JPEG vs PNG

Hey!

Nice diagrams!

But I've two suggestions:

1. Use engilish file names for such graphics - it will make easier find and use them for non-fr speaking people :)
2. Do not use JEPG format for this graphics, use PNG or SVG if you are able :)

1. I could do the first thing easily if I knew how to change the title of a graphics already loaded on Wiki Common ; I've tried, but I didn't find it !
2. These files are actually generated first by Wolfram's Mathematica, second exported as ordinary bitmap files, and then converted in jpeg using Microsoft's Paint. There is surely a more simple way to work to end to a PNG file, but I'm not an expert in creating graphics ! I'll try ...

Cześć, nie wiem, jak się nazywają tutejsze szablony, więc chciałbym Ci donieść o NPA grafiki Image:Balbo.jpg. Wzięła się stąd. Ten "wikipedysta" User:Solikcom (u nas: pl:User:Solik) bez przerwy zajmuje się kopiowaniem z netu na plwiki -- zwróć proszę uwagę na jego działania tutaj. Dzięki, Bansp 17:05, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Że to on mogę być tylko na tyle pewien, na ile widzę zależność pomiędzy jego uploadami tutaj i działalnością na plwiki oraz oczywiście podobieństwo useridów. A co do PA, to zdaje się ktoś poniżej już to potwierdził -- ja tylko podejrzewałem, bo (a) to była strona RAI -- chyba oni mogą być średnio skłonni do altruizmu (ale copyright info nie czytałem) i (b) bo widziałem, co ten chłopiec robi na plwiki -- dopóki go Kocio nie zgasił na miesiąc miał takie cykle, że wklejał artykuły kopiując strony, które akurat czytał (gry komputerowe, mitologia, nie pamiętam co jeszcze). Chyba zrozumiałem. Szkoda, że nie wiedziałem o tym wcześniej. Idol - bez przesady, ale to miłe. Co do spotkania... Nigdy nic nie wiadomo. Też chciałbym poznać parę osób, ale jak to zrobić - nie wiem, ponieważ nie znoszę wszelkiego rodzaju zjazdów, zlotów i dużych zgrupowań ludzi. No właśnie, zauważyłem to za późno, ale pisalismy to w tym samym czasie.

Zauważyłem, że te grafiki były robione w Inkscape, ale nie przypuszczałem, że są jeszcze do odtworzenia. Sam wybieram raczej trudniejsze grafiki, więc padło na tę również. Grafiki wektorowe - png

Witam. Ktoś sobie robi kpiny z całego projektu. Śmieszne to, ale odkryłem już drugą bitmapę podszywającą się pod wektorową POL Tczew COA.svg. Plik zamieścił Shazz. Grafika ta jest nędznej jakości bitmapą w formacie PNG, choć zapisana jako SVG. Przecież ktoś to robi albo nieświadomie, albo są to kpiny z nas wszystkich, którzy siedzą godzinami i męczą się żeby zrobić to jak najlepiej. Pozdrawiam. Bastian 20:20, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Łabędź

Witaj! Po kilkudniowej przerwie wracam do życia i do grafik. Zrobiłem dwie wersje herbu Łabędź. Jedna według skasowanego już wzoru, druga - w tej samej oprawie co Ostoja, Rola czy Pomian. Jeśli uznasz którąś za zbędną to ją usuń, choć szkoda by było. Obie ładne. Esterhazy też będzie niedługo. Z Ciężkowicami jest problem. Nie mogę się dopatrzeć szczegółów w górnym małym herbie. Wygląda to na gryfa, albo postać ludzką w głębokim pokłonie. Nie jestem w stanie tego nigdzie znaleźć. Właściwie mam gotowy rysunek, brak mi tylko tego szczegółu. Może Ty masz jakieś informacje. Na pewno nie będzie żadnego właściciela, wszystko jest legalne, a herby te są własnością odpowiednich miast. Although I don't understand the stuff written above, I think it's related, because the filenames are the same: You deleted Image:BABOROW.svg, Image:Image-POL Biała COA.svg, Image:Image-POL Byczyna COA.svg and Image:Image-POL Dobrodzień COA.svg, while they were still in use on the Dutch wiki. I managed to correct the last 3 filenames, because the error was noticable, but for BABOROW, I'm still looking: could you point me to the correct file please? Poznaniak najprawdopodobniej używa funkcji Trace bitmap na znalezionych w internecie bitmapach. Wskazuje na to budowa pliku (kilka warstw zbudowanych tylko z jednolitego koloru) oraz to, że "jego" dzieła są bardzo podobne do bitmapowych oryginałów (kolory, proporcje), nie zgadza się tylko format i wielkość... --Shazz 11:34, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

PNG flags

Why you are uploading PNG versions of flags? Commons have politics to redraw all bitmap flags to SVG format, so why you do it?

I have absolutely no idea how to create SVG images! The flags were needed for use on Wikipedia so I uploaded them in PNG format as this is also a low file size format. If you know how to convert the images to SVG feel free to do this. I was not aware of any policy that no flags are allowed in PNG format as Wikipedia contains many flags in this format. People are working on deletion hundreds of versions of PNG flags of countries, so uploading new, while they try to cleanup is ... All country flags are in SVG format, so you can use them :) --WarX 11:19, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

As stated on the flags' pages they are bordered versions of the SVG flags for small inline use, where the {{Border}} hack is not sufficient. No such flags exist in the SVG format at present. I have only created one extra version not four!!! The {{Border}} hack disrupts layout of small inline templates such as {{ENFf}} or {{POLf}} whereas a separate bordered flag such as Image:Flag of South Korea (bordered).svg. I have been advised of this by Ed g2s — Dan1980 23:42, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Redundant cat.

Could you delete Category:Amphibious warfare vessels of the United States and Category:Amphibious warfare vessels by country? They are empty and their range is covered with Category:United States Navy amphibious assault ships and Category:Amphibious assault ships. In fact, I have no idea, what diferrence would be between "amphib. warfare" and "amphib. assault", but as for now, all ships of that kind go to the later one and the first categories only make a mess. • Chciałbym zrobić swoją małą galerię (a'la to :) z herbami - czy wolno już po publikacji zmienić ich licencję z public domain na, chociażby, GFDL - i tym samym "odzyskać" fakt bycia ich autorem? (Odpowiedź twierdząca mile widziana :)
• Zakładka metadane w plikach SVG zawiera pole licencja - czy umieszczony tam wpis GNU General Public Licensce jest tożsamy z GFDL?
• Wolno jednocześnie użyć na stronie obrazka szablonu {{Polishsymbol}} i {{GFDL}}, albo którejś z licencji CC?

Pytania o wektoryzację herbów

Uważałem, że herby w wersji SVG mają być lepsze jakościowo (także ładniejsze). Myślałem, że należy poprawiać zbyt grube kontury, blade i brudne koloru, brak symertii, przekłamania kompresji... SVG wg mnie ma tę zaletę, że można łatwo poprawić ręcznie wyedytowane pliki.

Najwyraźniej źle zrozumiałem...

A teraz Poznaniak twierdzi, że herby nad którymi pracowałem po kilka godzin nie nadają się do niczego. Czy marnowałem swój czas? Czy herby, które różnią się od innych tym, że są ładne, od razu muszą być uznawane za niepoprawne, mimo że są zgodne z opisami zawartymi w statutach miast? Czy oficjalna wersja herbu to wersja, której nie można zmianić, poprawić, upiększyć? Czy istnieje coś takiego jak wersja oficjalna, czy tylko wzory i przykłady? It is quite easy. If he publishes more clear information about where he got the licenses from then no one will bother him. Did he email the website owners? Na SVG się nie znam. Staram sie polaczyc co najlepsze dla p. Gajla z tym co najlepsze dla nas i dla Wiki. Wiki potrzebuje tych obrazkow, a p. Gajlowi na pewno przyda sie reklama - mysle, ze wiecej zyska na zamowieniach/itp. z ludzi, ktorzy natkna sie na jego obrazki tutaj niz straci przez gosci, ktorzy beda je kradli (do druku!). Zreszta czy GFDL nie utrudnia drukowania wystarczajaco (trzeba przedrukowac licencje...?). Znaki drogowe bez pustej przestrzeni

Cześć! Po nocach nie powinno się nic robić... Znaki poprawione, ale przy okazji znalazłem błąd w nazwie znaku A14, z tego powodu plik Znak_A14.svg (nazwa bez myślnika) jest do usunięcia --poprawny juz wsadziłem. Nie wiem jak z usuwaniem starych wersji (z pusta przestrzenią) i plików PNG (Znak_B-1.png -- Znak_B-3.png, Znak_A-14.png i Znak_A-7.png) --w tej chwili nie sa już używane. Nie wiem jeszcze czemu nie działa na polskiej Wiki pl:Znaki drogowe znak A-7 może masz jakąś koncepcję? --MStankie 18:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I jeszcze dwa pytanka: stara wersja (PNG) znaku A-14 używana jest na wielu stronach jako ikonka oznaczająca roboty na pewnych odcinkach dróg. Jak to zrobić, żeby zostały one wymienione na SVG? A warning message was placed on this category two weeks ago.

The new category name has been added to all the images of this former category. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the existence of the Template POL-COA until the after the bot processed the category.

This template is locked. If you would be so good as to change to the new category name, this would complete the transition. Your speedy deletion of images

Hi. Please don't delete public domain images as "copyvio"s, as you did here:

If you have concerns about the copyright status of an image, please make absolutely sure that you have exhausted all options of inquiry before deleting it. Deleting images

Hi, you are deleting images with the comment "copyvio" without checking if it is being used, and sometimes without checking that it is actually a copyvio. An example of this can be found at ca:Inadaptats where all of the broken images were deleted by you. Another example is image:Mediaportal.PNG which was used on no:MediaPortal. The last image was, by the way, a screenshot of a software released under GNU/GPL [1]. Why do you delete all these images without checking that they are used or checking that they actually violate Commons' rules? Mathias-S 15:21, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
