Hello,
Could you please move File:BSicon STRrf green.svg to File:BSicon fSTRrf.svg over redirect (in line with File:BSicon fSTRlf.svg, File:BSicon fSTRlg.svg & File:BSicon fSTRrg.svg? - The deleted ones were deleted because they came from other websites/internet sources. The problematic ones have no source, and are very small with no EXIF, and one of them looks like an interview screenshot. If you feel you are the copyright holder of these images, then please send an email to COM:OTRS and explain your situation to them. If everything checks out, they will restore the deleted files for you and deal with the problematic ones. INeverCry 18:58, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Question about a deleted picture
Hi INevercry, I work for Gan Assurances's Company and I would like to present it in Wikipedia. Few monthes ago, you delete a picture (Gan-assurances.jpg): the logo of the company and I can't ulpload it anymore... How can I upload again my picture ?
Thanks for you response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delfdi (talk • contribs) 07:24, March 20, 2013 (UTC)
- That particular logo is complex enough to be copyrighted, and so COM:OTRS permission from the company would be needed to restore it and host it on Commons. There are three less complex logos of this company already here on Commons that could be used though: see here. INeverCry 18:46, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Yes but it's the oldest logos for the history of the company. It miss the last one. In this way, it's possible to canceled the old logo : Gan-assurances87.jpg and upload the last please ?
- I don't know what you're asking me to do? The deleted logo is copyrighted because of its complexity. If you want it on Commons, COM:OTRS permission from the company is needed. INeverCry 18:11, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

As I spend long time in reading and watching Wikpedia/Commons articles/images, I think this is an important tag we need, specially for Common images "This image needs a detailed description". Do we have any such tag? --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 09:04, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Tito. We do have one: {{Description insufficient}}. Here's a file that's been tagged with it, so you can see how it looks in use: File:Pietro Perugino - Ceiling decoration - WGA17226.jpg. INeverCry 18:20, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Image undeletion request
Hello.
I've added a permission tag to several articles, including http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Minkowski_plane
That permission references: http://www.mathematik.tu-darmstadt.de/~ehartmann/circlegeom.pdf
I see several images were deleted, which I believe came from that set of lecture notes. These include:
- file:Minkowski-minimal-model.png
- file:Minkowski-axioms-c3-c4.png
- file:Minkowski-axioms-c1-c2.png
- file:Theorem-of-miquel.png
Before today, I had not seen a permission statement that covers both text and images, but I have checked, and it is acceptable.
If you can undelete these, I will add {{PermissionOTRS}}
to each image.
One of us ought to confirm that the image is in the paper. I will be happy to, but if you do, please mention it.
There may be more images, but these are the ones I have found so far.--Sphilbrick (talk) 18:00, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- Restored. I'll leave the confirmations to you. INeverCry 18:05, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

- That logo is iffy. The stylized people shapes are very simple and common, but the arrangement as a whole might be an issue. There's no entry at COM:TOO for India, so it's hard to say. When in doubt, you can always file a DR.
As for the ammount of time I spend here and on en.wiki, I guess "way too much" would sum it up pretty good. We all have our addictions, and since I don't drink, do drugs, smoke, gamble, or even eat junk food, I had to find a good one of my own. I'll find a way to cut down sooner or later. Reason for deletion?
I was away for a few days. Logged in today to find all my uploads deleted. Were the images removed because they are of low resolution? Need a detailed explanation (I'm new to the Commons, so not exactly sure where to post this question). Dee03 (talk) 16:04, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- These were deleted per COM:PRP. INeverCry 21:31, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- So you mean to say these images are not my own work? I'm one of the logistics managers (the ones taking care of the equipment and baggages of players) for domestic cricket tournaments in India, and these images were clicked by "myself" during different times of my tenure. Yes, of course, they are of low-resolution as I don't always carry a professional camera with me during work. But deleting the files just because someone suspects the uploads are not my own work sounds ridiculous. All the images are my own work and free for use over different wikis. Dee03 (talk) 08:22, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- It might sound ridiculous in an isolated case, but when you consider that thousands of images are uploaded each day, and that hundreds of them are taken from the internet, you end up with far too many to look at carefully one by one, hence PRP. A large number of the small/no EXIF images we see are definitely copyvios, but now and then good images get caught up. I'm willing to assume good faith in this case, and so I've restored your uploads. In future, you may want to upload these in original resolution and with EXIF. Even camera phones use EXIF. INeverCry 18:24, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Dear INeverCry, you just deleted File:PeruPrimeMinister-Lima-1995c.jpg, but its an edited copy of File:PeruPrimeMinister-Lima-1995b.jpg. Are you sure that it violated copyright? Regards, Moncasi (talk) 19:43, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello !
I work for the company Gan Assurances in France and I would like to upload the new logo. Can you delete all the pictures about Gan Assurances (3 in all) because I can't upload the new logo !
Thanks for your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delfdi (talk • contribs) 07:50, March 25, 2013 (UTC)
- You can upload anything you want as long as it's not a copyright violation and complies with COM:SCOPE. Just make sure you choose a unique filename. Looking at the 3 logos here, you should probably use a name like File:Gan-assurances13.jpg or whatever the proper year is. Just make sure the logo is simple enough to not be copyrighted, or if it's complex, you contact COM:OTRS to give permission for it before uploading it. INeverCry 16:06, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
Copyvio
Rather than tag the ones that haven't been tagged, I'm pretty sure everything he has uploaded needs to be nuked as a copyvio. [5] Claims to be the author of photos that obviously aren't his. Dennis Brown (talk) 23:29, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, and thanks for the new toys, although for my latest find [6], I still had to do it the old fashioned way, find the thumb then monkey with the url to find the large version this is a copy from. But that is still a good tool for quickly finding the low hanging fruit. I have to do this stuff at work, people steal our images all the time, so in some sick way, I enjoy the hunt when I know it is a copyvio. Dennis Brown (talk) 00:32, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
If you can, please consider filing a DR on this image that this uploader uploaded and filing a form of sanctions on the uploader for mass copyright violations (see my comment in the image talkpage). I reverted my flickrpass here but the image is probably another copyvio. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 00:07, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Question
Hello INeverCry, I'm rather new to this and had many files deleted (list follows). THey are all ok to be put as I have been requested to do so by the copyright holders. Essentially the images are photos of works by Alfred Latour (1888-1964). The type of copyright should state "The copyright holder of this image hereby irrevocably releases all rights to it, allowing it to be freely reproduced, distributed, transmitted, used, modified, built upon, or otherwise exploited in any way by anyone for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. However, as a courtesy, a link back to © Copyright Fondation Alfred Latour. All Rights Reserved. would be appreciated." How can I put this type of copyright back on the images? Thanks very much in advance. Here are the list of images: File:"Paysage"_1938_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Camargue"_1941_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Rizière"_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Paysage"_1938_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Barque"_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Paysage"_1962_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Baudelaire,_Les_fleurs_du_Mal"_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Paul_Claudel,_Partage_de_Midi"_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Autoportrait"_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg ; File:"Reportage"_par_Alfred_Latour.jpg Josephineemilie (talk) 23:12, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Panoramio
Hi, INeverCry. I've tagged {{Copyvio}} with evidences to these files. But the uploader (the sock of User:Sefer ibrahim) removed tags. When you have time, could you control them ? Thank you. Takabeg (talk) 14:17, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
- I've deleted all the Panoramio images and blocked him for a week. I've asked Jim to check into the sock angle and I've mentioned the concerns over the fake OTRS tagging, so the block may become indef. We'll see. INeverCry 19:03, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

(Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 22:34, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, Jim. It's not so difficult. az:İstifadəçi:Sefer azeri (Azerbaijani Wikipedia, see also File:Sefer2.jpg) is the one of the accounts of User:Sefer ibrahim (Commons). az:İstifadəçi:Sefer azeri confessed here. He said "Bir iki gündü panoramiodan Azərbaycan abidələri, təbiəti və mədəniyyəti ilə bağlı bir neçə şəkil transfer etmişəm commonsa." (I've transferred some pictures on monuments, nature and culture of Azerbaijan from panoramio to Commons in these one or two days.) We understand that he thought me of an Armenian user. He said "erməni olduğunu dəqiq bilirəm, rus və türk vikilərində də onun Azərbaycana qarşı fəaliyyəti yaxşı məlumdu." (I exactly know he/she is an Armenian, his/her actions against Azerbaijan were very clear even in Russian and Turkish wikipedias.) And then User:Legends never dies nominated File:Yerevan Opera House.jpg to take revenge on the imagined Armenian. Takabeg (talk) 22:57, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

- OK, I see that he is probably a sock -- but as a CU I can't block him as a sock because I can't CU him. Easiest is probably just to warn him on Commons that if he uploads any more copyvios after the one week block is done, you will give him a much longer block (maybe indef) at once, without further warning. I'd support that. If anyone objects, then you enlist an AZ Checkuser -- or a steward (User:Trijnstel) if AZ doesn't have CUs and work it from that end. . Jim . . . . - The admin whose name was attached to the OTRS ticket on the image I mentioned at your talk has deleted the image and indicated that the ticket didn't cover that image. This user added that OTRS ticket to several copyvio uploads in an attempt to hide copyvios under a fake OTRS tag. This along with the sock issue and numerous other copyvio uploads tells me that this user is a danger to Commons. I've gone ahead and blocked him indef to prevent further copyvio problems. A funny edit...
Hello.
You'll have a lot of fun seeing these diffs: [7][8] A deletion nominator adds {{Vd}} to the community verdicts!
This looks like cheating (e.g. like voting twice) but I'm not much worried. I don't think the closing admin would care.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 09:05, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- not a good job of cheating, as it only tries to grab bad admins in the web, the nominator may be adding a deletion discussion for other reasons than just wanting it deleted, such as adding it for someone else when they are in fact neutral on the matter. Also, people like me would add a DR on something that should be deleted and then vote keep, simply because I can see the difference between my own opinion and my computation of the community opinion and do what is good for the majority whilst at the same time opposing them. If someone is purely vote counting contrary to the purpose of the DR, well good luck to em, it's not how it is meant to be done. One vk is not double voting imho. Penyulap ☏ 09:22, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
I would basically count that as a comment rather than a vote. INeverCry 17:56, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
Alexander Ipatov Photo
Hi. Would you please tell me why the Alexander Ipatov photo was deleted? It was published on Flickr under the 2.0 license, and that is the license I chose when I uploaded it to Wiki Commons. So I do not understand how there could be a copyright violation. Please explain. Commonplace Book (talk) 01:36, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- The problem is that the source, http://www.flickr.com/photos/suspeeters/8418347642/in/set-72157632619605240, uses a CC BY-NC-ND 2.0 license which doesn't allow commercial use or derivatives. This license is unacceptable on Commons. See COM:L. We only accept licenses that allow commercial use and derivatives. INeverCry 17:55, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

I've seen you've cleaned up the mess earlier. File:Pope Francis Coat of Arms.jpg is an obvious copyright violation, and File:Herb papieża Franciszka I.png is low quality and uses files which are not attributed. Perhaps you can delete them, so we have even less files to debate about. :) Oh, and another thing. File:Insigne Francisci.svg is practically identical to the official version, and File:Coat of arms of Franciscus.svg is pretty close. Fry thinks it's practically redundant, and I personally agree, but I'm not sure if that warrants a deletion. Perhaps you could clear this up? Lemmens, Tom (talk) 20:31, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- I've deleted the 2 simple cases above. I don't know much about COAs, so I'll wait until there's consensus on what else to keep or delete. INeverCry 21:07, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'm mostly asking about the policy. Commons:Project scope and Commons:Project scope/Neutral point of view in particular. It being a COA doesn't really matter. There are some redundant yet not identical files. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 23:04, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Request for file deletion on Dar Williams page
Hi INeverCry, Recently we requested that file http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dar-Williams-2004-07-18.jpg#filehistory be deleted from Dar Williams' Wikipedia page. We are a music management company who personally represent her, and it would be very much appreciated if you could reconsider your decision to keep the file, and delete it for us. If you could help us with any other way we could replace the file, that would be wonderful-- we have many other photos ready that we would happily switch for this particular one. We find that photo to be outdated, unflattering, unhelpful (in terms of visually recognizing the artist) and of low quality. Please let us know what can be done, and if we can replace it. Thank you for your time! -Justina — Preceding unsigned comment added by JustinaHeckard (talk • contribs) 10:46, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
- The decision actually came by consensus - I just carried out the keep. The image is used in several articles, and so is in COM:SCOPE. You can certainly upload newer, higher-quality images of her, and replace the above image in the articles on en.wiki, de.wiki, and fi.wiki. Once you've done so, you can re-nominate this one for deletion. INeverCry 17:58, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

This has been going on for quite a while now. Not sure how the propose to close template works, so I'll do it this way.
The original reason for the deletion request isn't valid anymore (we have official sources now). Copyright violations have been deleted. A merger of File:Insigne Francisci.svg + File:Coat of arms of Franciscus.svg is contested, and such a discussion could probably continue elsewhere. A merger of File:Blason fictif du Pape François.svg + File:COA Franciscus.svg + File:Fictional Coat of arms of Pope Francis.svg + File:Pope Francis CoA.svg was not contested. It's of course up to you or another admin to do this. File:Pope Francis CoA.svg would take precedence in the merger. It would be an image of the Pope's coat of arms before the revision, and I will make a rename request to clarify it after the merger. File:Fictional depiction of a coat of arms for Pope Francis.svg was voted for deletion by UV and Kathisma, agreed to keep by NikNaks, Fry and myself. My proposal to keep it was uncontested by Perhelion, SajoR and Maxxl2.
So, a short summary:
- Merge File:Blason fictif du Pape François.svg + File:COA Franciscus.svg + File:Fictional Coat of arms of Pope Francis.svg + File:Pope Francis CoA.svg
precedence to File:Pope Francis CoA.svg - Keep the rest
- Open a new DR on File:Coat of arms of Franciscus.svg
That seems to be the conclusion of the DR. :-) Lemmens, Tom (talk) 13:33, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hopefully a few of my less-busy colleagues can handle this one at some point. I already spend way too much time on here. INeverCry 18:27, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Sorting out a deletion
Could you please look in on Commons:Help_desk#Picture_deleted.3F? You were the deleting admin; the uploader is asserting that he/she is indeed the photographer & I see no reason to doubt that except for your assertion of copyvio. I'm not at all sure I understand the basis of that assertion, and the matter is made more complex by the fact that an earlier image uploaded to the same filename, File:Tue Byskov Bøtkjær.jpg, does indeed appear to have been a copvio. - Jmabel ! talk 15:49, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Eyesight test
Hi INeverCry, I have an eyesight test for you, can you tell me if File:Hot_air_balloon_sans_darth_vader.jpg looks like this image the same / a crop / different ?
It had been brought up in another DR which looks like a keep on FOP Mexico *possibly*. I figured if it is the same rationale to delete the current one as for the older one, then it's obviously the same reason to keep the old same as the new. If it is the same photo though, there is also maybe minimus to discuss and so on.
Oh, and it would be an opportunity for me to talk **** too, I don't want to miss that.
I asked Tom about the pic in the old DR and he pointed me to that image and answered my question about the location of the picture, which is same as the others it seems, so I figure to maybe ask for an UD at UDR if it all checks out. Unless you see any immediate pressing problem, like it is balloon porn, or that it should be balloon porn, but it's not :o Penyulap ☏ 03:16, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Here I overrighted with a high resolution provided by Peter Trimming on request per the discussion at w:Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/Mark_IV_female_tank. Original file and the license (CC BY 2.0) is available at http://www.geograph.org.uk/more.php?id=3376211 (login required) and http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3376211 (click more sizes). But I wonder whether another verification is required since the source has changed. If so; can you do it, please. JKadavoor Jee 06:33, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- I would suggest that you indicate that the first revision is from the Flickr source, and that the new revision is from the new source. I can't log in to geograph.org myself, so you'll have to do this. If you need someone to check or verify it, you'll need someone from the Geograph British Isles project who can log in and check that bigger size. INeverCry 16:33, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. Yes; when I requested the author for a more generous version on his Flickr page, he replied with the geograph link. That page required to be logged in; so I created a login, downloaded, and transferred to Commons. My only doubt is that whether any chance that the file get deleted if the source has missed in future (like Flickr links). JKadavoor Jee 16:45, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

As for "pics of all the worlds peoples", you should start looking thru Category:Media needing categories. With 400000 images, I'm sure you'd find some that would trump those dingy little unused profile pics. INeverCry 01:52, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

You have deleted the photo of my grandfather and I question why. I am the copyright owner of the photo (heir after my mother) and the photo was scanned by me from mother's personal photo album.
I would appreciate a reply and a procedure to undelete / re-publish the picture.
Thank you,
Mvanco (talk) 01:59, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- It was deleted per Commons:Deletion requests/File:MThM Na Sedmicke.jpg. Who was the photographer? Owning a photo doesn't necessarily make you the copyright owner. INeverCry 02:05, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
The photo was taken before my birth. I published is as the heir at the request of my mother, before she passed away in 2008
The photographer was probably my father Ph.Dr. Bohumil Vančo in 1941-42

- I'm signing off for the night, so I would suggest you post an undeletion request. Otherwise, I can look at this again tomorrow. INeverCry 03:50, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- This image still leaves me with questions. It obviously showed him painting and has been cropped. Why? Milan Thomka Mitrovský was a famous painter, and so I think there's a good chance this photograph was taken by a photographer rather than a family member. It doesn't look like a family snap-shot to me, especially because it shows him painting, which would've been a subject of public interest. Do you have any other photographs of him, preferably with a more personal feel? Something that would be recognizable as a family photo? Him sitting in a chair and not looking posed? I personally wouldn't feel comfortable restoring this image. As I say above, you can post an undeletion request and see what others think about it if you like.
In regard to the use of your image on a website that you mention, see Commons:Enforcing license terms.
The file File:Hana M Herodes a Herodias.jpg was tagged because it has no license. This photograph is another that looks to me like a posed photograph done by a professional photographer. If you have permission for its use, I would suggest you contact OTRS with the details, or that you have the editor send a permission email. Otherwise that may end up being deleted as well. Yes, the photograph was posed in his studio and the likelihood of my father being the photographer lies in the fact that among other things, my father was a photographer and a film maker. http://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohumil_Van%C4%8Do.
I have other photos/negatives that I have donated to the archives of the SNK (Slovak National Library), some (most) of them obviously posed. The photo I posted was most likely printed in the 1950's along with others used in mother's album and unfortunately I haven't been able to find most of the original negatives.
I will try to do a followup on the other photo. It was an "official" advertizing photo and judging from the year of the play, it was about the time mother met father.
Thanks for the reply.Mvanco (talk) 16:52, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Reasons for deletion of copyvios
Hi INeverCry! Would it be possible to rewrite whatever you use to delete copyvios to include the reason for deletion? Including the reason could prevent unnecessary URs and questions such as User talk:Moogsi#Robert Ross monument. I assume you go through and mark them and then mass delete them with something. Thanks, –moogsi (blah) 12:46, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'm actually using DelteLinks now. I go thru and delete the obvious stuff, and anything questionable I open in a new window and inspect. Unfortunately it only allows a single copy & paste rationale for mass deletions. I wish DelteLinks could mass delete using the rationale each file is tagged with. I have no technical expertise though, so I'm at the mercy of other people's tools. Anyways, if you get a question about a deletion I did, feel free to direct the questioner my way. Tsarnaev Brothers deletion
Hello there - I noticed you just deleted the Tsarnaev brothers image as I was in the process of removing the speedy delete tag. I explained why on the talk page. It seems we were functionally edit conflicting each other. The work was in the public domain as described. The original image was cropped, sharpened, and otherwise edited and then published as a derivative work by the FBI and as such is in the public domain. I don't have the image but it should be restored. CoolMike (talk) 17:36, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
- If the original image isn't free, then I don't see why an alteration by the FBI would make it free. I'm not going to restore it. I would suggest you post an undeletion request to see what others think of restoring it. INeverCry 17:52, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Request
As an admin, you should be able to 'see' deleted pages, right? Could you check if there is a source mentioned for these deleted coat of arms: Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_uploaded_by_Katepanomegas#files_created_by_vectorisation_of_a_still_copyrighted_artwork_2. (except the 10 provinces version and Lesser coat of arms of the kingdom of Belgium, which aren't personal coats of arms). I'd assume they refer to a certain law or royal arrest that details all the external ornaments and charges, but I have trouble finding such a law myself. Could you help me? It shouldn't take much time. Thanks in advance. :-) Lemmens, Tom (talk) 16:11, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Deletion question
Dont understand I give some picture from a friend, and ecemaml who is he ??? to delete mine ??? User talk:Gind2005.
- You'll have to address the issue he raised. These are works of art. Who is the artist that created the paintings themselves, and when did he/she die? Is this a notable artist? COM:OTRS permission from the creator/copyright holder of these works will most likely be needed, assuming the artist is notable. INeverCry 18:35, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
License issue

- Hi Dennis. It looks like Sreejithk2000 already fixed the problem. I don't use the upload bot myself. I don't upload much from Flickr, but when I do, I upload the image by hand and copy & paste the file info using Flinfo. INeverCry 03:28, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
- I was guessing it was something simple like that. I don't move much from Flickr, although I do upload a lot of my own photography. Every now and then, I find an article that needs a photo that I can't just go shoot myself, however. I'm slowly learning the system over here, it is a bit different. I can't ever get the "new" upload script to work, I have to always use the old form. It never gives me an "upload" or "submit" button. Thanks for looking at it. Hi, I noticed you deleted File:Amanda-todd.jpg. Thanks for doing that! I wonder how you'd feel about possibly blocking the editor who uploaded the image, as I'm certain some kind of block-worthy rule was broken, and they're evidently not here to do anything constructive if they're falsely claiming copyright ownership of files. Thanks! Evanh2008 (talk) 14:30, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- I can't block the acct on the basis of 1 edit. If the acct name actually matched the girl's name in the image, I would've blocked the acct outright. This is probably a driveby acct, and that's all we'll see out of them. If they come back though, they'll probably end up blocked. INeverCry 17:56, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello INeverCry, sorry but I'm here again to ask your opinion. File:Robert Varkonyi.jpg has been deleted due to "No license since 17 April 2013". Katepanomegas' "troll" seems to be at it again
user:198.245.50.171 + user:86.195.198.48 + user:90.61.231.219 The same pattern (different ips) as the supposed troll who 'attacked' Katepanomegas. That troll seemed to be Katepanomegas himself trying to get his file deleted in the end. This troll mostly targets files that have elements derived from Katepanomegas' files, and considering that the last things Katepanomegas did before his account got 'compromised' was getting angry at me for not following in his 'delete-everything' behaviour, I fear that it is indeed Katepanomegas again. In any case, the troll removes attributions and replaced them with incomplete attribution templates, in what may be an attempt to later cause the files to get deleted for copyright infringement. A later false tagging of a copyright violation seems to point in that direction. Attempts to communicate through the talk page twice resulted in the generation of a new IP. Is there anything that can be done against this? Lemmens, Tom (talk) 17:18, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I hope this vandal, whoever it is, will let it rest now. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 17:35, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- Jim had indicated per CU that the vandals were unrelated to the Katepanomegas account back when I blocked it as compromised. Anyways, I doubt that this will be the last we see of this troll or trolls, so let me know of any further problems. With these dynamic IPs, there's not a lot that can be done by way of prevention. - Hello, Mehdi. The regret that you are talking about hardly concerns this issue. He says he is sorry to have not assumed good faith in you, which not the cause of being blocked. However, the block log reports Nejabad is blocked for uploading non-free images after warnings. I do not mean to speak for INeverCry but admins usually unblock such users when they exhibit their ability to tell what is free and what is not and promise not to upload non-free images again.

- Too many admins ask for far far too much, things that have nothing to do with future disruption and everything to do with the admin's emotional retardation (where applicable, present company excluded).
- Unblocks are cheap.
- Let me say that again, unblocks are cheap.
- If Mehdi is going to keep an eye on the user then that's fantastic, one less job for the admin to do. If Mehdi gets a reputation for asking for users to be unblocked when they shouldn't then admins wouldn't answer such requests on the cry wolf principle. I think Mehdi should be assisted wherever possible to help the project. A look over Mehdi's contributions indicates they are a contributor in good standing with the appropriate language skills and interest in the case, based upon that alone, I support Mehdi's request for an unblock. If the world explodes of course, the editor can be re-blocked and BONUS, the opponents get boasting rights. Penyulap ☏ 09:48, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Copyright-infracting designs, again
Through a request that was made to me today, I stumbled upon a few files that are based on the same drawing as Katepanomegas' infracting lions, the drawing linked to in this deletion request.
The second file was already deleted once, but restored by Multichill, but no reason was given. Can any clarity be given in these? Either the PNG file and the Katepanomegas files should be restored, or the arms by Arch (who has left Wikipedia) should be deleted. I guess, as a third option, Piet Bultsma could be contacted in the hopes of getting permission to reuse his original design. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 11:04, 4 May 2013 (UTC) And another file here: File:Coat of Arms of the Netherlands.svg. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 11:08, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi, if I may give my two cents, as I have had deleted much of this uploader's derivative files. The design of arch and katepanomegas lions is not similar. They obviously have different sources:
(to be deleted after decision, sorry for the admins)
katepanomags on the left, as can been seen from a website that used it when it was online (http://www.lionalert.org/images/upload/Gallery%20images%20-%20lions/Netherlands%20Coat%20of%20Arms.jpg) and the one used by arch http://creativeroots.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Coat_of_Arms_of_the_Netherlands.png . posture, color, shape, too many differences to be considered similar.
I have already pushed arch's design several times on the french wiki as being superior in every way. I think it should be kept. An otrs request would indeed be the best option. Kathisma (talk) 13:20, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- There are some differences, and I attributed them as Katepanomegas' personal touch, but you are right. Have a look at these files and all its derivatives: File:Nl-arms.gif & File:Nederlands Rijkswapen van 1907.jpg. Stylistically quite similar to Bultsma, but not identical. I can trace it to the 1970s (http://www.geheugenvannederland.nl/?/en/items/NAGO02xxCOLONxxMVC-29679 (link)]. It is also the version used on the royal website.
- In any case, the Arch version can be traced to Bultsma, and unless permission is obatained, it can't be used here. I can't find the author of the seemingly official version, on which Katepanomegas based his lions. It's safe to assume that the author hasn't been dead for 70 years either. It's a real mess. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 14:15, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- heraldry of the world ( http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=File:Netherlands.gif ) seems to have got an otrs, m. Bultsma may accept another for commons. And if this cannot be obtained, I'm afraid the best option will be to use the raster 1907 design (File:Nederlands Rijkswapen van 1907.jpg) or to draw a totally new version from scratch as you did for the flag of sint-truiden (maybe sodacan would accept). Kathisma (talk) 14:24, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- The 1907 is the design that I was talking about, and linked to. It is the seemingly official version, and not properly attributed. Neither option is acceptable. The best options would be one of the inspired vector files, the ones that aren't direct traces. File:Great Coat of Arms of the Netherlands.svg (Inspired by the Bultsma version), File:Grandes armes Pays-Bas.svg (Inspired by the 'official' version), File:Greater Coat of arms of the Netherlands.svg (Inspired by the 'official' version). Or of course something drawn from scratch. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 14:52, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

I put the photo and your defeated vandalism. I hope you read the comments next time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Declic (talk • contribs) 14:23, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
What image are you referring to?INeverCry 23:31, 5 May 2013 (UTC)- Never mind, I've commented on your talkpage. INeverCry 23:39, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
I have been this artwork since 30 years, the heirs are found. Photo and work are my property. The heirs do not even know that I have this work. Please, please do not vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Declic (talk • contribs) 16:56, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- It's not vandalism. It doesn't matter how long you've owned the painting. You're not the author or the copyright holder. The copyright belongs to the artist's heirs whether they know you have the painting or not. INeverCry 00:14, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Three files involving the painter Bruno Montpied
Hello,
It seems you deleted three files involving a painter, Bruno Montpied. There is a mystery here because an authorization was sent by Bruno Montpied on the 23th of April to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org for these files; as there was not any change concerning the status of the files, another authorization was sent on 28th of April. THere was not any answer or change of status of the files.
The files were the following : ’'Reine des Feuilles Mortes Bruno Montpied.jpg’’ ’'Bruno Montpied Photomontage José Guirao.jpg’’ ‘’Bruno Montpied, Sans Titre, 1977.jpg’’
Of course, Bruno Montpied is able to send the files again but it is the first time this problem occurs. Can you help me for the future ? Was the address not convenient ?
I hope I do not bother you. Thanks for your help. Best regards, --Joiesoudaine (talk) 11:11, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sometimes OTRS can take a while, as they're often backed up. As soon as your email is processed, the files will be restored, so there's no need to re-upload them. If you'd like to ask about the progress of your email, you can do so at COM:OTRS/N. INeverCry 16:00, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

All of my Image files were deleted by you on my wikipedia article, but all of the paintings in the photos are my own work and were photographed by myself.
Hello, the following Files were all deleted by you yesterday off of my wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Michaelcavayero/Michael_Cavayero and I do not understand why. The deleted files are as follows:

Each photo is my own work, they are paintings I made in 2008 as well as prints made in 2010 and current paintings. Every single work is mine own and was photographed by me. Each image file was also labeled as OWN and has my name attached to it. That being the case I do not understand why they were deleted and I would like them put back immediately. This is very fustrating as all the work is was already labeled using Wikipedia's OWN marking system. - These were deleted via Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Michaelcavayero. You'll have to contact COM:OTRS and confirm that you're the copyright holder, and that give permission for these images to be free and hosted on Commons. Your declined AFC on Wikipedia is a concern though. If there's not a live article on an artist on any wiki, then images of their works may be deleted for lack of notability. organizing my images
Hi,
I uploaded This photo, which afterward Rabanus Flavus rotated and cropped (here's the edited image). So now there are two very similar files on commons. Would it be possible to switch my file with his (So the edited file will be under the name of "Knesset Menorah Shema Inscription") and delete the redundant photo?
Thanks, --SuperJew (talk) 18:38, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- I don't do much with duplicates. I would suggest asking User:Didym who has much more experience in that area. INeverCry 21:34, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Clashbgd.jpg
I had received permission for File:Clashbgd.jpg from the photo owner who selected a license for this file's publication and have sent the OTRS an e-mail of the permission given by the photo owner. What is the procedure for this file to be restored? Zastavafan76 (talk) 00:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- All you have to do now is wait for the OTRS email to be processed. Once that's done, the file will be restored. You can ask about progress at COM:OTRS/N. INeverCry 01:10, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi. How do you do?
I thought it'd be more convenient for you if I reported this directly: All icons included in Category:MS-Project icons are copyright violations because they are copyright-protected icons of Microsoft Project (a computer program). You can delete the category too.

Wrong deletion of a photograph
Hi there,
I've noticed that one of my pictures has been deleted by you, although those pictures are my own work so i gave the permision to publice them.
I would like more information about this happening.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicolas Willemyns (talk • contribs) 11:41, May 10, 2013 (UTC)
- It was deleted as a COM:DW screenshot. To be honest, now that I see exactly what it is, I'm not sure if a virus screenshot would be covered by any copyright. I restored it and sent it to DR to be discussed. INeverCry 19:46, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Mistaken keep
You declined to delete File:Colin Capture.PNG on the grounds that it was "a recent upload and is in use on the user's sandbox". However, the page in which it was used was an attack page (which I have since deleted off enwiki). There is no other reason for the image to exist; as well, I strongly doubt its provenance. ¿Porque has eliminado mis imágenes?
¿Tienen algo mal? --187.4.26.240 03:24, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- These were deleted because you took them from the internet: Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Sebastian Leivas Muslera. You can only upload images that you photographed, or that are otherwise free. See Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter. INeverCry 03:32, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

deletions
hi;
respectfully, this action [12] was a mistake, in at least 2 ways:
1. there is in fact an article about en:Vanessa Harding & you deleted the only file we had of her at the time. the same user has since uploaded 1 other image [File:TexasChamp.jpg] but it's not a very good one.
2. whether the article on wikipedia en was deleted or not IS C0OMPLETELY SEPARATE from whether an image @ commons is "within-scope" @ commons.
obviously an "in-use" file falls wirhin scope, BUT a file that is not "in-use", or that is no longer "in-use" DOES NOT automatically become "out of scope" @ commons.
we have categories for professional wrestling (in the united states), we have categories for american woman, for athletes, for chonology, locations, etc. the file you deleted could probably have qualified in multiple categories. if you check the categorization on the more-recently uploaded image cited above, you will find eĉamples of suitable categorization within commons' scope.
in this case, the file should have been kept BOTH because there is a wp article about one of the persons & because the subject fits well within commons' scope (in a plurality of cats). please use more consideration before deleting files based on this rationale.
Lx 121 (talk) 10:19, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
actually, this one was probably a mistake as well, same reason (re:scope):

- I've restored File:Nighthawk with Vanessa Harding.jpg. As for the other, if there's no longer a wiki article on this Nighthawk person, than scope for the image is questionable. You'll have to file an undeletion request for that one. INeverCry 17:51, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Undeletion requests
Hi INeverCry, I saw that you processed the DR for the following four files
- Commons:Deletion_requests/File:陸軍軍官學校大門.jpg
- Commons:Deletion_requests/File:專指部大門.jpg
- Commons:Deletion_requests/File:工程館.jpg
- Commons:Deletion_requests/File:黃埔湖.jpg
These are indeed scan, but they are taken by the uploader (30 years ago, so no digital version apparently) as well. I verified their permission on-wiki (sorry, it's in Chinese) in late 2012 and restored them once. If it's all right, I'd like to have them restored. Haven't been very active on commons anymore, so not sure what the drill is. --Bencmq (talk) 10:50, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- I would suggest asking User:Shizhao. He speaks Chinese, and can check the link you provided to zh.wiki. He's also an admin here, and can restore the images if everything checks out. INeverCry 17:32, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Rehabilitation of two files and the questions
Hello!
I don't deny that I was doing scans, but some of them were my personal work given at Photoshop and using some chemical editors Symyx, Chem-4D. Can the quality and look like they scan, for example File:Обезвреживание бензантрацена в организме.gif and File:Синтез кофеина из мочевой кислоты.gif, but I assure you, they're personally made by me in the program Symyx. If you look closely you can see that the formulas are not located in a water line scans. I would be very grateful if you rehabilitate these 2 files.
I have another question for you. Can I take the initiative to create a chemical formulas and graphs in the above programs and download them to Wikipedia? And what quality should be the graphs and formulas?
With respect --Djem92 (talk) 17:23, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- I would suggest filing an undeletion request. As for the question, you'd probably get a more informed answer at COM:VP. INeverCry 17:35, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
For your information, this image was restored because Armenia now has full Freedom of Panorama due to a recent change in this country's laws. It is the only former Soviet state now to have FOP. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:26, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
Unused banners I made
You may recall I made File:Inevercry.png and File:INeverCry cropped.png a long time ago, I figure to ask you to delete them if you won't use them, I can make better ones if you like :D but I think you like the less political cat. Some people do love my banners though, and they ARE good editors, brilliant in fact, and did I mention they have impeccable taste ? well, it helps when I have a theme to work with, I think the one I had back then was library furniture... (hmm, maybe too boring was the problem)
If you like a banner or any art, please make suggestion. Penyulap ☏ 09:54, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
