List of libraries in Paris

User:Adamant1 made a speedy deletion, with reason "CSD G2 (unused and implausible, or broken redirect)", but I think this would be loss of a lot of information. The links in the table refer to Commons categories and there is a photo gallery. So I do not see why this gallery page should be deleted. And there still is no policy for deleting these kind of gallery pages (other than having just one or none media files), see Commons talk:Galleries#How to handle Gallery pages with a wrong format? for the discussion.. @JopkeB: I said twice in the discussion on the gallery talk page that I nominated the galleries for speedy deletion because they only contained a single image, which was your standard that you told people to follow after you edited the guideline to say single image galleries qualify for speedy deletion. It had nothing do with the discussing that you linked to. No offense, but the repeated lying on your part around this is totally ridiculous and bordering on harassment at this point. Seriously, stop lying about it and stop trying to act like me nominating the image for deletion had anything to do with the current conversation. There's no reason you can't just ask for the galleries to be undeleted without disingenuously trying to make it about me ignoring a conversation that I've said multiple times now has absolutely nothing to do with why I nominated the galleries for deletion. In my opinion "a single image" is not the same as "a single image and a lot of other information like a table". That is why I asked for the undeletion. And the last part of this discussion is just about these gallery pages, because we are discussing what we will do with gallery pages with tables without (enough) images. That's not why you asked for the galleries to be undeleted. We'll have to agree to disagree though. I don't know what to call your behavior other then lying. It's not like you didn't falsely accuse me of vandalism and insinuate on P199's talk page that I was trying to sneakly nominate the galleries for deletion just because I don't like them or whatever. I've explained multiple times now on several talk pages that I nominated the galleries for deletion because you changed the guideline to say that single image galleries qualify for speedy deletion. Yet your still acting like it was due to a personal dislike of galleries or some nonsense and that I was intentionally ignoring the discussion when I wasn't. Your clearly intentionally being dishonest and making it about me to justify undeleting the galleries. There's no reason you couldn't have made the request without repeatedly making it personal and misconstruing things on my end. Regardless, I've said multiple times now that I don't care about it. Really, all you had to do was leave me a message on my talk page saying you thought the galleries should be undeleted and I probably would have supported you. @Jmabel: Maybe its just me but I don't think one mistake out of the thousands of DR and SD I've done on here warrants the month and a half of JopkeB making dishonest, bad faithed accusations about my motiviations. Like look at Andy Dingley's mouth frothing nonsense below this. I was merely suggesting that you should be more careful about presuming bad faith from others, when you also do things that could be sanely construed as bad faith.   •  Keep This raises serious behavioural questions, and not for the first time.
There is no way that blanking a page of this size and then claiming COM:CSD#G2 can be a valid deletion, or anything other than disruptive.
There is no way that re-listing it for deletion immediately after a DR closed as keep can be anything other than disruptive.
To re-list it as a speedy deletion after a DR is to completely fail to understand speedy deletions (speedy deletions overall, not just G2)
At the very least, any future mis-use of CSD like this (on any page) should lead to a topic ban or block.
There is a valid question about galleries, see Commons talk:Galleries#How to handle Gallery pages with a wrong format? . Nothing on this DR gives any valid reason for deletion in this case, or that I've seen would affect any of the others. In which case, keep. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:48, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Andy Dingley: not that I think you care sincw your clearly just being an opertistic cry bully as usual but P199 had indicated on my talk page and their undeletion comment that they had undeleted the galleries because I hadn't followed the proper precedure originally by blanking the pages when I nominated the galleries for deletion. So I renominated them without blanking them. Since it seemed like that was the reason they had been undeleted. Not neccesarily anything else. Again, because what P199 told me. Maybe its just me, but I don't really see what the issue there is or how its a behavioral problem on my part to follow an admins instructions. You clearly never cared tough. I'll retract it when I'm at my computer in a while, but I'd appreciate it if Andy Dingley toned down the insulting rhetoric on their end. It super uncalled for when I was just doing what Yann and P199 said. I didn't even start this in the first place but Yann did tell me on my talk page to do a bulk deletion request. So I don't really what Andy Dingley problem is or why I'm the one getting badgered about it when it's not even my thing. Thr whole thing just comes off as super unhinged on Andy's end.   • As I now understand that you simply mis-filed this as COM:CSD#G2 rather than COM:CSD#GA2, then I would be happy to withdraw my claim that the first speedy was invalid. I would still argue that this is far from a good speedy, but it is within policy. For that reason, I've already posted here: Commons talk:Criteria for speedy deletion#Proposal: Remove speedy deletion for gallery-specific criteria. Both these criteria are valid reasons to claim a deletion of a gallery via DR, but they're not clear enough (at least, not with current wording) to justify a speedy deletion. There are too many exception cases where such a deletion is anything but unarguable, thus not a simple case that we can speedy.

I would be happy to withdraw my claim that the first speedy was invalid. Fair enough. I didn't even neccesarily disagree with you that the galleries probably shouldn't have been nominated for speedy deletion to begin with. I was just following the guidelines as they were at the time. I totally support them being changed to exclude galleries though.
You absolutely need to stop posting these tirades of abuse here I think you need to look in the mirror Andy. Your the one who went off on a multiple paragraph, verbally abusive rant towards me about how the DR raises serious behavioral questions on my end when this was opened by JopkeB and Yann was the one who suggested doing a mass DR for the galleries in the first place. Maybe I could have phrased my message better, but the fact is that you have a history of attacking me for no reason and trying to get me blocked for things that are clearly spurious. If I ever get blocked simply for calling someone's behavior what it is, cool. That's life. But I'm not going to just sit here and nod in agreement that my behavior is a problem when it comes to something that I had nothing do with though.
