User talk:Aiko
Welcome to my talk page.
Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Thanks for uploading File:Die_hystorie_vanden_grooten_Coninck_Alexander_Delft_1491_06.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

File:Molensteenkraag_millstone_ruff_1615-1635.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Category:Reform dress and the 1890s bicycle suit
[edit]The 1890s "bicycle suit" or "bicycle dress" was worn only for riding a bicycle or limited other strenuous gymnastic/athletic activities (not including tennis). It was worn by vigorous young women who were feeling ever so slightly daring (since the bicycle suit was not for the ultra-conservative or the shy), but these women were not necessarily strong feminists, or supporters of dress reform in other areas. Probably some of them were in favor of greater female freedom of dress to some degree, but (unlike the "bloomers" of 1850) wearing a bicycle suit was not a strong personal feminist statement. Churchh (talk) 09:37, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Churchh,
- Reform dress has not much to do with feminism. It was a health thing (like health food [1]), it had to do with being able to move without restraint, breathing normally. Skirts, sleeves and necks a little shorter. No corset, or a more relaxt reform corset. See also: [2]. Aiko (talk) 21:18, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Advocates of reform dress were by definition trying to change (reform) things, whether motivated by reasons of health, feminism, "aesthetic" artistic influences, or a combination of two or three of these. Women who wore bicycle suits weren't necessarily trying to change anything at all (though Jessie in File:Bicycle suit punch 1895.jpg is obviously an exception). Churchh (talk) 17:34, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Churchh, glad to see you back on my talk page.
- Categorising is all about communication and helping users to find the right pictures and/or information. Categorising is not per se about finding the exact definition. Your motivation may be right from another point of view, but is it also right from the point of view of helpful categorisation? Aiko (talk) 17:48, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Picture of the Year 2013 R1 Announcement
[edit]Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Aiko. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Aiko~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
Community Liaison, Wikimedia Foundation

meme / internetmeme
[edit]Hallo Aiko,
Marcel coenders (talk) 12:01, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- Helder. Dank voor je reactie.
- Vraagje. Wat doe je eigenlijk in situaties waar meerdere uitspraken goed zijn? - Aiko (talk) 12:45, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Reform dress has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

Je bedankje
[edit]Hallo Aiko, ik zag je bedankje. Altijd fijn natuurlijk, overkomt me op Commons niet zo vaak. Wat vond je leuk aan deze foto? Groet, Apdency (talk) 19:20, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
Apdency (talk) 08:21, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
