•  Comment I wonder if this would do better on the FPC project on English Wikipedia than here. FPC on ENWiki tends to put more emphasis on 'encyclopedic value' and may be more likely to favour a very important and useful illustration that adds a lot to an article but doesn't necessarily have the immediate 'wow-factor.'
