Just to let you know I reverted your unexplained blanking of this gallery page. If you believe this page should be deleted then please follow the process here: Commons:Deletion requests. --Captain-tucker (talk) 15:14, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:14, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons does not accept derivative works of non-free works such as File:Muzej-Forica-Livno12.jpg. It only accepts free content, which is images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Reproductions of copyrighted works are also subject to the same copyright, and therefore this file must unfortunately be considered non-free. For more information, please read Commons:Derivative works and Commons:Freedom of panorama. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that this file was not a derivative work of a non-free work, you may request undeletion.

File:Karadjordjevo_agreement_-wikipedia.JPG has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Useless images
--Veliki Kategorizator (talk) 10:03, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
--Veliki Kategorizator (talk) 11:04, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Your message
[edit]Hi, I saw your message. You might want to wait to see what I do. I made the following pages:
- User:Wknight94/Quahadi images - keep
- User:Wknight94/Quahadi images - delete
- User:Wknight94/Quahadi images - borderline
- User:Wknight94/Quahadi images - combination of above
I was doing well until I got to the Stolac and Ljubinje pictures. I guess it was raining that day? Several of the pictures have water droplets on the lens or were very hazy. It's also very difficult to take pictures from a moving car. When you do that, you should expect a very low percentage of them to look good. Anyway, feel free to give me your thoughts, but don't bother re-uploading any of the deleted images until I've gone through them. Wknight94 talk 12:30, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- You should probably let me choose first. The one you re-uploaded, File:Ljubinje -zastava04855.JPG (same as File:Ljubinje krajolici-zastava04855.JPG), is one I would leave deleted. All you can really see is a road. There is some unidentifiable vegetation and a lot of haze (or is the haze from the camera?). It could be a picture from anywhere and is very arbitrary. Wknight94 talk 15:47, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, is that a flag? I could not even see that. The flag is much too far away and small to be of use. Like I said, when you take pictures from a moving car, you will get very few good pictures. The collage pictures would be okay but the pictures in there are too small. It would be better to create a simple gallery of the actual pictures. Wknight94 talk 12:30, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

You were violating Microsoft copyright rights.
Please, try to learn the basics (about images and about rules) and then upload images. There is reason to hurry.

Undeletion request regarding User:Quahadi

- A quick note. I don't have a camera with GPS either. I look at Google Maps and determine where I was on the map, and then insert the latitude and longitude from that. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing. Wknight94 talk 15:13, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
For something like File:Medvinjak05572.JPG, it would be really useful to know (in the description) whether this is photographed from a boat, a pier, a spit of land, or what. - Jmabel ! talk 08:28, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, and I'll add that, but what I'm suggesting is that when you upload images, add information like that. It makes the images much more valuable. The lack of that sort of thing is a lot of why people want to delete so many of your images. - Jmabel ! talk 18:02, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Gabela05378.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

[edit]Hi!
I have obtained permission to use photos from the portal http://www.grude-online.info/ here under CC 3.0 licence. Also from the http://picasaweb.google.com/petnjik author gave me the same permission.
The both permissions are, however, in Croatian language. Can you send me an e-mail and I will forward you the messages and later to translate in order to verify the permission as the clerk.
I have already made a template for grude online http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Grude_online
and you can re-edit if you want to!

Thanks for uploading File:Mali_Troglav,_Dinara-0038.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Mali_Troglav,_Dinara-0038.jpg ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Thanks for uploading File:Risovac,_Blidinje.jpg.

Kresimir Bikic images
[edit]- Hello, all files in the Kresimir Bikic picasaweb album is licensed as "All rights reserved". Please ask author to change license to Creative Commons Attribution or Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike or follow the COM:OTRS procedure. Thank you --Justass (talk)
Just so you know the proper procedure if you have uploaded a file with a bad file name and then re-uploaded the image with the correct name is to add the file uploaded with correct filename tag on the incorrectly named file. Please do not use the Delete tag. I have corrected and deleted the above image for you. If you have any questions please fell free to ask on my talk page or at the help desk.--Captain-tucker (talk) 14:52, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Copyright status: File:Bosna srebrena 1679.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Bosna srebrena 1679.jpg.
Thank you. |

- Quahadi, I don't understand your note on these two images. Where do you see that the web site has granted Commons licenses on them? Have they contacted you? Wknight94 talk 14:59, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. Well good luck then - I hope that comes through okay! Wknight94 talk 16:04, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Please do not remove problem tags
[edit]
High Contrast (talk) 19:04, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- In all fairness, the source and license are given. These should be no-permission tags and Quahadi has informed me that OTRS is pending. A request exists at COM:OTRS/N to confirm this. Wknight94 talk 19:39, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
PLease verify!
[edit]the templates that I have made based on a given permission from 2 websites and I have forwarded via OTRS.

- OTRS emails are processed in the order received. There is currently a queue of approximately three weeks for processing of emails, and it would not be fair to jump your request ahead of the rest. Stifle (talk) 08:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Can you help me?
[edit]Dear Quahadi,
I want to upload files to Commons, but I don't speak Croatian and can't receive permissions. Can you receive permissions for these files and upload them? (If you have a time, of course).
