File:Ambulance Australia opening title.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. File tagging File:NSW Ambulance logo.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:NSW Ambulance logo.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:NSW Ambulance logo.jpg ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

I noticed you've uploaded multiple images that differ only in size, and I thought I should draw your attention to a certain feature of our software. MediaWiki, the software which drives Commons and other projects like Wikipedia, is able to handle reducing the size of the images automatically. For example, even though File:Red Apple.jpg is a very large picture (2418 × 2192 pixel), MediaWiki can automatically generate thumbnails in all sizes (example: 50-pixel thumbnail).
You can include a resized thumbnail of any image in a Wikipedia article using
For a narrower image – those in upright or portrait aspect ratio – use

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.Elisfkc (talk) 16:24, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

May I suggest using CropTool?
[edit]Hi, I noticed that many of your uploads are crops of other Commons images. You can save yourself a lot of work and make the experience better for other users by using COM:CropTool. It lets you crop in the browser and it automatically fills in the source and license information (I notice that you use URL links to Commons photos, but wikilinking using brackets is preferred). Cropping images
[edit]By way of information for the future, when you want to crop an image, as you did with File:Opera House, May 2021 (cropped).jpg, I suggest you use the CropTool that can be activated in your commons Preferences, under Gadgets. The CropTool will then appears in the left side of your screen. It saves everyone a lot of time because it transfers all the correct and appropriate information into the cropped image, such as source, license, author, etc. It even leaves a backlink to the original and visa versa so long as the original has been positively reviewed. That way all the proper information is there and does not need to be manually reviewed by volunteers. If you are just cropping a small bit of the image like a frame you can decide to overwrite the original image but for more major crops you should upload the cropped version as a separate new image, but you have a choice. I hope you can see how everyone can save time and frustration by using CropTool. Good luck. Ww2censor (talk) 09:23, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Democfest, hope you are well. I have uploaded a bunch of new images that I think you would find useful when you do your editing. - Great to see you back Nim. I feel like we've missed a lot of images of non-Europe/American market cars during your long hiatus. Lets be honest here - most asia based car photographers aren't very good. - Democfest (talk) 01:29, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Anyway, Democfest, can you please change the image of the TX4 ENWP top infobox article (I can't due to my block/ban). The image you chose File:.00 1398 London-Taxi LTI TX1.jpg is actually a TX1, not a TX4. This is because the front end is significantly different. I renamed and recategorised the file to reflect the changes. Why not use File:LTI TX4 (ex-taxi) civilian version front.jpg as its a non-taxi version and i think it works --Nim Bhharathhan (talk) 01:44, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Good spot, i'll find another image. Not sure about yours though - it's a great angle and capture but the car itself is slightly tatty with mismatched wheels. I'd love if you could get some shots of some aussie market vans though. The latest gen Mitsubishi Express is pretty rare and my own shot (the only one available here) is awful https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mitsubishi_Express_(2020).jpg. The latest gen Hiace could also do with some photos as well - Democfest (talk) 01:57, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- No worries. Do you have facebook? I would like to communicate with you over there. I can reupload my old shot if I still have it. I have both pictures of them and will upload them. Probably won't even be arsed if any lecturer knows about my secrets on the Commons.
