Tupto[edit]Had a little "dig" and can't see anything interesting but if you spot anything you know where I am - cheers --Herby talk thyme 14:44, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Mystery man[edit]I am indeed ;) One Night In Hackney 19:44, 23 October 2007 (UTC) Thanks for the fast update of Image:TheoVanGogh.jpg. I first recommended the copyright holder CC 3.0, but when I sensed an eventual uncomfort with ANY commercial use, I proposed them to use GFDL in order to impede abuse. -- Túrelio 12:06, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey there[edit]Just dropping by :) Fvasconcellos 17:45, 6 November 2007 (UTC) Re[edit]Hi. I left you a message at nl:Overleg_gebruiker:121.220.204.138#Discoglossus. Zanaq 13:11, 10 November 2007 (UTC) Hello :)[edit]Created the bot cat watch page - Commons:Administrators' Category watch, I'll post something on the admin board later. At least one of us should spot new ones then - good to see you, take care --Herby talk thyme 09:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
There you are![edit]You can run.. but you cant hide. :) Can you do the honors here? Thanx. Sarvagnya 06:19, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
PLease be careful with Sarvagnya. You have been warned. You disappoint me Riana, although I can see that you've had as much of this as I haveErnst Stavro Blofeld 11:28, 13 November 2007 (UTC) You should be able to see the images which aren't taken by the site and believe me most of them are there own but there are a few including screenshots which obviously aren't theresErnst Stavro Blofeld 11:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC). Riana the Preity Zinta main image was indeed the first image I asked for at Bollywood blog. I have not only asked if they own it once but twice the director of a multi million pound publishing company has authorized it as there own and have indeed now placed a source:bollywood blog on that image to mark it as their own and not an "unfree image". The license may not be seen as "convoluted" as you put it, as screenshots or promotional images can be seen against the vast majority of their own images Ernst Stavro Blofeld 11:49, 13 November 2007 (UTC) I don't know if you noticed but as the agreement was made, the site removed some of its promo photos which it knew it didn't own and replaced them with their own images and added the source:bollywoodblog.com to show us that they own it. A problem with one or two screenshots can be sorted easily -this isn't a reason to destroy an agreement which involves thousands of actual useable images. I would suggest that the screenshot thing or promo poster thing is written into the Bollywood blog licensing agreement to show they don't own those images but own the rest Ernst Stavro Blofeld 15:12, 13 November 2007 (UTC) Content dispute[edit]Hello Riana, I was hoping that you might be able to advise me about this. My question is less about the content dispute, than about the mechanisms for resolving such a dispute. In this specific case, the issues were long ago been hashed out on English Wikipedia, and I've linked to several articles, some of which are copiously sourced, so that I'm not sure what else needs to be done at this point to effect a change. Cheers, Tewfik 23:23, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
OTRS and the image of Joe Trippi[edit]Hi, I am the photographer that shot this inage of joe trippi Joe_Trippi_1.jpg - you claim there is a permission in OTRS - I can't see that. However Joe does not own the image. He has a license to it that permits him to distribute if freely - he cannot however claim the original copyright and he doesn't have the right to distrubute the image under GDFL. Please don't make me do a DMCA takedown. John Pettitt (wikipedia jpettitt) - 415 505 7875 jpp@cloudview.com 64.142.103.194 04:08, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Re Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard#Image:SFO_at_night.jpg and Commons:Featured_picture_candidates/removal/Image:SFO_at_night.jpg there seems to be absolutely no support for accepting the re-licensing, and no presentation of a compelling reason for the re-licensing. The discussion appears to have finished. I see no reason not to just revert to the full version. Let me know if I'm wrong, or whether there is some process still in train that I should know of :-) --Tony Wills 10:24, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Edit warring[edit]If you look at the edit history of this IP, he is attacking a number of articles and images, he is also engaging in personal attacks on me in talkpages, can you please semi-protect these articles to prevent this POV nonsense.--Padraig3uk 14:43, 29 November 2007 (UTC) I have not made any personal attacks. He wants to keep his self proclaimed admission of Sinn Fein membership off the page so he can impose a POV settlement on this issue. He is not neutral and should not be editing any articles like this. 86.158.71.43 14:45, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
You can checkuser my account if you wish, my wikipedia account is Padraig before that it was Padraig3uk before I upsurped the Padraig user account on wikipedia. As for this so-called dispute, the only person I see complaining about the use of the proper name of the Ulster banner image is you, and I see no problem recifying errors in image names, this is afterall an encyclopedia.--Padraig3uk 18:14, 2 December 2007 (UTC) Comment[edit]I would like to add my view to this. I am extremely annoyed to find that the User:CommonsDelinker has been used to change an image I placed on my personal user page IE:- Image:Flag of Northern Ireland.svg to Image:Ulster_banner.svg and draw me into an apparent edit war that is spilling over from the English Wikipedia. This image name change has been done under the claim that the 1st image is an exact duplicate of the 2nd image. This is incorrect as the 1st image has been uploaded since 28 November 2005, by User:Dbenbenn who is a Wiki Commons Bureaucrat, whilst the second has been created by a new user:- User:FalseXflag downloading the first image and re-uploading it, with a different name, two days ago on 28 November 2007, which technically makes the 2nd image the duplicated copy. It appears that the uploader is involved in an edit war over the name/purpose of the image for his own personal POV reasons on the English wikipedia. To use User:CommonsDelinker to then change multiple user pages is a form of vandalism, as now many users with different political points of view around the world have been summarily forced to have this change of name forced on them. To also claim that the delete tag should be removed from Image:Ulster_banner.svg on the grounds that the image was linked to hundreds of articles and templates, is also offensive, had the delinker not been used then the image would not exist on those articles/templates as claimed, having only existed under that name two days ago. It should also be noted that many articles/templates have not been able to be changed, as the 1st image is used in many other countries version of Wikipedia. They were listed on the 1st image page, though an edit by User:Siebrand removed the list from view, though it still visible in the edit history here:- Edit history Image:Flag_of_Northern_Ireland.svg. An attempt has been made to take a back door approach to having the image name changed, when it was opposed by other editors on the English Wikipedia; See:- Talk Page - Flag of Northern Ireland and Image Talk page - Ulster banner. As a Yorkshireman I consider myself to be neutral over the name or correct affiliation of the image, however I am aware that whilst living in Northern Ireland in the early 60s, and then working in the ambulance service there in the early 70s, the flag was flown on NI Government buildings. My usage of this particular image is to show the Flag that was in use at the time I worked there, I do not wish it to be seen as a link or an affiliation with any particular political party or group, of which I have none! I am also concerned over the timing of the sudden appearance of the 'New User' User:FalseXflag, who re-uploaded the original image with the new name having only done 3 edit contributions then disappearing to be followed up by other anon editors; See:- Revision history of "Image:Ulster banner.svg" which brings to mind sock-puppet editing! Perhaps the best way to solve this hostile edit warring and blatant expression of POV's would be to first reverse the User:CommonsDelinker edits of:- Image:Flag of Northern Ireland.svg, then rename the image to ' Flag of Northern Ireland (1953-1973).svg '. After which the Commons delinker can run through all wiki's to change the links and then finally delete both Image:Flag of Northern Ireland.svg and Image:Ulster_banner.svg. Riana, would appreciate any advice you can offer regarding the above article subject. She edits as User:Madjabuds, and, while she has generously contributed photos of herself, she's also edit-warred at the above gallery to remove photos of herself she sees as unflattering. Thanks for any time you can spare. Videmus Omnia 02:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Could you please edit this picture and remove the excess white-space? I tried, and failed. :( Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington 15:26, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Riana, I see you've been processing permissions - did you happen to see one I sent yesterday regarding the above photo? I've got back some responses about some images I uploaded subsequent to that one, but haven't seen anything on the above. Videmus Omnia 16:00, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Can you help me?[edit]Hello! I have a problem. I want to have a new Deletion request for Image:Sweden greater arms.svg because the coat of arms is NOT in line with the official blazoning. And it is very ugly too. Very often Wikipedias are using this wrong picture because it is the only svg-picture about the greater Swedish coat of arms. In Swedish Wikipedia we are now using Image:Sweden greater coa1908-modern.png who are correct. But now i want to delete Image:Sweden greater arms.svg because it is wrong and ugly. But it was an old request one year ago and they thought that coat of arms was correct in that time, but it is not. The sheild in the middle is wrong, so it should be deleted. Can you help me how to do a new request?--Bruno Rosta 15:19, 5 December 2007 (UTC) Thanks[edit]Is all :) My patience was getting thinner (must eradicate human traits) --Herby talk thyme 08:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Something wrong?[edit]Hey, could you please check out this user? I'm not exactly sure if he is licensing the pictures correctly. Zhi 15:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
My RFA[edit]Whether you supported, opposed, or were neutral, thank you for participating in my RFA, which was successful. I started several days ago on the constructive comments. — Rlevse • Talk • 18:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC) Thanks![edit]Thank you for supporting me in my successful RfA! And the nice compliment! -Rocket000 15:52, 13 December 2007 (UTC) Thank you[edit]Thanks for the fast response. “Administrators of other Wikimedia project may be added immediately to the list by a trusted user or a Commons administrator, if no reasonable objection has been found.” I had read it, but it felt a bit like cheating to ask the Commons admins I knew well to add me to the list. ^^ Happy editing, Arria Belli | parlami 02:24, 14 December 2007 (UTC) Thanks[edit]Riana, thanks much for your nomination and support at my RfA. Now I just have to figure out how to work these extra buttons! Videmus Omnia 15:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
User:Johnson64[edit]Please could you explain why you deleted this user's page on the 5th of December? --Simonxag 22:07, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
OTRS and Image:SG01.jpg[edit]I have proposed the image for deletion because the uploader is not the copyright holder of the image. Could you check with the OTRS ticket to confirm? Morbidthoughts 17:34, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Help, please?[edit]Hi. I’m having some trouble finding the right license for a picture I’ve uploaded, which is image:AvrilVancouver.jpg. It was originally posted on Flickr under CC-BY-NC-ND, but on the author’s profile, she mentioned that it was okay to use her work on the web as long as she is credited, so I asked permission first and she sent her consent to permissions@wikimedia.org. However, I can’t seem to find the appropriate license for this picture, and I don’t think the current one is right. So could you please help with this, or will this picture be deleted eventually? Zhi 12:48, 20 December 2007 (UTC) Another OTRS query[edit]Riana, I got a question on my talk page at en about Image:Zac Efron 2007.jpg - would you see if you could pull the OTRS permission on this image and verify the license details? If it's vague or inadequate I'll work with the uploader. Videmus Omnia 14:33, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

I will do my best to continue to act in a way that will benefit the commons and the commons community. -- Avi 01:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC) facebook screenshots[edit]You have deleted my screeshots of Facebook. How can I use images of Facebook in my articles on czech wikipedia about Facebook? There are some on english wikipedia too. Is this restriction only for Commons, should I upload this screenshots to Wikipedia directly?--Destil 10:29, 18 January 2008 (UTC) |
