Hi Lady Anu, I have reverted your latest changes, because the colors of the original picture are better balanced. The greyish fingers of the musician look like dead in your version. Quite spooky. --Zinnmann 08:30, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT (talk) 06:11, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Mongolia 1500 AD.jpg
[edit]Hi, you uploaded File:Mongolia 1500 AD.jpg, declaring it as "Own work by uploader". I guess this means that you added the strange distorted text, but what is the source of the actual map? The coloration looks like a map of the Mongol Empire at its largest extent. I've never seen you draw maps before, so it seems unlikely that you created that as well. If you took it from somewhere else, then this must be indicated in the description, because that makes it a derivative work. Thanks for any information. --Latebird (talk) 09:52, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, I understand you don't like the quality of the map, I'm not skilled in it. I waited for User:Talessman so loooong to create maps covering the periods after the year 1200. As it didn't happen, I decided to make one myself. I'll try to find a raw map to make it again. Lady Anu (talk) 06:39, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
