Korean flags
[edit]These flags appear to be copyright violations, and will be tagged for speedy deletion accordingly. For example, you claim (via the PD-self license tage) that you are the copyright holder of File:Flag of Ulsan.png, yet the main website for Ulsan, showing the image in the top left corner, has a very clear copyright notice at the bottom of the page. File tagging File:Tianjin_montage.png
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Tianjin_montage.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Tianjin_montage.png ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Provinces of North Korea.PNG
[edit]Hello, you updated File:Provinces of North Korea.PNG and removed Rasŏn. I couldn't find any evidence for the dissolution of Rasŏn province. Where do you have that information from?
And then you should be careful about updating images in a way like that. You changed the numbering. That will break any articles that rely on the numbering. It would be better to upload the map under a new name and keep the old map to document the former borders. (The old map could be renamed as soon as the function to move images is activated again.) --Slomox (talk) 22:17, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 05:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

- Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
- State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
- If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
- Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
- Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.
If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.
It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.
You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.
Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.

I know you prefer to hide your stealing also on english Wikipedia, [1], but if you not finally clean out all your stolen images, all your photographs will end up in a mass deletion request - here and on en.wikipedia. You do great work in some areas, but on the other hand, based on the several stolen images I found and in my personal opinion, for me you are a very untrustful contributor. With every photo I see you uploading I make a sigh and think, where this is again stolen from. Clean out the copyright violation mess you created! --Martin H. (talk) 21:33, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi!
I have a big request. KTX service on the second phase of the Gyeongbu High Speed Railway will start on 1 November 2010. For the occasion, I am overhauling the wikipedia:Korea Train Express article and a number of attached articles. You have created/edited a very nice KTX network map, however, it needs several updates and some corrections (and I'm not good enough with graphical software to do anything as nice):
- A main problem of the old articles was the thorough confusion of infrastructure (high-speed railway lines) and services (KTX "Lines"). Furthermore, with the addition of a lot more different KTX services in the near future, the indication of them on a geographical map would make the vicinity of Seoul too clogged. Therefore, a fundamental change I request is that the map be turned into a map of infrastructure (as the original German-language version is). In practice:
- there should be no parallel "Honam Line" alongside the Gyeongbu HSR from Seoul to Daejeon;
- drop the "Spec Informations" from the legend;
- the terminology in the legend should change: High-speed railway (Vmax = 305 km/h)/Conventional railway (Vmax = 150-200 km/h), then separately: Under construction/Planned (with the last as a new category), and then Gyeongbu HSR/Gyeongbu Line/Honam Line/etc. (more below);
- in parallel, colours could be used to differentiate the rail lines, that is: one colour for Gyeongbu HSR (from just beyond wangmyeong to Busan), another for the (conventional) Gyeongbu Line (from Seoul to just beyond Gwangmyeong and from East Daegu to Busan via Miryang), and a third for the (conventional) Honam ine (from just North of Daejeon to Mokpo and Gwangju);
- the high-speed lines could be indicated more prominently, say with an even thicker line.
- The alignment between Seoul and Cheonan-Asan is wrong, swinging to the East where it should swing West and all the stations are misplaced. To correct it, you could use Google maps or the map on page 38 of this pdf.
- The alignment of the Gyeongbu HSR section that is about to open between East Daegu and Busan goes too close to the coast. Again you could use Google maps or the map on page 38 of this pdf.
- You might want to indicate the in-construction sections of the Gyeongbu HSR across Daejeon and Daegu and indicate that the parallel Gyeongbu Line is used at present (north of the HSR line east of Daejeon, south of it west of Daegu).
- Please add the new stations along the new section ("New Gyeongju" and "New Ulsan"), as well as the new Osong and Gimcheon-Gumi stations on the existing line (again see this pdf). Also, please change the spelling of Milyang to Miryang (both would be correct, but Korail seems to prefer the latter).
- Please add the missing stations Gyeryong and Nonsan on the Honam Line (between West Daejeon and Iksan). Also, rename Songjeon to Gwangju-Songjeon.
- In Seoul, please add Yeongdeungpo (between Yongsan and Gwangmyeong, some KTX trains will halt there from 1 November), and also Gyeonggui Line until Haengsin, 15 km northwest/downriver from Seoul (some KTX services terminate there).
- Add two sections of the Gyeongjeon Line as in construction: from the junction between Miryang and Gupo to Masan (upgrade finished and KTX service from 15 December 2010), and from there to Jinju (upgrade+KTX service 2012).
- Add the Jeolla Line, branching East from Iksan, with at least the stations Jeonju (where it turns South), Suncheon (junction with the Gyeongjeon Line) and Yeosu, as in construction (electrification and KTX service open April 2011)
- Add "AREX", a non-HSR line between Seoul and Incheon International Airport, as in-construction, and add the island itself on which the airport is (some KTX services will go there instead of downtown Seoul from 2012).
- Add the "Honam HSR", which is in construction from Osong to Gwangju/Songjeong (opens 2014) and planned from there to Mokpo (2016 or 2017). For alignment and stations, again see this pdf.
- Add two sections of the "Donghae Nambu Line" branching from New Gyeongju: to Pohang (upgrade in construction, opens with KTX service 2014) and to (downtown) Ulsan (planned for 2014).
- Add the "Suseo HSR" (a branch from the Gyeongbu HSR north of Cheonan-Asan towards the Southeast of the Seoul metropolitan area, with the terminus Suseo roughly where you misplaced Yongsan; plan for 2014).

Copyright status: File:GZM Line 8.png
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:GZM Line 8.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

File:Taiwan Province (PRC) prfc map.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

File tagging File:Zeng Qinghong.png
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Zeng Qinghong.png.
Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Zeng Qinghong.png ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Hi there. I noticed that these 2 maps are incorrect in displaying the borders of Vietnam and Cambodia. While the island of Phú Quốc in the Southwest coast of Vietnam is recognized as a Vietnamese territory internationally without any disputes between 2 countries, it is painted green in the map of Cambodia but not in the map of Vietnam. This might lead to the confusion that the island of Phú Quốc is a Cambodian territory. In this article of Phú Quốc it also stated that it is part of Vietnam, specifically in Kiên Giang province. I hope that you may find way to fix these mistakes. Thanks. --NhatMinh1701 (talk) 11:10, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

File:Subdivisions of Fuzhou-China (PRC claim).png requires updating
[edit]Hi ASDFGHJ,
Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed File:Subdivisions of Fuzhou-China (PRC claim).png is out of date. China (PRC) claims Juguang, Lienchiang (formerly Baiquan) is a part of the PRC's Changle District, not the PRC's Lianjiang County. Therefore, those islands should be colored pale blue, not pale green. Also Dongyin, Lienchiang is missing completely. Could you update it? Thanks again.
