Wiki Loves Folklore
Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photographic contest organized annually at Wikimedia Commons to document folk cultures in different regions of the world. These documentation could be in images or videos. The Igbo community will join in the contest by telling the Igbo cultural heritage story in pictures, videos or audios. To put the images into good use, there will also be a gender gap edit-a-thon on Igbo content to create or expand articles on feminism, women biographies and gender-focused topics on Igbo Wiki projects.
Scope
This photography contest is focused on Igbo folk culture on categories, such as, but not limited to:
- Folk festivals
- folk dances
- folk music
- folk activities
- folk games
- folk cuisine
- folk wear
- folklore and tradition: folktales, traditional song and dance, folk plays, folkgames
- seasonal event
- calendar customs
- folk arts
- folk religion
- Mythology, etc.
Prizes
• 1st prize: $50
• 2nd prize: $30
• 3rd prize: $20
• 4th prize: $15
• 5th prize: $10
Consolation prize for 5 contributors
• 6th prize: ₦5000
• 7th prize: ₦5000
• 8th prize: ₦5000
• 9th prize: ₦5000
• 10th prize: ₦5000

- Results Declaration: To be declared after assessment
What we won't accept
We won't accept media that are:
- Out of Commons Project scope.
- Which lack EXIF information.
- that are excessively processed and digitally altered.
- Pornographic and explicit images.
- Artwork due to copyright issues, etc.
