- Hi Pete F, thanks for sharing the link to the original file featured in this slide. I have now added that link in this photo's description. I don't think the photo should be deleted, because it is part of a visual report on that meeting: to replace that image with a completely different image would break the flow and continuity of that report. Out of curiosity though: is the report you're talking about something that was produced off wiki (or on a private wiki)? I did check before nominating, but only saw it in use on this page: User:Fabrice Florin (WMF)/gallery If that page is what you mean by the report though, it might be helpful if you could add a few words of explanation to that page as well. These kinds of user galleries are often huge collections, where the user doesn't attach any particular value to individual photos on them, but is just keeping track of a bunch of stuff. - It is bullying to intimidate a new user like this. Although most probably nothing good will come from here (her professor had the class join Wikipedia to experience collaborative tech writing, whoopderdoo!), this is not the case of an obvious troll or someone using Commons as a hosting service — therefore she deserves better than terse boilerplate talk (not to mention some extra attention about usege and other uploads).
- The photo is bad, I agree, bad lighting ruins the composition — but the DR as worded can be misconstrued to the effect that any personal photo is off Common’s scope, which is patently fasle.

- While I agree with the sentiment, the only useful way to fix this problem is to reduce the exaggerated proeminence given to the mobile uploads gadget in the mobile versions of Commons and several Wikipedias (i.a., taking down imbecile things like «This article lacks a photo — shoot one and upload it right now!»). For that, the foundation is the target to be addressed; lashing at individual uploads is petty and inffective.
- Secondly, what the heck are “personal” photos, and why do you hate them? Most photos we curate and cherish are “personal”, i.e., shot by a person. Moreover, even considering a wider meaning of the word "personal", — again most of our valuable media was created and uploaded, and is being curated, within a framework of purely personal interest, as opposed to professional or any other “unpersonal” attachment. Can we stop calling something personal when we want to disparage items simply deemed frivolous and off-topic?

After today identifying around 20 uploads as copyvio (grabbed from Panoramio, details at User talk:Ростислав Камерістов) it´s difficult to believe that this remaining file would be own work: IMHO untrusted user uploading a bunch of copyrighted material (small/inconsistent resolutions, missing exif) so these ones (per COM:PRP) can't be believed either.

It is clear that the photograph is currently published at http://www.erh.noaa.gov/akq/wx_events/severe/april28_2008/photos/photos.html and both from the OTRS correspondence and use on news sites in original reports of the Tornado that the photograph is unlikely to have been taken by a US Government or agency employee.

- sorry, you are correct. we do know generally this was a stand/display at this show, but my question is a little more specific, then: what is this photo supposed to represent? it seems to just be a shot to show some ambiance, and doesnt document clearly a specific feature of the show. why is the word "trust" floating there? what are the bands there for? if people feel that its within scope as an ambience shot, so be it, not a big problem.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 17:29, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

- Dobrý den, díky za Vaši novou úpravu stránky na wikipedii.cs a nahrazení této (tam použité) fotografie zde jinou. Taková úprava je asi objektivně vhodnější než smazání obrázku z hesla. Dalším mým argumentem pro ponechání je skutečnost, že postavy ve skutečnosti pomáhají odhadnout skutečnou velikost věnce, což okolní objekty ne (podobně lze ocenit Kaufbeuren Adventskranz (2).jpg). Nicméně jak říkám, lze osoby odmazat ale nevidím v tom přínos. Výhodou tohoto zobrazení věnce oproti ostatním fotografiím rekordních věnců ze stejné lokality je že není zasněžený (tedy je vidět, je zřejmá jeho úprava), jeho zobrazení je tak nejvhodnější. Nevýhodou je podle mne pouze horší kvalita fotografie kterou jste navrhl na smazání celkově. Ale neviděl bych to na smazání kvůli kvalitě. Proti Vašemu důvodu že jde o "family photo", bych řekl pouze, že nejde o žádné selfpromo, selfie a smazal bych ho až bude k dispozici skutečně vhodnější obrázek, vhodnější i jako vydatný zdroj informací (což hromada sněhu není). Z ostatních fotografií nerozeznám dobře (spíše vůbec) druh použitého materiálu (zde jasně smrk), výzdobu (zde lesklý papír) a neodhadnu skutečnou velikost (krámek ji zkresluje). Tyto informace jsou velmi podstatné a mohou pomoci tvůrcům podobných věnců, to je důvod pro použití právě této fotografie s dětmi na hesle "Adventní věnec". Chápu že není tak malebná jako sníh na adventním věnci, ale heslo se netýká sněhu na věnci. Pokud tohle pochopíte, žádost o smazání stáhnete. Nevidím to jako family foto, ale chápu že šaškující děti Vás osobně mohou iritovat (nebo naopak, podle povahy a nálady). Fotografii kterou jste poslal k smazání bych z uvedených důvodů klidně i upravil, pokud je to skutečně nutné, ale tento týden jsem zcela vytížen. Dále mi deset dní? Díky za možnost použít češtinu. The Advent wreath in Kaufbeuren is unique and this rite is for children, so children are metioned in text and image. There is no issue about "self-promotion" and "family photos". - 1) You might try to find out who is the artist/creator of that mural and ask him for permission. 2) You might try to contact the Vatican and ask them whether they are able (which would require a complete copyright-trasnfer from the artist to them) and willing to grant you a permission to release your photo(s) of these murals under a free license. I think that public domain status should be clarified on the image's page in some way, and it seeems odd to me that it would list Fabrice as an author and list a CC license when all he did was snap a picture; I don't think that's enough creative input to establish copyright. But these are little details, and I'll leave it to you guys and/or the closing administrator to sort them out however makes the most sense to you.
