Hello, I'm an autopatroller, rollbacker and autoconfirmed user on Commons. I've made over 170 edits to the Template namespace here and I'd like to request this right to help maintain templates on this project just as I have been doing at Wikipedia (with my main account there, en:User:Neveselbert) for nearly four years. Thank you. ᴀlbanɢeller (talk) 14:37, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi.
I request Template editor rights, particularly to add CSS classes. All templates should have at least one CSS class on main element.
I have great experience with templates, parameters, parser functions, CSS styles.

Edits to Template namespace on frwikibooks seem really good,  Support from a (fellow) template editor. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 05:34, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I edit templates and modules on enwiki and wikidata, and it would occasionally be useful to do so here also. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:26, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. I don't see any reason to decline, trusted user, please try to help at COM:TER if possible. Thanks! -- CptViraj (talk) 04:24, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm 15+ years commons-user, ru-wikipedia-sysop, commons/ru-wikipedia bot handler, commons filemover. I have planned development of lic.tags of post-Soviet states (including their ru/en translations). Template editor flag will be very handy for me, more then {{Editprotected}}-procedure. My recent request can be found on Template talk:Kremlin.ru/en and Template talk:PD-Russia/en. I am requesting template editor rights here on Commons in order to fix neglected Linter errors in template space. Fixing errors in transcluded pages is the fastest way to reduce the more than 12,000,000 Linter errors here on Commons. I have been a template editor on en.WP and have made 33,000 edits in Template space, with no blocks or other formal warnings, and I have fixed tens of thousands of Linter errors of every kind. I have submitted a few recent template edit requests after testing in template sandboxes, but it would be more straightforward for me to be able to edit the templates myself. Thank you for your consideration. Jonesey95 (talk) 02:01, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to leave this open (at least overnight, maybe for a day or two) for possible objections. Looking at your edits, I have one note for @Jonesey95: please use {{Edit request}} when making edit requests in the future so they can actually get seen! Otherwise they'll just sit there unfulfilled. Best, —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 02:21, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I would have done so, but I am less familiar with the interface here at Commons and didn't see a quick way to make that template appear. I have noticed that many nice UI features that I take for granted at en.WP, like the automatic template/sandbox diff link and testcases link in template documentation, and the "Submit an edit request" button, do not appear to exist here. I would like the template editor role so I can make further edits to templates to reduce the linter errors. I've already made a number of edits fix issues in unprotected templates and have also used the {{Edit request}} template a number of times. Thank you. ✓ Granted. -- CptViraj (talk) 05:55, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am a trusted template editor on the English Wikipedia and I have been updating logos (US Government seals per their brand guides/websites) and am unable to edit certain licensing templates due to the protections. I will not abuse this right and will use it with due diligence. Thank you. ~~

I'd like to help out whenever possible. I have found myself unable to edit certain templates, because they are protected, and these changes are rather minor, so minor most of the times I don't even place an edit request. FWIW I've been a file mover for several months with no objections. I also want to request rollback rights for the same reasoning, adding that I usually patrol my watchlist and the right would come in handy. I have been a rollbacker for about a year at the Spanish Wikipedia, without objections either, so I know how to use the tool. Thank you. Bedivere (talk) 02:30, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bedivere, hello. Could you show some examples about templates and your editing plans? Kadı Message 19:40, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just recently I made a edit request in order to have a licensing tag updated. My work in templates would be in the likes of that, just making minor corrections and or fixes to translations, for example. Regarding rollback, I patrol a lot of files in my watchlist, I think I'd do fine with these for the moment. Bedivere (talk) 19:44, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bedivere, ✓ Done. Kadı Message 19:49, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Kadı ! Should I file a separate rollback request? Bedivere (talk) 19:50, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please :) @Bedivere Kadı Message 19:52, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Argentine laws and PD-AR-Gov – Break. I would like to edit {{PD-AR-Gov}}, but find it is protected. More generally, I would like the ability to edit other templates that have been protected, mainly to do with copyright. I have template editor permission on en.wikipedia (en:Special:UserRights/Aymatth2). I have created or edited many templates, some quite complex, on Commons. See [1]. Thank you.
