state names are black and cannot be read well
[edit]https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Brazilian_presidential_election_second_round_map.png
Hi, in the map above, state names are black on darkblue background so they cannot be read well. Can you fix it please? thanks.--31.202.25.100 14:25, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- I will make them white asap. --Aréat (talk) 16:25, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Alternative Flag of Mauritania.svg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

Parliament diagrams
[edit]After creating the diagrams could you refine the default category Category:Election apportionment diagrams to one of the country specific categories from Category:Election apportionment diagrams by country. Thank you, Cabayi (talk) 15:36, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm not so good at this. How would I do that, exactly? --Aréat (talk) 15:38, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- I've seen your name popping up so often lately that I never thought you wouldn't know. Sorry.
- For each diagram the text
[[:Category:Election apportionment diagrams]]
- needs to change to
[[:Category:Election apportionment diagrams of France]]
- or whichever country is relevant.
- The bottom of the file's page will have the text
- Category (++): Election apportionment diagrams (−) (±) (↓) (↑)(+)
- click (±), start to add " of Fr" and you'll get all the relevant categories suggested to you. Help:Gadget-HotCat explains the tool better than I can.
- Thanks, Cabayi (talk) 16:07, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

Sièges au parlement
[edit]Salut

--Myloufa (talk) 00:54, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:La planète des singes - couverture.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. ~riley (talk) 05:11, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Bonjour. Merci !-2A01:CB01:1008:9AC7:85FA:D25B:EB60:FEF4 13:22, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello.
Can you remove in File:2021 Kosovo elections.svg, the Serb List? On 5 November 2022, all the Serbian members (who are all nembers of the Serb List political party) resigned and withdrew from the Kosovo Assembly. The 10 seats are now vacant and need to be colored accordingly.
Yours sincerely, 31.200.20.43 11:39, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- No, and the file shouldn't be modified that way, as it it used on the 2021 election page to show the result of the election. The latter change to the assembly in 2022 doesn't retroactively change how the assembly was on 2021. A separate new file should be made for the current composition and used on the assembly own page, no longer using this election result file. Cordially. --Aréat (talk) 12:24, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Can you create an updated map reflecting the recent change? For instance another user created File:Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo (2022 updated).svg. 31.200.19.239 21:55, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- I think it would be simpler if you just asked this user to update the file he created.--Aréat (talk) 21:57, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I wrote to the user. However this user has uploaded in Wikimedia Commons only three times and does not seem to be active. If the user does not become active and respond, could you update that file? The current makeup of the Kosovo Assembly, after the departure of the Serb MPs, looks more or less static. 31.200.19.239 06:26, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
- Why not learn how to do it? It's very simple, really. On the page you have the link to the tool used. On it, disregrad the "select country" list and just click on "Add a party". Each one will be added on the diagram, with the first ones being on the left side. On the file in use, click to modify the description to have access to the color, like VV being #CC0033. On the tool, add the parties with the number of seat, correct color (please always use the existing ones on the wiki) and the party name, until you have all of them. Then click on "Make my diagram". If you're making a new file, fill in the country and year then "Generate upload link". If you wan't to modify an existing one, though, please don't make a new one. Click on "download your SVG diagram" and upload that file on the already existing wikimedia page. That's it.--Aréat (talk) 20:37, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi
[edit]You said there was a loss of quality to File:2023 New Zealand House of Representatives.svg. But that's not true. The pixel count is lower, but that is because the unnecessary border has been removed. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 03:46, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello. The bottom end of the circles on the left side are cut, as well as the top one.--Aréat (talk) 03:53, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. There are not though. Move your mouse around and you'll see it's perfect, no cuts. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 04:21, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- You said there is visibly cut dots on bottom left and upper side. If that is the case then the right bottom side would be like that too, as I exported only the file. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 04:23, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know what to say except that I can see it. Can you see it on high resolution? Right side is also cut but it's less visible because of the color. Also, do note that there is thousands of such diagram files. None before have needed to be cut. Please let's just keep it this way.--Aréat (talk) 04:33, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- That link is in png format so I don't see how we can compare that. The svg is the exact template as File:NZ House 2020.svg used in the 2020 election article. This gives rid of the borders that take up unnecessary space. Please leave my version. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 04:59, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- It's the same file seen in bigger format. Please go on the page and select "2 560 × 1 280 pixels". You do see it's cut, right? Please don't replace these diagrams with cut ones.--Aréat (talk) 05:09, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- It's not cut and it's good on the article. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 05:40, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Weird that we don't see the same thing. Well, better ask third opinions, then. Not that it is extremely important but I would prefer the diagram to look as good as usual. Let's ask other contributors on the election talk page.--Aréat (talk) 05:47, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 06:13, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Nixinova: , since you were the last to modify the 2020 diagram. What's your opinion?--Aréat (talk) 20:26, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- 2020 2023 I see the 2023 is slightly cut at the bottom by a handful of pixels. The 2020 one is maybe too padded however. Nixinova (talk) 01:57, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the third opinion. So, there's indeed a slight cut. @Kiwiz1338: , could you please make a different version, cutting the empty space around as you said, but leaving the dots whole?--Aréat (talk) 03:56, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- I have left a very small border around the image to stop the clipping. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 04:47, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! Can you do so for the 2020 file as well?--Aréat (talk) 04:49, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Allgood. Yes. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 01:42, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
