CopyRight
[edit]Hi, Please help me. You add the copyright in File:Vani Bhojan3.jpg. please don't delete it. Please and take Copyvios please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tamil Ma (talk • contribs) 14:40, 25 April 2020 (UTC) (UTC)
- Hi. I did not "add the copyright". I added a note indicating that the file was violating copyright. I can not delete files, only administrators can do that, and an administrator did delete the file because it was a copyright violation. An image that violates copyright must not be uploaded to Commons. There is more information on your user talk page, and also on your English Wikipedia user talk page. --Bonadea (talk) 16:06, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
What I what to do in File:Vani Bhojan06.jpg please say Tamil Ma (talk) 09:06, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- You cannot do anything except stop uploading it. Taking other people's photos in this way is not legal. Photos found on the Internet can't be uploaded to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons unless the website where you found them has stated that they published it under a licence that allows that kind of re-publishing. If you do not own the copyright of a photo there is nothing you can do except contact the photographer and ask them to release the copyright (and they will have to say that on their website, a promise in an email won't be enough.) There is a lot of information on your user talk page. Please read it. --Bonadea (talk) 09:10, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Ok, please upload the pictures in Vani Bhojan wilimedia commons Tamil Ma (talk) 10:43, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- It would not be legal for me to do that, either. I am not the photographer. --Bonadea (talk) 10:57, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. 4nn1l2 (talk) 16:37, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
Copyvio source URL
[edit]When tagging images as copyvio, as you did with File:Sivaangi.jpg and File:IMG-20210822-WA0008.jpg, please be advised that the {{Copyvio}} does not take a url parameter. Rather, it takes a source parameter. If you try to use a url parameter, the source URL will not show up on the file description page. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 16:37, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open!
[edit]Read this message in your language
Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
