Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2023 in Hausa Community
Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photographic contest organized by Wikimedia communities to document cultures in different regions of the world. The Wiki Loves Folklore 2023 in Hausa Community is a continuation of Wiki Loves Folklore 2021 in Nigeria and Wiki Loves Folklore 2022 in Nigeria which the Hausa Wikimedians User Group organized. This year's theme focuses on folk culture, Folk art, storytelling, Folk dance, Folk festivals, Folk games, Folk magic, Folk museums, Folk music, religion, Traditional music, Traditional songs, and Folk wrestling.
The basic aim of the competition is to collect photos of human cultural diversity to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects. The be the winning contestant, the photos provided must match the theme, although the contest is not limited to any official list of protected areas, which means that most users will be able to find several pertaining subjects close to the theme, whether festivals, dances, cuisine, clothing or daily life routine emphasizing on folk culture of that community.

There are Certificates to be given to the top 10 overall contributors and there would be international prizes for the best three photographs.

How do I participate?
[edit]Everybody is allowed to participate, regardless of age, nationality, and place of living, given they agree to publish their work under the Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.
In order to participate in the contest, one needs:
- to have an account on Wikimedia Commons;
- take pictures of the Hausa folk culture;
- Upload the pictures on Commons. Don't forget to add this, Category:Images from Wiki Loves Folklore 2023 in Hausa Community

[edit]We won't accept media that are:
- Files that are out of Wikimedia Commons Project scope.
- Files lacking EXIF information.
- Files that are excessively processed and digitally altered.
- Pornographic and explicit files/images.
- Artwork due to copyright issues, etc.
