Interstate 95 in.... whatever County

[edit]

So, are you considering splitting off more county-specific categories for the commons galleries of Interstate 95 in South Carolina? I actually think there should be some Interstate 95 in North Carolina images split off as well, but I'm not sure where I want to start with that one? ----DanTD (talk) 16:16, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, started doing that now in South Carolina. --Mjrmtg (talk) 01:28, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I also created county-specific categories for images in Interstate 95 in Connecticut a while back, and I think I might be the only person moving the images to those categories. ----DanTD (talk) 16:01, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. File:Brunswick River and Sidney Lanier Bridge, Georgia, USA.JPG is at Brunswick, Georgia, US, not New South Wales. Bubba73 (talk) 04:37, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that. It was originally just in the Brunswick River category which I thought was all just photos from New South Wales. I moved all photos from Brunswick River to Brunswick River (New South Wales) then created Brunswick River (Georgia U.S. state). --Mjrmtg (talk) 09:51, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I don't know if there are others of the Georgia river other than mine. Bubba73 (talk) 18:06, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Locating a site on I-20

[edit]

Though I really don't get to use any part of Interstate 20 in Georgia I found the location of one image that you tagged as being unidentified. ----DanTD (talk) 21:57, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Zoom in on that BGS in the distance and you'll see that it is for Exit 68 in Atlanta.
Good job sleuth. :) --Mjrmtg (talk) 00:32, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion requests

[edit]

Hello!

If you file similar DRs on files uploaded by the same person you can make a batch request using VisualFileChange instead of making lots of single page deletion requests. I fixed all of the ones at user:Jonteemil/sandbox into Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Mohammed Nazem Raddad Al - Salami.Jonteemil (talk) 19:26, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing them. I couldn't figure out the VisualFileChange. I will look into it more in the future. --Mjrmtg (talk) 20:52, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please do. It might seem complicated at first, but when you get the hang of it it all makes sense. I remember myself filing deletion requests in the beginning. This was me before VisualFileChange. Wasn't very appreciated by the closing admin...Jonteemil (talk) 21:37, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you can check the speedy deletion criteria before filing a deletion request. For example "Unused personal photo, out of scope" most often doesn't need a deletion request, since it's pretty much identical to CSD F10. {{Selfie}} is then enough.Jonteemil (talk) 11:50, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ocala area photos and others

[edit]

Today, I went out on a quest for photographs of some of the sites on your list, among them the Marion County Public Library Headquarters, and I succeeded with that. ----DanTD (talk) 23:45, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

However, tonight I discovered that User:Jenniferhrw got one 6.5 years earlier.
Thanks for the heads up - I've removed it from my list. --Mjrmtg (talk) 18:32, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your welcome. And did you see the other items you can remove from your list? ----DanTD (talk) 14:55, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm checking out the others you photographed. That's great, I will remove them from my list. WhisperToMe used to make requests on my talk page of things for me to photograph. That Ocala area list came from him. I just haven't gotten down there yet. --Mjrmtg (talk) 10:45, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Category discussion warning

Girls reading in art has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

I-95 in Effingham County, Georgia

[edit]

There is a portion of I-95 in Effingham County, Georgia north of the bridges over Knoxboro Creek that contains no interchanges or anything else other than signs. I know that we don't have that many pictures of the Interstate from Effingham County, but I thought I start off adding the relevant categories for the time being, until more images are added. ----DanTD (talk) 02:45, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I-10 Rest Area 20111

[edit]

I just saw your category for Category:Interstate 10 rest area 20111, Florida. That rest area is in Suwannee County, and the images you have for this are from 20121. ----DanTD (talk) 00:56, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I clicked on
, clicked on the camera location coordinates and it took me to the rest area in Baker County on the southside of I10. My photo has the Osceola National Forest sign in it and so does the Google Street View at that location. --Mjrmtg (talk) 10:02, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that. I'm going to move them to the proper category, and redirect the incorrect category until images of that rest area can be found. ----DanTD (talk) 15:41, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
