Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "No reason was given for an infinite block. I only uploaded a small number of images previously, and less than 24 hours elapsed between being asked to provide evidence of permission, and being given an infinite block with no reasoning. I fail to see how uploading images, and only inserting them into relevant Wikipedia pages, is vandalism, and I was not given the reasoning behind this leap to conclusions. I am a very active Wikipedia editor on boxing pages, having made over 1000 edits as an autoconfirmed WP editor, and henceforth I wish to use Wikimedia only to add images of boxers to their respective WP pages. Being blocked has a net detrimental result to WP's boxing community, of which I am one of its most active and constructive members. Thus, being designated as a vandalism-only account and given an infinite ban without reasoning is very confusing to me (and negatively impacts the quality of WP's boxing pages as a whole), especially considering I have never been to vitriolic/toxic to any user either on WM or WP, nor have I ever vandalized any article/image/user page."
Decline reason: "Maybe reason "vandalism-only account" is incorrect, but block itself seems good. Users can be unblocked, if they understand, why they were blocked, and if they give credible promise not to continue. I see here neither, so I decline the request. Unblock request granted

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, and one or more administrators has reviewed and granted this request.

Request reason: "How am I to understand why I was blocked, if you yourself admit that the single reason given - "vandalism-only account" - was incorrect, and I was given no other reason as to why I was blocked? As I understand it, some users perceived that the images I uploaded were distasteful, and believed I did not have the rights to those images (or I was violating image use policy). That was not the case at all, every photo I had uploaded was personally captured with consent. If my goal had been to vandalize, I would not have merely uploaded a small number of personal photographs and only placed them on relevant pages.

I already stated that moving forward I intend to only use WM as a means to contribute to boxing WP by uploading pictures of boxers and things pertaining to boxing. In this instance, images of boxers can not be misconstrued as distasteful, and the images I upload will be those which there will be no confusion as to whether rights/consent was obtained or not, as per Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Privacy_rights, an example given for a photo that normally does not require consent includes "A basketball player competing in a match open to the public", which is applicable to other sports including boxing. I can not be any more transparent, responsible or apologetic than I already have been. I believed it was apparent already that I had no goal to vandalize or infringe others' rights/privacy; if that is still not clear, then let me state once again clearly and plainly once and for all: I have never had any intention to vandalize, infringe others' rights or infringe the privacy of others, nor be toxic/vitriolic/unreasonable/troll, and I will not do any of these things moving forward. I apologize for the clear miscommunication which has occurred here.

My only goal moving forward is to use WM to continue to enhance the quality of WP's boxing pages as I have done for an extended period of time; to be deprived of that over a misunderstanding in which I was infinitely-blocked over uploading under 5 personal images is a big shame for Wikimedia and Wikipedia.
"
Unblock reason: "After consulting the blocking admin, and considering the edits that DontBeSuchANerdDude has made to the English Wikipedia since this block, I've decided to grant the request. The actions of uploading graphic or suggestive images and inserting them across multiple wikis can be consistent with a vandalism-only account, so the original block appears reasonable. However, I think that DontBeSuchANerdDude has sufficiently accounted for their behavior. As far as the copyright status of the images goes, I didn't look into it further. This unblock request has been open longer than most initial copyright blocks anyway. In either case, I would advise you to read through Commons:Licensing and COM:SCOPE as you return to editing. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 17:51, 14 January 2022 (UTC)"[reply]

@Shizao: Could you comment on the vandalism and this unblock request?
From what I can see you were uploading porn / fetish type images that were almost certainly copyvios. How were these your photos? Gbawden (talk) 11:32, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:GGG Murata fight poster.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.
