Shortology images

Hi JuTa. I'm trying to create again the page "shortology". The author of the images (Matteo Civaschi) sent his permission to the address "permissions-commons@wikimedia.org" on April the 14th, but the images have been deleted. How can I upload again the images or some of them? This is the list of the images already uploaded:

Hi, in such cases you should include the template {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page, best with {{subst:OP}}; then you get the correct (current) date paremeters. This will prevent the deletion until the so called OTRS stuff will decide the case as valid or invalid, or until a maximum number of days which refects the current backlog in OTRS (currently its 75 days as far as I know). Alternatively for the current images, you could ask on Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard for them. About this, the OTRS was rejected as there was no clear permission to release the file, and the owner didn't respond to correct the issues. I think it can be eliminated now as the other file uploaded by the user. Willy Weazley 15:23, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed that you deleted picture of Bohuslav Sobotka from vlada.cz but I don't think you're right because this page http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/cz/deed.en says that material can be used with credit and without commercial use and derivatives. Can you explain this to me please? Thanks

You talking about File:Stephen-Harper-January-26-2012.png, correct? It looks like the flickr user changed the license after it was checked OK on commons. As these licenses are inrecoverable it is still allowed to use it commercialy. Deletion of images of Sophie Robert and poster of Le Mur

Hi Jufa. You recently removed the above mentioned images from Commons on the ground that there is no OTRS permission since 8 February for them. I'm assisting the person who is the owner of the copyright for these images and who wants to put them on Wikimedia Commons. She sent an email in February as per instructions confirming that she owns the rights, but to no avail. Hi, please ask on Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard for this case. If everything checks out OK they will undelete the image. There is a huge backlog on the OTRS procedure, currently upto 63 days (see Category:OTRS pending), but we cannot keep such images "for ever" without a confirmation from OTRS stuff. Hallo JuTa, im Detail hast du Recht, allerdings muss man dafür schon beide Grafiken mit einem Grafikprogramm (farblich unterschiedlich) übereinanderlegen, ansonsten kann man in Fragen SVG mir schon einigermaßen vertrauen. Der Unterschied ist eine symmetrische Verbesserung (und Zentrierung der Grafik an die Bildschirmgröße) beide ursprünglichen W waren schon identisch (das Clean war eine minimale Code- und Knoten-Vereinfachung, die absolut keine neue Version rechtfertigte) zudem überlappten beide die Leinwandgröße, also sind an den Enden abgeschnitten. Aber ich habe nun die Grafik noch einmal im Detail angepasst. Ich gebe zu dass eine komplette Ersetzung hier nicht angemessen ist (in Anbetracht der Anzahl der Einbindungen), sonder ein Redirect zureichen müsste. @:File:Emblem-favorite.png‎, gebe ich dir Recht, die kleineren Pixelversionen können zuweilen noch (mit Rastergrafik-Programmen) nachbearbeitet worden sein (Kontrast). Daher können die Pixelversionen tatsächlich in ihrer nativen Größe besser aussehen als die SVG (zumal hier auch andere Vektorvorlagen zugrunde liegen können, vgl. GNOME). I asked the site where it was published if there are any copyright issues about the image. Well, you could ask the copright holder, which is normaly the photographer, if he likes to publish the image under a free license ({{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} is recommanded). If the agrees he has to send an email to the commons support team a documented on Commons:OTRS. Once you know the email was sent, you better replace the problem tag with {{subst:OP}}. This will prevent deletion until the case will be decided by OTRS stull a vali or invalid or for a maximum of 63 days (currently). "No OTRS permission"

Hi JuTa. I just had an interesting comment in an OTRS ticket that I had never considered before. The requestor found the deletion summary "No OTRS permission" confusing and misunderstood it to mean that they had to get permission from OTRS in order to upload the image. Is that deletion summary coming from a template or a semi-automated tool like Twinkle? As a possible suggestion, could it be changed to say "No permission from the copyright holder processed by OTRS" or something like that? --B (talk) 17:01, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, thats the standard reason when an admin pressed the "paper bin" if a {{OTRS pending}} image runs "out of time". Its likely definded in that template or within one of the sub-templates of it. "Missing permission"

Hi, every image on commons has to be published under a free license, which allows anybody in the worl to reuse for any prupose even commercialy - compare Commons:Licensing. The problem with that image was it was ust copied from facebook. Facebook images are generally not compatible with commons. Hi, every image on commons has to be published under a free license - see Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright tags. On your image such a license-template is completely missing. Only the copyight holder can give uch a license. Your image looks tike a movie or TV screenshot, which makes it had to etermine the copyright holder. Its likely the director of the movie shown. You would need to find this person, and ask him/her if he/she likes to pulish that images under a free license o his/her choice. Hi, yes there was an {{OTRS pending}} since 16. February 2015, without any reaction from OTRS staff later. After some weeks this template automacticly adds a {{No OTRS permission since}} which makes them eligle for deletion one week after. The timespan differs depending on the backlog of the OTRS staff, currently its 68 days (see Category:OTRS pending). You may like to ask on Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard for this case. I mean, I paied attention to every license detail taking inspiration from other pics added from the same source and then why a pic with all my same licenses and details still is here and mine got ripped off?

Deleted picture

I would also like to know what was the reason for deleting my pictrue from wiki commons. The name was File:Edyta_Nawrocka_main_pic.jpg I'm sure i got all metadata right and besides, I'm the author so i believe i have right to upload a picture and give rights for use.

This logo was taken from Politic Parties' homepage & used in the wiki page of the same Politic party (PVO) партиявеликоеотечество.рф (top left corner). Every image on commons has to be useable for anybody in the world for any purpose (including commercialy), not only on "their" wikipedia pages - see Commons:Licensing. If you upload an image you permit everybody to use it anywhere. And you can only permit that if you have to rights to do so. Hi, the Sigmund Freud image is looking likely as {{PD-old}} because its likely made in the 1860s an the photografer should have died before 1945 (70 years ago). The other images looking just like copyright violations, I'm afraid. --JuTa 20:33, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

As far as I can see Freu never lived in the USA. If it was made i.e. in Austria it would be protected until 70 years past the death of the photografer (not the model). After several weeks such files become eligable for deletion and automatcly sorted into Category:Media missing permission. Thanks for clarifying, and thanks for releasing a lot of great, iconic photos under a CC licence. Feel free to add as much detail as you can about the photos when uploading them - I noticed a few of your Dim Sum photos were just described as being from "an indie film" without naming it. Hallo JuTa, der file ist auf enwiki und dort zum Transfer auf commons getaggt, aber noch nicht transferiert. Autor hat ihn freigegeben. Ich habe transfer versucht, war mir aber zu kompliziert. M.E. gut geeignet, einfacher und besser als die Grafiken , die in der Kategorie "Symmetry" versammelt sind. Ob du den file von enwiki rüberschieben kannst?
