I cropped an image, which I found on wikicommons, using Croptool (toolforge). Croptool gave an error during first upload, but the upload went through the second time. I then uploaded the cropped image onto a wiki page.

@SierraTangoCharlie1: Hi, and welcome. File:Sharad Malhotra.jpg came from Bollywood Hungama. It uses {{Cc-by-3.0-BollywoodHungama}}, as reviewed by Yann (talk) 13:59, 23 January 2015 (UTC). Yann is allowed to review files because he is an Admin; you are not. When you uploaded File:Sharad Malhotra (cropped).jpg, you inadvertently triggered secret Special:AbuseFilter/70, which prevents users who are not allowed to review files from trying to do that. The best thing to do in that situation is to ask a license reviewer (a member of user group Image reviewers for historical reasons) or an Admin to crop the file for you, crop it locally and upload it yourself using a bare {{Cc-by-3.0-BollywoodHungama}} template, or ignore it. • So to reiterate - I am not allowed to use CropTool to crop and use a watermarked CC-BY-3.0 image, unless I am the admin who reviewed it.

@SierraTangoCharlie1: You are not allowed to use CropTool to crop and use a watermarked CC-BY-3.0 image with a reviewed license for a new filename, unless you are an Admin or License Reviewer. You are allowed to download the image, crop it on your computer and re-upload it as a newer version of the older original image (or use CropTool to do that) subject to COM:OW. If COM:OW dictates that a new file has to be uploaded (with a new name), then a new License Review must be performed, as triggered by a bare template I mentioned above. These rules were developed by the community to protect the project, uploaders, reusers, and our reputation with donor sites like Bollywood Hungama; I'm sorry if they are inconvenient. Edit kind: I was trying to upload a short ogv video on a female Holocnemus pluchei (Marbled Cellar Spider) bouncing in its web and shooting web at the camera from its anal tubercle, which is the proper name of it. It was flagged as unconstructive. It is my own work.

Comments: I feel that showing this behavior from this species of spider and labeling it properly with the proper technical terms is useful to the article. The article is short on high fidelity images and has no video for any of the spider's behavior. Also, I think the video itself might be useful to the Pholcidae's page, which currently has a really low res video of the same sort of behavior. Original file is huge and I ported it to an OGV through the web because wikipedia does not allow mp4s, avis or other file types, and the recommended software to use to port to OGV is defunct for the Mac--so that article needs revision or Wikipedia needs to choose a file format that Premiere and iMovie can port to, explaining the small file format. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload png and smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg images as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png images are not allowed at all. The following applies to each image. You indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a png or smaller jpg image, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including any metadata, but if you were not the original image designer or photographer, that person may need to license it on their official website or social media or send permission via OTRS with a carbon copy to you. Also, any png image will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744) or jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload svg or jpg versions, too. If you can't get a compliant license, the image may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter.
