Notification about possible deletion

[edit]
Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Final Exam.pdf, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Hello Naveedafghan100200300400500, the following content you uploaded violates one or more of our policies and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:

File:Deferrences between religions.pdf

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files with a realistic educational purpose and that can be used for any purpose, including:
  • use in any work, regardless of content
  • creation of derivative works
  • commercial use
  • free distribution

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

Page blanking

[edit]

I reported you to the AN/V, but since you're not a new user, please read Commons:Licensing and Commons:Scope very carefully, I reviewed your one (currently standing) upload and it seemed fine, but please don't blank user pages like you did here, I think 🤔 that you have the potential to be a great editor here, but fair use images should be uploaded to Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons is for commercially usable and completely free images. I hope that you will take my advice and that the administrators won't be too rough on you, if you have any questions please consult Commons:Help desk or the village pump, I'm here to help too.

But please don't blank people's user pages most people edit here in good intent and them deleting your content has to do with copyright © and is not personal. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 16:40, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to directly upload files 📁 to the English Wikipedia for usage in articles you could do it here, but please research if there are free alternatives first. If you truly are the author then kindly read Commons:OTRS. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 16:42, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

thanks dear jdx,

The media you have deleted from my account was important to me, let me get them after that you or I will delete, and will attempt not to make you sad and will work according to the policies of commons. @Jdx: You could e-mail them to this user, these files look like they took a lot of research. And I think that they understand Wikimedia Commons a bit better now, maybe they didn't save these files locally.

@Naveedafghan100200300400500: have you considered posting your images to the Internet Archive or some other file storing website that would welcome them? --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 16:53, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Imgur is another such website that comes to mind, or you could post them to the Facebook and set it to "private" as they fall outside of scope here. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 16:55, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Most text documents are not accepted here and will be deleted. If they are not your own work and not freely licensed, they are especially unwelcome. Please read Commons:Project scope carefully before uploading more files, because this type of content will be deleted. Also you may be blocked from editing if you continue to upload such files.

If your only copy of these files was on Wikimedia Commons, please understand that this is not a personal media hosting service. Google Drive may be more suited to your needs. If you want me to retrieve the deleted files and send them to you, send me an email. Guanaco (talk) 19:18, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
