There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

I was just wanted to ask you how you took this photo.. from another building or helicopter? I just can't imagine how you took this so cleary from that high. --Staka 22:11, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, Staka. I took it from the Landscape Building, near Sakuragicho station. Careful, though, going up to the roof cost s 1000 yen. --Frank
Thanks for the reply. I'll try going there next time I go to Japan. --staka 00:29, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

About "kamakura"
[edit]"Engakuji" is included in "Temples of Kamakura". "Temples of Kamakura" is included in "Kamakura, Kanagawa". So I deleted it. For example, do you add "Japan" Engakuji is a temple and because there is it in Japan? If your thought is different from my thought, I respect your thought.--Hide-sp 08:01, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT (talk) 06:13, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Zuisenji Buddha
[edit]Hello, that's a very nice photo, but you should call it Jizo, not Buddha. In Wikipedia, Jizo leads automatically to Kshitigarbha, the Sanskrit name of this deity. Greetings, Bernhard from Germany
- Done, thanks.

Do you know, what kind of deer it, the riders wear (if possible the Latin name)?. Thank you, regards from Germany --Kürschner (talk) 07:55, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- No, but I will try to find out. Wait a day or so. --Urashimataro (talk) 23:10, 27 November 2010 (UTC)--- Great, thank you--Kürschner (talk) 08:24, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
I have come to the conclusion the deer is almost certainly a sika deer, or Cervus nippon, one of the few which does not lose its spots in adulthood. This site says it the only deer in Japan.--Urashimataro (talk) 23:20, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- You made a good job, I can recommand you ;) - thank you very, very much! --Kürschner (talk) 08:30, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Hi. I will appreciate if you can specify which Hakusan-gongen the above picture is, since there are lots of mini-shrines of the same name around the country. The city/town it was taken, and which larger shrine it was located in. Thank you. --トトト (talk) 04:28, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

File tagging File:Narano_daibutsu_1.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Narano_daibutsu_1.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |
