Hello. It is almost one year and a half that I am actively participating in Commons maintenance. I regularly review uploads by new users and tag them appropriately, nominate them for deletion, or fix them. I have also handled hundreds of OTRS tickets. Furthermore, I review licenses especially those of {{Tasnim}} works. Responding to rename requests, keeping an eye on overwrites, and fighting vandalism are some other things that I do on this project on a daily basis. In almost all of these areas, having admin bit can be beneficial. For example, I can delete files which have already been tagged by other users while I review new uploads, or I can block users who repeatedly upload copyright violations despite warnings. Admin right will also help me with my OTRS work. If granted, I am going to use this privilege carefully and responsibly. Little by little, I will hopefully gain more experience, and then I will help out in other areas such as closing DRs, responding to AN threads, and clearing various other backlogs.

I am familiar with Wikimedia Commons policies and guidelines. I have read almost all of them (skimming the parts which specifically concern copyright laws of certain countries) and have translated some of them into Persian such as Commons:Licensing/fa. Of course, copyright is a complicated topic, but I can say that I have a basic understanding of copyright laws of the United States, some European countries, and especially Iran and Afghanistan.

At last, I should say that User:4nn1l2 is the second account with which I am contributing to Wikimedia Commons. Seven years ago, I had another account with thousands of contributions which took retirement. My clean start had nothing to do with Commons; it was completely a fawiki issue. If necessary, I can provide more details. Thank you for your time. 4nn1l2 (talk) 16:59, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Question What do you know about Persian nationalism and related discrimination (both in Iran and in fa-speaking Internet)? Incnis Mrsi (talk) 05:51, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This question is a bit difficult to answer, because it does not specifically concern Wikimedia Commons. However, let me try. I know for a fact that nationalism is strong in Iran. Persians, having the numbers, enjoying the memory of an ancient civilization, and tapping into their unique culture and rich history, have the upper hand in Iran. This has led to some unfortunate consequences such as marginalizing ethnic and religious minorities in the country. Regarding Afghanistan, while Pashtuns have held the political power for tens or even hundreds of years, Persians dominate the cultural sphere of the country, to the extent that virtually every Pashtun can speak Persian, but not vice versa. Regarding Tajikistan, since they have changed their script from Arabic to Cyrillic in Soviet era, I have been out of touch with them and cannot comment on it. Regarding Internet, I occasionally see nasty alterations altercations between Persians, Arabs, and Turks. However, I think that these things happen between neighbours in all over the world unfortunately. Having said that, I am personally far from buying the idea of nationalism. Politically and socially, I am left wing. 4nn1l2 (talk) 07:32, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Thanks, that was a typo. I fixed it. 4nn1l2 (talk) 07:49, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You probably know that Chyah/Sonia is de facto banned from contributing to Wikimedia projects. Even “our” check-users, exclusively Western, refused to conduct an own investigation for this case (unlike some other cases where wild accusations brought from other corners of Wikimedia were refuted); they refused even to extract and save objective data. Sonia’s identification with certain promotion-only editor was based on IP matches in the range spread over no less than 800 km in Iran. May we suspect lynching of an alien here? While this question is certainly off topic for this page, I try to give you a reasonably short answer. There might have been a severe mistake in this case, but I do not call it "lynching". I knew this user (Chyah/Sonia Sevilla/Rafic.Mufid) since 2011. She was not in the business of promotion for an obscure "singer". If I recall correctly, she had identified herself publicly as a Sunni Arab Lebanese residing in Shia-dominated Iran. I am inclined to believe her, because she was able to read and write Arabic fluently (which is indeed a difficult language). She also had some problems in the past (socking, block, etc) and abrasive manners. Not surprisingly, she was unpopular at the Persian Wikipedia, and some users (such as User:هاشم نحل العسل) were getting on her nerves. Despite my own recommendations to keep a cool head, she used to take the bait. There were several users who tried to help her but she would not listen. I believe she was both victim of and blameworthy for all these dramas. 4nn1l2 (talk) 10:15, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for using this RfA for broadcasting my grievances against Wikimedia administration. It was no personal, only due to your User_fa. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 11:54, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
