Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

WP spammer
[edit]Thanks for picking up those images. All deleted and user indef banned - regards --Herby talk thyme 13:33, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Let me know if you see anything I can help with - other than blocking vandals I have a strange attraction to eliminating spam with considerable prejudice!! --Herby talk thyme 08:16, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Mike, while I can assure you that the painting depicted here is an accurate and true copy of the original painting (it is not Photoshopped or a joke - it was really painted that way), the painting itself may be a different copy of the piece, which explains the difference between this image and the other copies of the image. Notice also that the clothing on the woman is different in the two pieces (look around the neck). Please feel free to revert any usages of this painting where you would rather use the other version, and I'll remove the superseded tags. Dcoetzee (talk) 04:06, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. INeverCry 00:52, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
You tagged it {{Delete}} but didn't start an actual COM:DR. Did you mean to tag {{Speedydelete}}, or did a DR-nom helper script malfunction/abort before finishing the process? DMacks (talk) 08:23, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
- @DMacks: Well, beats me; I thought I had marked it with {{Speedy}}. (Did I use {{delete|Reason}}? If so, then I think it was really a mistake on my part.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:20, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- Pretty moot point now! I added some support to the nom regardless of the method, and now it's gone. Well, happy editing, onward... DMacks (talk) 06:40, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
