Because of your past behavior, for each of the signs you want to upload, I need proof that it is used in an official capacity in the jurisdiction where you write it is used as per COM:EVID. Need Suggestion

Hi Jeff,

I am a long time contributor and have uploaded many images. Issue is I have uploaded a lot of images where there is no freedom of panorama in 2018 and they are being deleted one by one. I got your message about my account may be going to be blocked. While this was not in my knowledge previously but thanks. In the current times I am little bit more educated regarding freedom of panorama and copyright stuff. What do you suggest. Shall I delete all the old images or anything specific. @Jnanaranjan sahu: Please consult COM:FOP India specifically and COM:FOP generally. Any images (of modern buildings or other subjects that were created by others) you uploaded in situations in which you did not have FOP in a particular jurisdiction may be nominated for deletion by you, preferably en masse on a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction basis. Well I kind of got to know many things eventually ever since I started uploading to Wikimedia commons and that is part of the learning. The deletions are okay when there is policy violation. I surprised by the final warning message you have written on my talk page which was reverted later by an admin. Are there stages of warning, I am curious to know. Please shed some lights. Ahhh 11 years ago. Could you tell me more about it regarding where I can learn regarding the warnings, levels and getting blockes etc.

When I said delete it, I meant adding deletion request to images I have uploaded which are under same category. So that more images of mine which may be falling under the FOP violation may be only requested for deletion by me and the fear of my account may get blocked will not bother me. Thank you. About the copyright of uploaded files

About the copyright warning

Hi, Jeff, Yesterday you left a message on my talk page asking me to stop copyright violations, which really surprised me so I always indicate the source and propper licenses in the files I upload.

Maybe you warned me because of the several DR notifications that user @Günther Frager: has been posting on my talk; those DR referred to photographs which are PD in Argentina but not in the US because of the URAA, and the fact that GF tagged some of those images as "copyvio" directly. I need to clarify that all of those files were uploaded in good faith based on the results of this discussion, which I used as reference. Since I was notified this debate was not in force anymore after discussing it with Günther Frager, I have not been uploading post-1971 photos.

I have +19,000 files uploaded here (much of them are own works, also), of course I could have committed mistakes. But not voluntarily. Thanks. Fma12 (talk) 10:03, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

The four similar warnings were not blatant copyvios but PD-Argentina photos affected by the URAA issue (as I explained above). In fact, those "copyvio" tags were switched to a regular DR (see here). I'm far from being a serial uploader of copyright violations so your warning does not apply in those cases. Fma12 (talk) 15:22, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

I have marked several images from Fma12 to speed deletion as they were published after 1 March 1989 when the US entered the Berne Convention. These are not URAA cases and there is no real need to discuss them. I also marked several from Fma12 for DR and I tagged them properly with the "URAA-related deletetion requests" category. I coincide with Fma12 that only a small part of his uploads falls in this category and I think his contributions of historical images of Argentina (what I'm cleaning from licensing issues at the moment) is very valuable. The side effect of raising suspicious of him as a serial copyvio uploader was not my intention. Günther Frager (talk) 11:05, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Just a relieved comment

As I am often struggling with some tools or gadgets I was relieved to see at the discussion about good images at the help desk that for once a tool didn't for someone else (you) but it works for me. The tool that doesn't work for me is the image annotator so if I edit with that one, or want to see some image annotations I change accounts. Why are you sending me to read nonsocial? I not interested in "chat with your friends, create personal profile", etc. I am afraid you are making some unwarranted assumptions about me.

What I said above was that I was looking for a place on commons where users who are new to photography can ask newbie type questions, a reference desk. I am assuming that commons is interested in gaining more contributors who have something to offer the wiki-movement at large. No?

While I am at it, I would like to inform you that I personally know some very talented photographers who would not touch Commons with a ten foot pole... and now that I have taken out my frustration (you are just part of it), you can go ahead and delete this message and erase the words that I spent valuable time composing,. About my upload

I am nelson, I just want to apologize actually, because I had little to no experience in uploading free images or images I took with my phone, and so far I only uploaded photographs copyrighted, including police mugshots of criminals (I am more of a crime writer type in Wikipedia despite giving wiki updates of kpop from time to time). Hi Jeff G. Would you mind taking a look at File:Lanka Bandaranayake.jpg and its license. There's no EXIF data provided, and it also seems fairly small and of low quality. Hi Again Jeff G. User:Kenne3te doesn't have any global contributions after June 2012, and only made six edits prior to that (two on Commons and four on Sinhala Wikipedia). I figured they were gone for good and is why I didn't post anything about this on their Commons user talk page.
