Filter suggestion

Perhaps it is possible to have a filter prevent that sources are given as links to google - google itself is never a source. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 12:10, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Prevents me blanking a section

The filter should not be preventing me from blanking a section. A warning might be OK, but simply assuming that section blanking is vandalism is just silly. I am unable to make a simple correction. I want to improve Commons, but I can't. Oh well. -Pete F (talk) 04:39, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Erroneous blocks

Abuse filter should not be used for access control in trivial cases. If you want access control in specific namespaces use an extension that implements this in a dependable and fairly uniform way, do not use the abuse filter as a hackish workaround. People will be logged out, people will edit – especially in their own user space, accept it! Jeblad (talk) 10:42, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Please respond in the same language if you want an answare. It is about a specific case where the abuse filter is set up for namespace access control. This is a very bad work around for use of proper access control. Somebody needs to investagate this photo. Take a real close look in the upper left hand corner of this photo, take a look at the cloud that looks like angel wings spread fully open and take a look at the semi-dark object in the angel wing cloud, you tell me what that is? I'll tell you what is, it's a ANGEL that was caught on film by accident, angels never ever let there photos be taken or be caught in a photo, but this here is 1 in a trillion photo shot.This is NOT a joke this is the real deal here, this will go viral in a matter of days.Mike Michaels. I study photos a lot to see if angels will let there body of light to ever be photographed and this is like hitting the the jackpot, I will not go further into details to keep the news crews away from.

I've no experience with Wikipedia Commons — I didn't even know it takes a separate registration than regular Wikipedia — and this was the only way I could remove this just-brought-over image before it becomes entrenched.

You are allowed, but please use a single-line and do not insert whitespace around universal replace:

北二高碧潭橋介紹

北二高碧潭橋係台灣區北部第二高速公路重要橋梁之一，本橋自民國75年6月辦理設計於民國86年6月完工，全長約800公尺九跨連續預力混凝土曲線拱型橋梁，水平曲線半徑750公尺採南北兩向雙座分離式橋梁斜向跨越新店溪；主橋橋型選擇鑲空倒三角形預力混凝土箱型拱橋，拱型採多次元方程式曲率半徑約300公尺，結合了傳統拱橋抗壓及預力抗張兩大特點，創造出具現代感之長跨距拱橋，主跨160公尺，拱高約20公尺；施工方法主跨採場鑄節塊懸臂施工法，⋯⋯側跨及引橋則採就地支撐場鑄工法。

本工程位於台北市郊新店附近碧潭風景區吊橋下游約250公尺處，規劃路線北起新店五號隧道以半徑750公尺曲線橋跨越新店溪，向南銜接安坑交流道，南下北上各佈設三車道，為兩座分離式橋梁，漸變空隙1至9公尺。

本橋具有六項特點：(1)工址位於新店溪碧潭為優美遊覽風景區上，上游並有歷史悠久之古老吊橋，展現古老與近代之美相互輝映，(2)主橋型配合周遭環境景觀為一長跨徑且具優美曲線之構造物，(3)採用大跨距橋跨且為曲線橋故設計時須考量承受靜載重之巨大扭力，(4)高橋墩(約20多公尺)且橋面寬16.35公尺三車道為一單孔箱型梁梁寬8.80公尺，(5)橋全長約800公尺九跨連續除頭尾外之間完全無伸縮縫以達行車時之平順性，該種設計為當時國內唯一僅有之橋樑，(6)施工方式主跨採場鑄節塊懸臂施工法，亦為當時國內一相當特殊之施工方式。

As you can see from the template output above, this expands to "File:Template:...". CommonsDelinker is for file replacements and doesn't do template replacements. (It also doesn't need to be a global replacement on all Wikimedia wikis, as CommonsDelinker would try to do.) This would probably be a job for AWB (maybe for someone else via Commons:Bots/Work requests). But also - have you seen any actual examples of this particular template being applied wrongly in this way? That template is quite old and should be OK; problems of this type are usually for newer templates that haven't been internationalised properly (or only done recently). Ah, good point, but I wonder - Commons:Category_renaming says it can be used on Categories!

Yes, Delinker is basically for global file replacements but it also does Commons category moves. Rd232 (talk) 17:19, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Elvey, Commons:Rename a category states: User:CommonsDelinker/commands — put your requests on the talk page. Use the template {{move cat|Old name|New name}}. move cat ≠ universal replace. Rillke, thanks for the guidance. You were saying move cat ≠ universal replace, and I see that. I'm not sure if you were saying that if a user with filemover tries to use 'move cat', the abuse filter won't trigger, but 'universal replace' will (and should) trigger it.
