Re: продолжение
[edit]Привет! По-видимому ты был прав тут. В связи с этим как ты считаешь, в собственно википедию это фото можно загрузить? И если да, то как это надо будет обосновать? Alaexis 10:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Commons:Geocoding :-)

Auzo 09:08, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- ОК, понятно. Большое спасибо! Auzo 10:41, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Map of Abkhazia 1903.jpg, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.

Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 10:04, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
Wikimedia Commons does not accept derivative works of non-free works such as File:Luxembourg statues.JPG. It only accepts free content, which is images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Reproductions of copyrighted works are also subject to the same copyright, and therefore this file must unfortunately be considered non-free. For more information, please read Commons:Derivative works and Commons:Freedom of panorama. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that this file was not a derivative work of a non-free work, you may request undeletion.

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2018 is open!
[edit]Dear Alaexis,
You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in R1 of the 2018 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2018) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.
In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.
Round 2 will end 17 March 2019, 23:59:59.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 18:03, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Picture of the foundation stone Louvre AO 24414
[edit]Hi! I noticed your messages on Commons:Village pump/Copyright about the foundation stone AO 24414 in the Louvre. I live in Paris and I have free access to the Louvre. I will photograph the stone next time I go there. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 16:52, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, I really appreciate it! For now I've used an image of the cone with Urukagina's debt cancellation decree but I'd rather use the image of the first such proclamation. Alaexis (talk) 18:56, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- Here is your picture. Apologies for the quality; I didn't notice the reflection until afterwards. I'll try to take a better one later. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 07:11, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

Unrecognised entities
[edit]I don't think that Abkhazia is in the same category as Kosovo; the latter has wide recognition. Laurel Lodged (talk) 17:30, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
- Well, we also have Category:Churches in Taiwan, and it's recognised only by 11 countries. Where do you put the threshold and on what basis?
- I also don't see what harm it does. It can be simultaneously in the "churches by country" category and in the "churches in Georgia" category. Alaexis (talk) 21:39, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
- Only 1 of those things can be true; it's either a country or it's not. It cannot be both a country and a country-within-a-country. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:11, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Btw there is also Category:Churches in Somaliland which is recognised by even less countries than Abkhazia (0). Alaexis (talk) 15:55, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Does it have a seat or observer status in the General Assembly of the UN? If not, it's not a country. Delete all non qualifiers. Laurel Lodged (talk) 18:25, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- This definition would be consistent. However it would require a lot of work to remove hundreds of categories "X in Taiwan/Kosovo/Somaliland" from "X/Y/Z by country" and put them under "X in China/Serbia/Somali." I don't see any point in it and would be against such an initiative. Alaexis (talk) 21:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Why would you be against such an initiative? All the work? Laurel Lodged (talk) 08:30, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- I see no problem with the current situation. There is no evidence that anyone is inconvenienced by the current categories structure. Alaexis (talk) 09:24, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

File tagging File:Evacuees from Kiryat Shmona2.webp
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Evacuees from Kiryat Shmona2.webp. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |
