deprecated function in your monobook.js

Dear user, I noticed that you use the includePage function in your monobook.js page.

This function is now obsolete, as the importScript function was introduced with rev:35064 to the MediaWiki Javascript core library wikibits.js. It also keeps track of already imported files.

To allow us to remove includePage from Mediawiki:Common.js I'd kindly ask you to replace its use with importScript (same syntax!). Thanks! --Dschwen 17:03, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flickreviewing

Hello Powerek38. I've noticed that you did not upload the original resolution of Image:Olafur Eliasson's Waterfalls under the Brooklyn Bridge.jpg when Flickreviewing it. Please check your previous edits and make sure that the original high resolutions are uploaded to Wikimedia Commons from Flickr.com. Thank you, and keep up the good work! --Kimse (talk) 00:06, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Powerek. As a sysop of Polish Wikipedia, you should know how high resolution images are valuable to Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. Therefore, why not upload the original resolution of images when they're freely available? Please see Quality and description and FAQ for reference. I will mention the instructions template that you gave me at the discussion page of Flickr images/reviewers as you mentioned it doesn't say anything about the image resolution. Thanks, Kimse (talk) 23:42, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An offering for our new administrator from your comrades...

Powerek38, congratulations! You now have administrator rights on Commons. Please take a moment to read the Commons:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Commons:Administrators' noticeboard and its subpages), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care. Have a look at the list of Gadgets (on the bottom there are the ones specifically for admins – however, for example the UserMessages are very helpful too).

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.libera.chat. There is also a channel for Commons admins, which may be useful for more sensitive topics, or coordination among administrators: #wikimedia-commons-admin webchat.

You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading. You can find the admin backlog overview at COM:AB.

Please also check or add your entry to the List of administrators and the related lists by language and date it references.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping out! Patrícia msg 23:15, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just to inform you. I believe the images are tagged with nld wrongfully. If you look at the template on them and compare it with the date should there not have been made a ordenary deletion request? --MGA73 (talk) 22:13, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can read more here Commons_talk:Licensing#Deprecated_licenses and here Commons:Undeletion_requests#Speedy.27ed_files_with_.7Bmilitary_insignia.7D. It is possible to make a DR with several files so it is not needed to have thousands of DR. I hope that a DR could make more people help checking licenses and maybe help finding free images. DR's are seen by more than a nld is. --MGA73 (talk) 23:03, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Upr CE.jpg

I see you speak Polish and English. Could you have a look at the description of File:Upr CE.jpg? The English doesn't make much sense; I'm guessing that "pattern" was meant to be "patent", but even that seems a bit unlikely and archaic. Should it just be "certificate"? (The Polish Certyfikatora seems awfully close to that.) Anyway, if you can improve the English description here & maybe the categories, I'd appreciate it. Category:Architecture is not really very useful. Thanks in advance. - Jmabel ! talk 07:52, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Files still awaiting OTRS confirmation

Hello, Powerek38. The file(s) listed below have been marked with {{OTRS received}}, but there has been no complete confirmation of its permission status in the last 30 days. From what I'm able to tell, you were the person who added this template. Would you mind taking a look at this again? If confirmation cannot be found, this file should probably be marked for deletion. This should be the only notification you will receive regarding this image, so long as the comment I added to the image description page is not altered. Thanks! Pay attention to copyright
File:Stlucia.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Category:Okopisko at Jagiellońska Street in Sanok, rewerty i wandalizmy 46.174.26.245 (Silar)

Pozdrawiam, pjahr @ 18:00, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Czyli problemem jest umieszczenie w kategorii Category:Location maps of cities of Masovian Voivodeship zamiast Category:Locator maps of cities of Masovian Voivodeship, tak? O to chodzi? Pozdrawiam, pjahr @ 19:43, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

top = 51.177972,
bottom = 51.092950,
left = 23.398819,
right = 23.576176,
:D --wkaczura (talk) 08:20, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Dorset beaminster ch sunset 02.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

De-adminship

Hi Powerek38,
I'm very sorry to let you know that following your prolonged period of inactivity as an administrator and under criterion #3 of our admin inactivity policy, I requested the removal of your admin privileges on this project, and the request has now been fulfilled by a Wikimedia steward through Meta. As you are an experienced editor and per our custom, I have added you to the "autopatrolled" user group instead. I would like to use this opportunity to thank you for your service to our community, and I hope that you will continue editing Commons as a regular contributor, too. Of course, please do feel free to re-apply for adminship when you get more active.

P.S. Do zobaczenia wkrótce! odder (talk) 01:43, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Defaultsort

Greetings! I'm curious about this edit. I see that the article still sorts correctly in its categories; is this achieved through the Wikidata infobox? If so, what functionality of Wikidata achieves the defaultsort? No need for a ping as I've added your talk page to my watchlist. Schwede66 08:44, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Schwede66: Hello! Yes, this is achieved by Wikidata infobox, but I'm just a humble user of this template, I havent't designed it or coded it. Could you please ask your question again on the template's talk page, which is watched by its main author and other contributors? I'm sure the answer you'll get there will be far more competent. Thank you! Powerek38 (talk) 09:44, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lowdown (talk) 05:55, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Didur

Hej!

User z UKR Микола Василечко bez jakiejkolwiek dyskusji lub próby podjęcia dyskusji z innymi użytkownikami zlikwidował w projekcie multilingualnym commons tradycyjne nazwy polskie i wprowadził hybrydy angielsko-austrowęgierskie (uhlan z niemieckiego to po angielsku lancer} Category:1st Krechowce Uhlan Regiment, Category:2nd Grochow Uhlan Regiment, Category:3rd Silesian Uhlan Regiment, Category:5th Zaslaw Uhlan Regiment, Category:7th Lublin Uhlan Regiment, Category:8th Uhlan Regiment of Duke Jozef Poniatowski, Category:9th Lesser Poland Uhlan Regiment, Category:10th Lithuanian Uhlan Regiment, Category:11th Legions Uhlan Regiment, Category:12th Podolian Uhlan Regiment, Category:14th Jazlowiec Uhlan Regiment, Category:19th Volhynian Uhlan Regiment, Category:23rd Grodno Uhlan Regiment, Category:24th Uhlan Regiment, Category:25th Greater Poland Uhlan Regiment, Category:26th Greater Poland Uhlan Regiment po prostu zadecydował że tak będzie i już. Pułki te były pułkami polskimi i nie należały do żadnych formacji międzynarodowych czy wielokulturowych bądź wieloetnicznych. Jako kontrprzykład uszanowania tradycji narodowych, kultury i dowodu na projekt multilingualny podaję kategorię Category:Cavalry regiments of the Army of the German Empire gdzie nazewnictwo tradycyjnych pułków jest po niemiecku ... i logicznie nikomu nie przeszkadza. Zgłosiłem sprawę do administracji projektu i gdyby doszło do dyskusji na ten temat to proszę o wzięcie udziału w takowej. Dzięki z góry i pozdrawiam. 77.6.172.89 05:01, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Powerek38 (talk) 07:13, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
