Categorisation; a favour to ask

Hi. When you are creating categories, like Category:Miklós Papp it would be fantastic if you would be able to add the categories rather than leaving them orphaned. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 02:22, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Fine. Not so easy... Elekes Andor (talk) 07:19, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
How is it not so easy? If you have the gadget HotCat turned on from your preferences, you will find it pretty easy, though it takes a little practice. You are well knowing the subject matter and can more quickly add this, whereas someone who doesn't deal with the subject matter has to do the actual research from no knowledge, which leads to less accurate categorisation. Similarly adding {{Wikidata infobox}} and adding the category to their respective Wikidata items is also easy, though does take a little time. Favourable outcomes when it is done properly.  — billinghurst sDrewth 22:35, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
I'll try it, thanks. Elekes Andor (talk) 07:52, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

abbreviations are not helpful when dealing in the international sense

Hi. Use of an abbreviation like "MCC" in Category:Csaba Moldicz doesn't work well in an international sense as there are many things that align with such an abbreviation, and only so much time that others have to hunt around to understand the use. If you are able to fully expand abbreviations, that would be great. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:33, 9 January 2024 (UTC) Agree, done. --Elekes Andor (talk) 08:27, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

I do not understand what the graffiti photos in this category have to do with Jimmy Zámbó. Can you explain? - Jmabel ! talk 23:16, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

The suburb where theese graffities were painted on the outer walls of Bakancsos Market (second hand market) are the home of people who appreciated ZÁMBÓ Jimmy, a singer. I could identify ZÁMBÓ Jimmy on this graffiti: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A_Kir%C3%A1ly.jpg (A Király - The King - Zámbó Jimmy). So I think the whole set of graffitis are about this topic. I can be wrong, but had to know more about the graffities. --Elekes Andor (talk) 07:29, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

So what does File:Graffiti a Bakancsoson (3).jpg have to do with him? - Jmabel ! talk 22:25, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Jmabel, Nothing. The picture shows the comic book hero called the Phantom. Unfortunately, Andor Elekes is very sloppy. He does not pay attention when taking photos, uploading or categorizing. Hungarikusz Firkász (talk) 12:03, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
@Hungarikusz Firkász and Elekes Andor: is there any chance you can sort out categorization for these images and, presuming some do relate to Jimmy Zámbó, the category itself? I have almost no Hungarian (maybe a couple of hundred word vocabulary) and have spent exactly eight days in Hungary in my entire life, so I'm at an enormous liability trying to fix these things. - Jmabel ! talk 19:55, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
OK. I fix it. Elekes Andor (talk) 19:57, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
Well, you half fixed it. We still need appropriate parent categories for Category:Zámbó Jimmy. - Jmabel ! talk 21:01, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
Jmabel, The Zámbó Jimmy category is incorrect. The correct category is Category:Imre Zámbó (Jimmy). Hungarikusz Firkász (talk) 21:26, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
Zámbó Jimmy was his stage name, so the category is correct. Elekes Andor (talk) 21:37, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
So there is a longstanding category, and the other name should just become a redirect (which I'll do). @Elekes Andor, we don't normally create categories under two different names for the same person. If you want to argue for moving the category, you can start a CFD. - Jmabel ! talk 21:53, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
Elekes Andor (talk) 08:25, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
