Template:Technique/it

Ciao. Sì, ho tentato di modificare il sottotemplate per l'italiano richiamato da quello generale, ma non funziona perchè il ciclo if non viene richiamato e "vince" sempre quello più generale. L'idea era quella di un parametro in più ("prep" appunto) per poter specificare la preposizione fra "olio" e "tela" (esempio). Purtroppo credo vada modificato il template generale, cosa che è molto più complicata. Se ho tempo vedo di fare qualche tentativo.--Trixt (talk) 20:06, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

No no, non sei tu: anche se si capisce il concetto, è sicuramente grammaticalmente scorretto. Comunque, per ora ho modificato il nome del campo (ci vorrà un po' prima che si aggiorni). Se sai come si traduce in inglese "bassorilievo in marmo" puoi creare il relativo template, come ad esempio {{Oil on canvas}}. Ciao--Trixt (talk) 07:55, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Renaming policy

Hi! Materialscientist correctly stated the Commons policy: we try to avoid moving files unless necessary, because we don't want to break dependencies. File:Black Figured Olpe depicting the return of a hunter and his dog.jpg is ambiguous, but it's not incorrect per se. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 11:16, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. Renaming a file breaks the links from Wikipedias using the picture. Commons also authorises 'hotlinking', i.e. the direct linking to a Commons picture from a third-party website. We can correct the links on Wikipedias with a bot, but it takes some time, and we can't correct the links on third-party websites.

I agree the policy is frustrating for museum artefacts, because there are dozens of black-figured olpai with a hunter and his dog. The best we can do is pay attention to new uploads: if a file is only a few days old, we can rename it with minimal damage. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 11:36, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Amphora types

Hello, as you seem to know the topic much better than me, would you help sort out amphora types on Wikidata (I think eventually, Commons will use Wikidata classification instead of relying on shaky categorization systems). All amphota types should be categorized using the subclass property in a broader type, and ideally some references should be added. I have started a few things in pages like this one, but it is still fairly crude. --Zolo (talk) 09:11, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

sorry, but i'm not very interested on wikidata's properties and all I know about greek ceramics is on commons and it.wiki yet. About sources, you already know ULAN, but there is also AAT.--naamar (m) 17:25, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I'll try to find out myself then :).Once it is fully functiunal, Wikidata properties will be essentially the same as templated artwork descriptions in Commons, just faster and much more powerful). --Zolo (talk) 19:33, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Object classification

Hi, since you work on Template:I18n/objects you might be interested in my preparations for a (long term) replacement of the current classification system by the hierarchical AAT terms. Help would be welcome! If you are yet using AAT terms adding of the Template:I18n/objects–AAT couple to my draft at d:User:Marsupium/Artworks task force item trees would be appreciated. Hi, thanks to you, it seems a good work. Obviously I try always to find a match with the ICCD thesaurus and sometimes there isn't. It is impossible to find a term like antepagmenta in AAT, but it seems the correct term for certain objects.--naamar (m) 17:59, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
