Some help
[edit]Hi! I'm Manlleus from catalan wikipedia. I recently saw your translation to arabic of File:Iberomaurisiense-Capsiense-ar.png, it seems like a PNG to PNG translation but, I mostly work in SVG so, I'm figuring how you do to translate PNG files without having the original PNG or project file without text, maybe you can show me how to do that as your PNG translations look so clean, that can me help with some other related images with that format and you may know, redrawing the same whole picture to SVG takes a lot more time and I only do that for selected images. Thanks in advance Manlleus (talk) 15:23, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Manlleus: hello, its a pleasure to meet you. I don't recall if this particular image was uploaded on ar.wiki by another user then i uploaded it here, or i actually translated it from scratch. Anyway, i usually use pixlr or Inkscape or even the paint software. I usually take my time and slowly clean any image, some times bit by bit when the background is complicated, before coloring the background again and adding the text. I'm passionate about creating maps and images in my mother tongue, so if you already have this passion, then everything else is just simple details. best-- باسم (talk) 12:08, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your answer, I'm using also Inkscape, so I'll keep that app because is more familiar to me, but you mention pixlr too, well, looking for some online tools, I found some with AI (Artificial intelligence) that helps to remove text from images (JPG, PNG, etc.). I made some "experiments" and maybe it keeps some artifacts or is more "dirty" (you have to remove it with the eraser) but its actually faster than do the complete "cleaning" part by hand, maybe you may find that useful. Yes, I translate almost any image I find because most of the images are only english or french, so having it in my mother tongue or Spanish looks nicer in the wiki articles. Good luck! - @Manlleus: Thank you, same to you :) I'll check the AI tools as well for sure. Best-- باسم (talk) 05:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
