Creation protection

I corrected a svg code error for this file: File:Emblem of Qatar.svg (svg image not displayed after "clicking" on png preview image: displayed white/blank image).

But this file is locked against "overwrite". Therefore, I uploaded my corrrected version separately. My fixed version is this: File:Emblem of Qatar (FIXED SVG CODE ERROR), PROVISIONAL FILE (UPLOADED FOR OVERWRITE), DO NOT USE.svg.

PLEASE, can you overwrite File:Emblem of Qatar.svg using my fixed version (File:Emblem of Qatar (FIXED SVG CODE ERROR), PROVISIONAL FILE (UPLOADED FOR OVERWRITE), DO NOT USE.svg)?

Furthermore, I added to previous file a margin (2 pixel) around image (now 796>800 pixel).

Martin, thanks for notifying. I use to use such a softblock in cases of "good faith" spam, not really because of the name itself. Bots or paid spammers don't request a renaming. Multichill, I've already this link on my user page workbench. I tried several times to talk with them, but either they didn't see (IP changes within one day) it or they didn't want to. Hard to say, I'm AGF, there are good DRs and, say, less good ones. Upload nach Commons von Fotos klappt bei mir nicht

Hallo Achim, ich verfasse gerade Bern-Brünnen in dewiki und will den Artikel auch mit eigenen Fotos weiter bebildern. Nach Commons mit dem Wizard schaff ich das aber nicht weder einzeln, noch eine Serie. Trotzdem ich alles ausfülle und own work als Lizenz wähle, kommt am Ende die martialische Meldung, dass man nicht entscheiden könne, ob ich das selber fotografiert habe udnes wird nicht hochgeladen. Ein Beispielbild hab ich nach de hochladen können. In Commons werde ich wohl als Ghormon als Neuling geführt. Hast Du einen Tipp, wie ich das schaffen kann? Die Bilder sind vom Iphone, wo das Format neu .heif ist - was ich nach jpg konvertiert habe. Dabe sollten die Kameradaten verlorengegangen sein. Kann das eine Ursache sein? Ghormon, wir haben da 2 Problemchen: Das erste ist die Uploaddrosselung (die hab ich für dich für eine Woche deaktiviert). Das ist Standard für Benutzer mit erst wenigen Uploads, weil mache Vandalen hunderte Dateien mit Müll hochgeladen haben. Das zweite ist die Dateigröße. Deine Fotos sind mit 360 Pixeln sehr klein. Lässt sich da was machen, min 1024 oder 1200 Pixel oder so? Der Grund ist, dass sehr viele Bilder, die aus dem Web geklaut werden, klein sind, weswegen ein Filter die Dateigröße überwacht. Aha, dann hat es vier genommen und dann zugemacht ;-) Das Problem ist, dass sie im Original in .heic jetzt vorliegen - natürlich in grosser Auflösung. Das kann man noch nicht nehmen? Risiko wäre, dass das nicht alle lesen können. Ich muss dann mal schauen, wie ich die grösser umwandeln kann. Noch eine Frage: Ich habe jetzt ein Konvertierungsprogramm gefunden: https://heic.online/de/ Bei Bildgrösse kann man die Höhe, die Breite oder DPI einstellen. Im Original sind die ja recht gross auf dem Ipone. Gibt es da eine Empfehlung? --Ghormon (talk) 16:23, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

Ghormon, das lässt sich so nicht verallgemeinern, weil das ja auch von der Bandbreite der Datenverbindung abhängt. Ein großes Foto wie z. B. dieses braucht vielleicht von einem Dorf in Vietnam aus eine Viertelstunde zum Hochladen. Aber 2048 Pixel Seitenlänge sind gut brauchbar, würd ich mal sagen. Noch was: Falls du die schon vorhandenen noch vergrößern möchtest: Einfach auf "Eine neue Version dieser Datei hochladen" klicken und die größere Version drüberbügeln. Hallo, ich glaube, dass ich es jetzt habe. Konvertieren, Beschneiden und Hochladen klappt jetzt. Bern-Gäbelbach war der nächste Artikel. Ich bring zugleich auch die Kategorien etwas in Ordnung, dass sie direkt mit den Artikeln verbunden werden können. Du hattest bei Bern-Brünnen gestern die Wikidata-Infobox verbunden. Da heute einer auch Bern-Gäbelbach mit Wikidata verbunden hat, hab ich Gleiches getan - es sagt aber "No Wikidata found" Dauert das eine Weile? Die Seite ‪Bern-Gäbelbach‬ wurde mit dem Wikidata-Objekt Q88864034 verbunden... hab ich als Meldung bekommen. Ich werde die nächsten Tage noch ein paar Quartiere mir vornehmen. Ghormon, das war alles in Ordnung, so wie du das gemacht hast. Nur weiß jetzt das System noch nicht, dass die Kategorieseite auf Commons und die Seite auf Wikipedia zum selben Datenobjekt gehören. Da gehst du auf die Kategorieseite Category:Bern-Gäbelbach und klickst in der linken Spalte unten auf "Links hinzufügen", wählst "dewiki" aus und trägst den Seitennamen der deutschspr. Wikipedia, also "Bern-Gäbelbach" ein, fertig. Das mit dem Uploadlimit erledigt sich von selbst nach x (weiß jetzt nich auswendig, wie viel) Uploads. Gruß, --Achim (talk) 16:57, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Die Daten (hier im Sinne von Eigenschaften), die eingetragen wurden, unterscheiden sich. Die liegen auf Wikidata, und da kommt man hin, wenn man im Kasten auf die "Q..."-Nummer klickt. Da kannst du sehen, dass bei Bethlehem d:Q822081 jemand schon Vieles eingetragen hat und bei Bern-Gäbelbach d:Q88864034 noch wenig vorhanden ist. --Achim (talk) 17:14, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

However, a quick look at the talk page would suffice to see that User:Карадагци—apparently a single-purpose account narrowly focused on this map—is not able to engage in a meaningful conversation. The user resorted to accusing others of ethnic phobias and later engaged in even worse personal attacks as soon as (s)he was confronted over factual inaccuracies on the map. The only thing I would ask you is to place {{Inaccurate-map-disputed}} tag as I see no solution to the problem unless that user learns to use normal vocabulary. Yes Achim55, please help. First of all this is a false information on my account: “ apparently a single-purpose account narrowly focused on this map—”, given by Kober, you can check it your self and see that’s not a truth. Second, you can read the discussion and see how she(Kober) and her friend start to attacking me and people who made that map, through accusations of: “an intentional nationalistic distortion of historical reality“ , “this map is a POV and dishonesty”, “magalomaniac nationalism”. Then, after that she(he) engages personal attack like telling me to “have your body temperature checked at the nearest medical facility asap before posting here again” , while she(he) know this isn’t the time to make that kind of comment due to coronavirus covid-19. Telling me disrespectfully to “Go play with your maps elsewhere”, like wikimedia is they personal domain. Plus this is not my maps. I have stuck in a new filter that manages some of the spambot junk with a challenge that has been getting through locally. If it is just duplicating other stuff and not proving of value, then feel welcome to turn it off. It has a really good and stable history of stopping crud and I haven't seen a false positive, and it is only a challenge anyway, and I am unaware of needing to advance to a disallow setting. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:42, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

National Assembly Hungary

Hello, thank you for the revert in response to my objection to the update on File:National Assembly of Hungary (2018).svg. However, the newer version had a few good changes, and I was trying to make my own update to the file. I wasn't able to update I guess due to low seniority or something, so had to make my own new file, called File:Hungary National Assembly 2018.svg at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hungary_National_Assembly_2018.svg. I changed the English language Wiki, National Assembly Hungary, to display the new file, however, this is not ideal and if possible I'd like my new file merged to the old one. Thank you. MajorValerian, das ist kein Problem, aber die Begründung "Weil sich eine Person darauf befindet die nicht auf dem Bild sein will." ist etwas daneben, wenn gar keine Person auf dem Foto ist. Auf der unscharfen Reflexion auf der Scheibe ist ja nun wirklich nichts zu erkennen. Sollte sich der Löschantrag vielleicht auf ein anderes Bild beziehen? FYI: AF/120 & new AF/233

AF120 is one of a couple of our general ns:2 filter for spambots, and was imported from meta ages ago—was set to 1) warn, 2) disallow.

I have imported the/my updated version to AF/233, though I don't wish to set to disallow without seeing its consequences locally. So what I have done is set AF/120 to just disallow, as AF/233 can manage warnings, and I have /233 as warnings only. Noting that there is a new spambot methodology where they are using urls of unapproved posts to messageboards and the like, so clearly they are visible as unapproved posts, making them prime to spam. You can see an example at Special:Deletedcontributions/CamillaWirtz, and commons had quite a collection. — billinghurst sDrewth 15:55, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

Bogoria, powiat staszowski

Sie haben unter Frage gestellt meine Bitte für die Umbennenug. Also die Fakten. In Polen befinden sich drei Orte mit dem Namen "Bogoria" (zwei Dörfe und eine kleine Kolonie). Betroffene Bogoria in powiat staszowski ist eine ehemalige Stadt (Stadtrechte verloren durch die russische Besatzung als Teilnahme der Bevölkerung in Aufständen gegen die Russen) die ihre Stadtrechte wieder beantragt hat. Das andere Dorf "Bogoria" in powiat sandomierski ist ein kleiner Kaff mit ca 200 Einwohner, was keine Kirche hat und bildet keine Pfarrerei, da gibts nicht mal eine Kapelle. Da keine der anderen "Bogorias" eine Kirche bzw. eien Friedhof besitzt ist die Zugabe "powiat staszowski" bei Kirche und Friedhof unsinnig. 95.116.110.26 22:31, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Hallo Victor, kein Problem, das kriegen wir hin. Das in diesem Fall notwendige Verfahren nennt sich OTRS und sieht komplizierter aus als es ist. Wir benötigen nur eine E-Mail der Rechteinhaberin, dass alles so in Ordnung ist, gewissermaßen als Bestätigung, dass das Foto nicht geklaut wurde. Frau Popp als Inhaberin der Rechte möge bitte diese Einverständniserklärung per E-Mail an permissions-commons-de@wikimedia.org schicken (darin bitte den Dateinamen "File:Susanne Popp, 2019.jpg" eintragen, damit die Mail zugeordnet werden kann). Das war's damit auch schon. Es dauert meist ein paar Tage, bis die Angelegenheit bearbeitet ist und die Datei einen entsprechenden Vermerk bekommt. Falls wider Erwarten die Datei dennoch gelöscht werden sollte, ist das kein Problem, denn sie wird nicht wirklich gelöscht, sondern nur "versteckt", so dass die Löschung dann wieder rückgängig gemacht werden kann.
