I only blocked one of the accounts and warned the other. Tiptoety talk 06:24, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Did you read the ticket? Stifle (talk) 10:41, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I saw and read the first email when it was still in the queue. After looking over it again it appears to have grown significantly. I will try and read over it, but can't say I plan on reading it word for word. If there are specific issues which you feel I should address you can either email me or leave them here (depending on the need for privacy). Cheers, Tiptoety talk 05:59, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see that my direct response was needed and I have done so. If you would be so kind as to lock the ticket to me next time that way I know my response is needed I would appreciate it. Thanks, Tiptoety talk 06:17, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thank you and new question

  1. Thanks for not letting the thing a week ago turn into a witch-hunt. It was from my end a difference in interpretation only, and I appreciate your calm.
  2. There are some images which have been removed from Commons but which we really can use at en:Wikipedia, properly tagged so they don't get deleted there-I will fix them and watch them. Do you have restorative rights or whatever they are called at Commons so we can get them at the en:Wikipedia? Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:52, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Corollary question Is there a Template:Move out of Commons type template that will get the images moved instead of speedy-deleted? Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:54, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fossil categories

Has a resolution occurred to the fossil categories dispute?[1] Walter Siegmund (talk) 19:24, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No. I simply do not have the time currently needed to assist in resolving this dispute. Sorry. Tiptoety talk 06:24, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If that is the case could you please find an admin to finish with the process and resolve the dispute? The topic has no been reopened by several participants in the original discussion.--Kevmin (talk) 22:15, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I replied there. Tiptoety talk 06:38, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Forgotten files

Hi, could you also delete the other two files in Commons:Deletion requests/File:BauernhausSennheiser.jpg? Regards, /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 16:04, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done - Thank you for pointing that out, much appreciated. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 19:09, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why are these pictures deleted? They are approved by Sennheiser. What do you need as evidence?

IP 76.26.94.46

Hi Tiptoety,
from the amount of clean-up work for the vandalism-only edits of IP 76.26.94.46, I would prefer to block him for at least 1 week (even better would 2 weeks to prevent him doing the same next weekend), if you don't mind increasing your 3-day block. --Túrelio (talk) 20:34, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fine with me. I increased it to nine days. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 20:46, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --Túrelio (talk) 20:50, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thanks for your attention, and for getting to Wikinews. :) Durova (talk) 03:50, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome. Always happy to help. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 19:09, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, in November we delayed a final discussion and resolution until December on this matter. You commented in the discussion; welcoming you to return. Let's figure out the best solution. Respectfully, Durova (talk) 04:18, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is it acceptable to mark all of one's edits as minor, even when they're clearly not, and even include editing of archives? See all edits, including the 12/26/09 edits here. Apropos your CU closure and yesterday's edits: a block log entry could prove useful down the road; user could always apply for the mop again. --Elvey (talk) 19:56, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Lycaon is still an administrator. As to the other issue, I suggest taking that to the admins noticeboard. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 05:40, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bot flag temporarily granted

T: Please see: Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard#Bot_flag_temporarily_granted_to_two_users ... when you are done just ping any 'crat to have it turned off. Many thanks for taking this task on, it's appreciated!

Everyone else: T may not respond to you right away since he's busy. Also while the flag is on his response to you wouldn't show up in recent changes which is suboptimal, please be patient. ++Lar: t/c 14:26, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome. Looks like a 'crat already removed the flag. Thanks! Tiptoety talk 19:10, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again for pitching in, much appreciated. ++Lar: t/c 13:47, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Review

Hi all. I have been debating running for CheckUser access here for a bit, but before I do I would like a review. Are there things people would like to see me start doing differently? Things I should be doing more, less of? Any general comments? Comments from anyone would be greatly appreciated! Tiptoety talk 05:19, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be doing well. Have been prompt and appropriate in dealing with recent CU requests--thank goodness we don't have to run very many of them. Durova (talk) 23:00, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You seem moderately aware of how Commons works. Keep up the average-quality work! Killiondude (talk) 07:12, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
/me pats Killiondude on the head. You too bro! Tiptoety talk 07:13, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

question

Have my image-rename rights been revoked or something? Used to be the requests would be handled in about two weeks, now it's just me and the crickets. Okay either way, but I do want to know, thanks. Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:24, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea what you are talking about. Tiptoety talk 19:10, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think they're saying it is taking a long time for their {{rename media}} requests to be processed. Maybe an implied request? ;-) Killiondude (talk) 22:52, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, just a vibe I was getting so I had to ask. It was hairy here six weeks ago. Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 20:26, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Vibe? I am not clear what happened six weeks ago that you are referring to. Also, there is no way to remove you "image-rename rights" as there is no such right. Tiptoety talk 00:33, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I often use the wrong name for stuff. "trusted user" status. The last stuff on your archives. If you say it's not an issue, I believe it. Thanks! Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 13:25, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My Thanks!

Short and sweet is good :-). --SB_Johnny talk 19:57, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 06:57, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fossils

Hi Tiptoety, Not to be a bother but its been a month since you requested proposals on the fossil cats issue at ToL and I was wondering if your would be able to work on finalizing some type of solution on the issue so images can be properly dealt with. Sorry to pester you. --Kevmin (talk) 07:51, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First off, sorry for the delayed response. Second, don't feel that you are pestering me, I am the one who raised my hand to help. And third, could this possibly wait until after the holidays? I am traveling a fair amount, and do not really have the time needed to give this situation adequate attention. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 06:43, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I completely understand and have no problems at all waiting till after the new year, its a busy season for everyone right now. Happy holidays!--Kevmin (talk) 07:45, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Have a good holiday. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 18:37, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

sockpuppet

Hello Tiptoety, Could you please have a look at this contributions? I think the user is a sockpuppet. Thank you in advance. Anna (Cookie) (talk) 00:02, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delayed reply, I have been on vacation. I would recommend adding a note to Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Denniselynn asking for another check to be ran. Tiptoety talk 02:57, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Backlog

Hey Tiptoety, I've been waiting for a decision on these DR's for a while now. First one's from July 2009 and the other is from December 23, 2009:

It's a little frustrating: I attempted to SD the first one seeing as I already successfully SDed previous versions/similar images, but another user/sysop (i think...) decided that a regular DR is better. With the second one, IMO, it's a little less black-and-white than the first as their not exact copies of what they're design to represent, but close enough for me to nominate them for deletion. I was wondering if you could take a look and make a decision. Thanks, Nat (talk) 08:38, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I closed the first one, but like you said the second one is not so black and white. As such, I am going to leave the second one alone for right now. I would like to see some others comment on it before I take any administrative action. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 22:05, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Block

Np with me, but I was thinking whether it is appropiate while blocking for ever. :) If it's that's all right Masur (talk) 06:35, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would say the offense justifies an indefinite block. Good work. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 06:37, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Err

Given the need for 25 votes you should probably nudge Drini to actually vote for you :) Cheers --Herby talk thyme 08:58, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. I actually thought about that, but did not want to be rude. I mean, after all he did nominate me. :-) Tiptoety talk 08:59, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll drop him a note :) --Herby talk thyme 09:08, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your opinion would be valued as well. :-) Tiptoety talk 09:20, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You will get it...:) --Herby talk thyme 09:36, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have already stated that this is my own work(not adapted from any webpages) with licensing .I don't know what 's on with the image? Hong Kong Student (talk) 09:40, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am asking that you send an email to OTRS confirming you are the copyright holder. Tiptoety talk 09:42, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have done that. How do I know my permission is granted or not? Hong Kong Student (talk) 10:00, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You will receive a reply via email. Tiptoety talk 18:54, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you have a look?

Hey, I just happened to come back to the closed Commons:Deletion requests/File:La Personificacion.JPG, did you mean to delete the other two images too? Kind regards :) -- Deadstar (msg) 10:17, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I sure did! Thanks for the heads up, they have been deleted. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 16:20, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

CU

Hello Tiptoety, I have granted you CU flag. As CheckUser you can subscribe to checkuser-l and contact an op for access to #wikimedia-checkuser. And always act based on CheckUser policy. Congratulations and regards, LeinaD dyskusja 13:27, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations from me too. --Martin H. (talk) 14:22, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Pleased to see - and pleased there are two active Commons admins with these rights. --Herby talk thyme 14:26, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Careful with Import

FYI, it's almost never ever a good idea to check "Include all templates". Ever. ;) Rocket000 (talk) 18:54, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I wanted all the templates included but about two which I deleted. Thanks for the note though. Tiptoety talk 18:55, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that it replaces our own templates and breaks a lot of stuff if they're different. For example, {{Tlx}}. These kind of function templates are especially dangerous to change since they're used everywhere. Rocket000 (talk) 18:58, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah...alright. Feel free and fix anything, or delete the new version. Sorry for the inconvenience. Tiptoety talk 19:03, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not an issue. Others have done much worse with this tool. I meant merges not replaces. There no way to undo it other than restore a previous version (finding the last one is sometimes hard to do since the history merge is seamless.) Rocket000 (talk) 19:19, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tiptoety,
are you aware that the link on that you based your latest comment on Multichills request, was a comment by MGA73? --Túrelio (talk) 08:07, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am full of fail tonight. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. ;-) Tiptoety talk 08:08, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
