Commons:Help page maintenance/Further key help pages
Here are further help pages that are useful for people that get involved deeper into Wikimedia Commons. In order to keep the number of pages in Commons-namespace small and maintainable and in order to avoid duplicate work help pages not about Wikimedia Commons but the MediaWiki-software itself will be moved to Meta-Wiki as the MediaWiki handbook is updated only there by the developers on a regular basis. Also pages about collaborations and such will be moved to Meta-wiki as they affect the whole Wikimedia Community and are better kept in the designated central place - the Meta-Wiki.

Tasks
[edit]Page has been moved from Commons:Criteria for inclusion to Commons:Project scope and has been completely rewritten in English. It has been merged with Commons:Copyright and partially with the only historical relevant Commons:Project plan. Several parts of the content were moved into Commons:First steps and Commons:File types. So it needs to be retranslated and renamed in all other languages as well. Also the translations of Commons:Copyright need to be redirected to the respective translation of Commons:Project scope and the project plan should be unlinked in other articles and Commons:Project scope article should be linked instead.

[edit]Rewriting and explaining the category structure of Commons and giving a clear policy in order to avoid that people add zillions of categories to an image and in order to avoid too deep hierarchy. Related to that it needs to explain as well how to create category trees like the ones now sitting in Category:Commons category schemes (of course these category schemes are instranslateable).
Extending the page topic in order to explain when people should use categories and when galleries (Maybe changing the name to a more generic name).
English version needs to be written first to a translation.
