Hello Minorax, why did you delete his images [[1]]? Knowing that there was no majority for deletion or for backup, there was just Taivo for deletion and me for backing up his files. This is the first time that I see a deletion when there is a perfect tie, from what I have been told, the files are supposed to be kept or there could be an extension of the vote by a week to see if a decision stands out, otherwise it would keep. I would like to understand better, I asked an admin on his facebook page, he himself was astonish, it's not very democratic as a way of doing things. I want an explanation. As mentioned by Taivo, Wikimedia Commons prohibits any fair use files and the related files surpasses the threshold of originality for it to be free enough. The French Wikipedia permits fair use, so you can follow their local policy and upload the files there. Alternatively, if you have the permission of the designer of the logo(s), kindly ask them to send in their permission to COM:OTRS so the local files can be undeleted. Thank you, Minorax. I recently came across another issue that needs admin attention. While working permissions, I came across Ticket #2019082610010373, and found that the uploaded images show the author to be Hermógenes Teixeira Pinto Filho but the ticket info states differently. I also found that none of the 9 uploaded images (uploaded in 2019) are in use and made note of that in the ticket. I became curious over the activity and followed through with a quick review of the user's upload history and discovered that a substantial number of uploads are not used on WP at all. The user may well have good intentions but at first glance, their efforts appear more like they are adding images to their personal repository on Commons. Also noting that many of the images are not the kind of quality we expect in our articles. Your thoughts? Atsme Talk 📧 11:15, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Alejandro Moreno Merino

The file Alejandro moreno merino .jpg was deleted by you as "Commons is not private photo album. Not used." The uploader seems less acquainted to our procedures, so may not have been able to defend the image himself (there was a nonsensical undelete request with wrong filename). It seems though that the uploads are far from a private photo album. Instead it seems a close relative is an author and teacher. I don't know whether the person is notable enough for Wikipedia, but that is not our concern.

I think the images of this author are in scope. Why would we not want to have them? I haven't seen the deleted one, but I suppose it could complete the picture – I suppose these were selected for a biography the uploader is writing for Wikipedia.

@LPfi: Hi, it seems that the account you mentioned is a promotion-only account (see Commons:Project_scope#Examples). Even if the person is in scope, permission would be needed from the photographer. --Minoraxtalk 11:15, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
You mean "Examples of files that are not realistically useful for an educational purpose: [...] Advertising or self-promotion."?
I would never have written the policy like that. If Coca Cola Company donates a big bunch of its marketing material, would that be deleted as not in scope? Any and all current advertisements not in scope? Are we not trying to cover that area? Or allowing only historic advertisements?
I think "self-promotion" is excluded from scope to avoid forcing us to host junk advertisements of never-heard firms. It is nothing we ourselves should take into account when deciding whether a certain image has educational value.
For these images: this is a real person, potentially worthy of an article on Wikipedia. For Wikipedia in Swedish, two books published at an established publishing house and some publicity is enough for relevance. The uploader listed five books for Alejandro Moreno Merino. These could for all I know be 20-page self published stories (I don't know where to search for Mexican books), but if not, I would be very sorry for not having those images if I were to write the article, perhaps twenty years from now.

Ok, I apologise for the scope part and have no objections to it being undeleted. However, it is a 480x480 file and the uploader is in the said file, which is an incorrect licensing and permission from the photographer and/or link to the original file is needed. --Minoraxtalk 23:48, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
OK. I did not make the connection between Alex and Alejandro (why didn't I see it?). So yes, we should ask for clarification on the relation between the two, and photographer name and permission unless the uploader is the photographer. My Spanish is weak, though.
I notice that two of the photos, taken different years, seem to be taken with the same camera. That seems to indicate they are taken by the uploader's camera or by an acquaintance. The oldest of them is taken with a different camera, but buying a new one happens. Could you temporarily undelete the fifth file, so that it would be easier to discuss?

Hi, Minorax! Please see File:Trump statue.jpg, File:Trump statue image.jpg, and Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_uploaded_by_Superfaces. They are photographs of a statue (artwork, if you can call it that), but we have nothing at OTRS stating (1) the uploader is the copyright owner of the statue or (2) the uploader has legal permission to photograph the statue and release the image under a CC-BY-SA 4.0 International license. Blackpink Rosé file approval/questions

Hi! I had uploaded screenshots of Rosé Park for her 2021 and 2020 categories on Commons, (see here) and it was labeled a copyright violation, however I used the same procedure as this file,as a reference and since it was accepted - I linked my source, so I'm just curious why mine has been striked.(It was labeled by another user, I just thought to come to you since I know you review a lot of K-pop content here)

See the video description at [2] where "Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)" can be seen. 管理員Minorax，請問對於某一位來自台灣的不合作維基用戶，我可以怎麼辦？之前在COM:VP有報告過這個人的問題，他的情況是先找理由不來溝通，同一時間他跑去維基以外的地方表示他的立場，這當中我有幾次電郵給他，我也有耐心向他解釋我們的COM:OTRS政策，不過他不僅對我的話斷章取義，甚至曲解了我們的政策，導致他對我們誤解愈來愈大，演變成他在維基以外的地方控訴是我們對他的照片不友善（他認為這是在強迫他）。Jmabel告訴我，他說我不是管理員，不需要做這種事。既然這一位來自台灣的不合作維基用戶不能理解為何我們要求他的照片要通過OTRS，按照你是管理員來看這件事，你會建議我未來依然需要先向用戶溝通，還是如Jmabel所說，我只需要做我該做的，不需要費心向他溝通去取得他接受我們在執行COM:OTRS政策？因為不止是這一位台灣用戶，我還發現是很多位都有這樣「不理解」問題，甚至有的人在某種程度上是達到抗拒、不合作。之前Reke與中文維基那些管理員，他們有要我先向台灣用戶釋出善意，所以我才會去做我本來不該做的事，以致於我被這些不合作的台灣用戶浪費我時間，而且還被他們在維基以外的地方去指責我、抹黑我，這對我而言，的確令我困擾，也會影響到我在commons.wikimedia原本進行的有益編輯，需要從管理員獲取建議，以便於我可以參考我未來可以怎麼做，謝謝。--Kai3952 (talk) 13:37, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

@Kai3952: 您好。第一点：诺该用户所上传的文件是有问题的，最简单的方法就是提出删除请求。如果该用户不听劝告，您也别浪费自己的时间与力气。封禁方针有明确地说"重复上传不符合共享资源版权方针的文件也会导致封禁。"第二点：依照我对IPv6的了解，2402:7500:4DC:A091:304F:AD6F:984E:40BF和2402:7500:4DC:A091:7470:C6E7:889F:D1F6应该是同一个人。我不是用户查核员，所以不知IP是否是吹笛牧童。况且，CU不能透露用户的IP地址。--Minoraxtalk 12:31, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

另外，在向你報告此事時，為了避免有人因為User:吹笛牧童扮演受害人的陳述而被誤導，所以我將之前的討論張貼在這裡，證明這是有經過社群共識，確認他上傳的照片的確有必要經過OTRS，並不是我的「個人問題」造成。至於告知與溝通之責，根據歷史紀錄可以知道照片是JuTa舉報，然後我莫名其妙被User:吹笛牧童責怪，這又不是我應該教他怎麼做，而且在電郵三封信都已經對他說很多，然而他都跑去PTT投訴我，這證明他聽不進別人的話，而不是我不肯幫他，是不是他不合作，這可以交由未來他的行為是否再犯而去裁定，所以目前我們可以知道，對於無理取鬧之人，的確一點也沒辦法。由於IP發言是將我貼上疾病標籤，可能有人身攻擊或侮辱性言論，我會向COM:AN請求刪除他的發言。再一次感謝@Minorax: 。--Kai3952 (talk) 13:01, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

關於「重复上传不符合共享资源版权方针的文件也会导致封禁」

由於有人持續鬧場，所以我另開話題，這麼詢問會比較清楚。之前已經向Jeff G.、Krd討論過封禁，不過他們認為對於自己不熟悉的語言（中文），在處理上需要找一位熟悉此語言（中文）的管理員，因此往往難有達到封禁成效。按照過去例子來看，除非有用戶違規程度達到像寺人孟子那樣大規模，那麼封禁就沒有語言問題。儘管我的英文程度仍足以向他們報告用戶問題與違規情況，然而Davey2010既不是管理員，也不懂中文（我所張貼用戶對話的連結），卻不時地跑來摻和，甚至連我舉報用戶人身攻擊，他也叫我回去專心在commons編輯上。我前有台灣人Reke干涉我查緝侵權（包括阻礙請求OTRS），後有英國人Davey2010擾亂，這二個人作為對於commons沒什麼幫助，反而徒增我舉報上困難，更不用妄想使違規用戶被封禁。我想請教您，依你身為管理員，又能明白中文，當你看到Reke、Davey2010、吹笛牧童這三個人情況時，你有什麼好的建議給我？--Kai3952 (talk) 08:01, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

我對於 wiki 不是熱情於編修文化面，而是傾盡全力拉幫結派，拉攏誰，要求去疏遠誰，已經累了。 我一開始就不認識來信者，相交不深，也沒有喜惡，不會有陷害他的動機。 在維基的編輯是以文化面為成就感，而不是證明別人有毛病，要求一定要處罰他當做成就感。 不是為了證明自己沒有錯，就一定要把錯推到別人身上。 把錯誤推給誤會，然後讓一切歸零，活在當下，繼續有新的貢獻，這才是我希望的。

如果我因為不熟悉維基的政策而被封禁，我只會再 new 一個新的 ID，重頭開始；就當做我以前累積的小小成就被歸零是我的處罰好了，這是可以欣然接受的事。 如果不許 new 新 ID，必需被認出來是同一人，而處罰也必需延續的話， 那就算了，那我就回到實體生活去用別的方法創造及參與文化。

最後我還是要強調：來信者也是受害者。 雖然這給了他立論攻擊我，但他的確是受害者。

如果看過兩個都是對的人互相傷害，就可以了解這些話不是矛盾。 相信所有被牽扯進來的圍觀者，更想做的是如何保護每個人，包括我在內。 沒有人是壞人，而是同一個身體裡面，同時住著好心腸和壞心腸。 我們對於壞的念頭予以關懷，希望壞心腸可以走出陰霾， 而不是非要指責哪一個人是壞人，要他受到處罰為止！

@Cabayi: Hello. As far as I can see, I don't see any alarming issues with it. However, I'd have some suggestions for parts of the proposal.
  1. No comments on first point.
  2. I don't think there's a hard rule that an admin needs to personally verify the advertising content on a wiki, if a local admin thinks that it is an advert, the commons admin can delete the image based on mutual trust. Perhaps this can be removed?
  3. What does "cross-wiki evidence" actually mean? Is it to verify that the deleted content is similar to the home wiki of the person investigating or is to check for possible socks that does not have any edits on any wiki but could've tripped a local edit filter? If it's the latter, global abuse filter helper might be a better option. AFAIK, cross-wiki socking will most probably be made known to/by a global sysop, global rollbacker, or anyone with a strong cross-wiki presence. Could these users be pinged on SPI pages for comments instead?
  4. Personally, I think that "Global Admin View" should be changed to something that doesn't indicate that the usergroup has administrative capabilities. "Global content viewer" seems like a better name.
There's a similar proposal in the past and there hasn't been any updates since it was closed. Perhaps you can take a look at it. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 11:43, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

I noticed User:Shahriar Islam Alvi's user page deleted from enwiki under U5. His user page here have no information about his contribution on Wikimedia projects. And I think this page contains self-promo. What do you think? This user is already blocked from bnwiki for some reason (attack on other user on social media, cross wiki abuse, self-promotion), got final warning on enwiki and most of the article and wikidata item created by him has been deleted for self-promo. There should be footprints in the sand showing clearly what has happened. It seems that this isn't the case. Can you now reinstate the images while we have a proper look at them please?
As you can see, User:CommonsDelinker hasn't deleted the bad red links. Do you have a tool to check if CD has done its job or are you deleting in the dark? ? Leaving loads of similar bad red links on WP articles is verging on vandalism. Can you raise this please with User:CommonsDelinker, as the red links were caused by you. Hi Minorax. I notice that you recently closed this deletion discussion that I started. You deleted some of the listed files, but not others. I'm curious about what should be done with those that were not deleted - they seem to be in limbo. They still have the deletion nomination template on the file pages, but there is now no open discussion pertaining to them. I think you only intended to close the request opened by Mjrmtg on 13 December, but you have also closed the request that you opened yourself on 19 December, which has the same name, without deleting any of the nominated files. Dear Minorax, sorry, but what on hell is wrong with you? Could you please explain why a bunch of file? Would your Highness have the grace to explain reasonably and on a factual level why all these tedious and laboriously produced files were deleted in a blind act of arbitrariness? You are welcome to delete, but you should have the decency and the spiritual maturity to explain this in a comprehensible manner. Even if Tabuľa víťazov Komárno Komárom.jpg is own work, you had a history of claiming files which aren't own work as your own work. So I'm sceptical about it.
