping out as and when it is needed. Previous RfAs @ here and here. Minoraxtalk 13:05, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If the file is uploaded within a month, I think that it can be CSD-tagged as long as it isn’t in use. For other cases, such as if the image is used for self promo or was uploaded more than a month ago, they should go through a normal DR. Minoraxtalk 02:38, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Minorax: Which CSD(s)?   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 02:43, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G.: I would say F10 and G10. Minoraxtalk 03:34, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What are possible reasons for why such images might be nominated for deletion? When is it OK for a user to upload a photo of him/herself? -- King of ♥ 03:16, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@King of Hearts: Different wikipedias have different criteria for self promo, such as U5 for en.wp. These users would rarely have edits out of their own userspace or draftspace. The images used on such pages would generally not be used on other articles, so if the self promo page is deleted, there is no reason the keep that particular file.
I would not tag a personal image of a user if they contributed to wikis in an appropriate manner with constructive edits, etc. Minoraxtalk 03:34, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Let me clarify: What reasons other than COM:SCOPE might we have for starting a deletion request on a photo that a user uploads of him/herself? -- King of ♥ 04:49, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would say that if the user is the subject in a photo but is evidently not taking by him/herself (professional photoshoot, etc.). I would start a DR explaining why the permission from the photographer is needed. Also, if the user claims to be a somewhat notable person (celebrities, etc.), I will also start a DR as it seems dubious. Hope this answers your question. --Minoraxtalk 05:09, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that we shouldn’t block an admin without any prior discussion, unless that particular admin is going rogue. Minoraxtalk 02:38, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Why? Are admins a privileged class among us, Commoners? E4024 (talk) 00:29, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@E4024: Sysops are trusted members of the community. If a block is needed, it’s more of a behavioural issue. The discussion is needed to see how severe the problem is and if a desysop is needed. --Minoraxtalk 02:29, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@The Squirrel Conspiracy: Quality of edits > number of edits. Instead of mass editing and fixing overcats, I now mainly focus on patrolling new files and license reviewing. Not saying that the quality of my edits now is perfect, but i think that it has improved significantly. Minoraxtalk 03:24, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
