Making Wiki Loves Folklore available in your local language
You can help make the photo contest Wiki Loves Folklore more accessible and available to more people around the world by translating the upload wizard, templates, and pages to your local language, regardless of whether a local contest is organised in your country. See for an overview of templates/pages to translate at: Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2023/Translations
Organize
If you decide to organize Wiki Loves Folklore in your country or a more local location, you must follow the following steps:
- Have or create clear recommendations for photos – Define what aspects photographers should focus on.
- Have a working organization team, and name the responsible contact, e.g. by a list of helping users.
- Create the landing page on Commons for your local event (
Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore/..
), and translate the various templates and pages (see Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2023/Translations). The category for your country will be created and implemented by the international Team - For onsite events, set up dashboard prior to the event.
In the upload wizard, participants will be asked to indicate the country of where the photo has been taken. International Team members can provide you a special upload link for your country so participants do not have to add it.
