Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
[edit]Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at Wikimedia Commons.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. jdx Re: 16:25, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
File tagging File:TriPeaks.png
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:TriPeaks.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:TriPeaks.png]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

European Union commemorative 2 euro coins by number.svg
[edit]Sorry for the delay, GiAn - I only left you this message on my own user talk yesterday: The new map looks very nice with the black lines!! But: The grey circle for Gibraltar stands out, connecting Europe and Afrika (in reality, Gibraltar is situated to the north-east, north of Ceuta). Very important in my opinion: circles should only make Euro coins emitting micro states more visible, to live up to the purpose of this map. Therefore it was wrong, that Liechtenstein was depicted with a circle on my png map! Liechtenstein as well Faroer, Gibraltar, Dekelia and Akrotiri should be depicted following their shape, surrounded by black lines (Akrotiri is just a small airbase and will then be a tiny black dot, nearly invisible - so be it). I kindly ask you to alter these items! And a last remark: I miss Karpathos, the island between Crete and Rhodes... Then the svg map should replace my png map at Wikipedia websites! I still have to figure out how to edit a new version of a svg map, because on 4 July Portugal will get the same colour as France... Thank you very much for your efforts, GiAn! Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 11:06, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll try to remove the circles, but I warn you that in this way some of them will be nearly invisible. I will also add Karpatos and change the color of Portugal. --GiAnMMV 09:17, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- You are very kind, GiAn! Melilla is also very tiny, but still visible at high resolution... I'm really happy with all the work you're doing and appreciate the result! Which svg tool do you recommend for me to be able to change colours next time? I might ask my son for some help, but your advice for a simple program to start with would be very helpful. Bye, --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 15:04, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hello GiAn, what happened to Malta and Vatican City? And why have Andorra and Monaco not got any colour and San Marino the wrong one? As I mentioned before, the circles in the png map were meant to attract the attention to the four Euro coins emitting micro states, plus tiny Malta. These five entities have to remain their circles to be recognizable! By the way, Ceuta and Melilla are depicted with an exaggerated size (and Melilla not even at the correct position). Gibraltar and Dekelia should therefore be treated similarely, to indicate visibly that they are not part of the eurozone. Off topic: I know nearly all of the wonderful Greek islands inluding Karpathos.. Have a nice weekend!--Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 09:12, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
