- Не вижу смысла в геокоде для данного снимка. Считаю, что нахождение прожектора в Михайловском парке в данном случае совершенно неважно (не знаю даже, зачем я это упомянул). Да и координат у меня всё равно нет. А под описанием вы что имеете в виду? —ViseMoD (talk) 04:57, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- Геокод необходим всегда, он сильно помогает, от геокода ничего не становится хуже. В Михайловском парке много прожекторов. Координаты легко найти в google map, там довольно крупный масштаб, а что они будут неточные — невелика беда! С описанием я имею в виду, что сейчас непонятно, зачем эта фотография. Почему вы решили снять прожектор? Что он подсвечивает? Есть ли какие-то справочные сведения о нём типа года установки? Или товарного названия? Или название его производителя? - На мой взгляд, слова про 15% серый — это религия. В жизни бывает и светло, и темно. Вот тут белый собор, на снимке он совсем не белый. Или, скажем, фотоширота у глаза гораздо больше, чем у камеры, поэтому приходится мытьём и катаньем загонять яркое небо и тусклые стены в более тусклое небо и более яркие стены, чтобы собрать их поближе к той самой середине диапазона. Вы сами заметили, что кабы сделать собор светлее, небо бы пропало; а в реальной жизни глаза делают собор светлее, и небо не пропадает. На мой взгляд, HDR это такое мошенничество, которое позволяет нам обманывать матрицу фотоаппарата.
- Пример белого неба и белой стены, когда нужная яркость стены убивала небо.
- Пример чёрного неба и белой стены, когда при нужной яркости стен выгорает свет фонарей, то есть типичный образец кадра, который не умещается в фотошироту.
- Пример белой стены в яркий летний день, когда притемнение белой стены приводит к тому, что зелёные деревья становятся чёрными, да и тень вся гибнет.
- Мне хочется оправдать эту технологию, чтобы вы не так горько думали о полезном HDR. Он реально помогает. Подробнее о технологии вот тут.
- И ещё пару слов. Пример вечернего кадра, который по мере сил очищен от оранжевого света, и исходный вечерний ужас, который многим нравится, а я считаю его враньём. Башня не оранжевая. Башня белая.--PereslavlFoto (talk) 00:11, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Дело в том, что обработка фотографии - это всегда компромисс. Да, при съёмке необходимо уместить тональный диапазон сцены в диапазон фотокамеры. Однако такие приёмы, как HDR не для меня. Мне эти снимки кажутся неестественными. Вообще-то говоря, глаз не настолько лучше фотокамеры в плане тонального диапазона. Да, динамический диапазон глаза выше, но когда он фокусируется на одном объекте и не двигается, диапазон сужается. И исходя из этого, нет смысла пытаться уместить в кадр, скажем и белые облака, и траву в тени. Если нельзя снять сцену из-за большого контраста, то можно прийти в другое время, дождаться облачной погоды, либо воспользоваться градиентными фильтрами, если сцена позволяет. Однако в конечном счёте, когда приходит время обрабатывать кадр нужно не наврать с цветами и добиться максимальной контрастности у сюжетно-важного объекта.
Если возвращаться к снимку с собором, то этими принципами я и руководствовался, когда обрабатывал кадр. В принципе, можно было бы осветлить стены, но тогда небо выбилось бы напрочь. С одной стороны, оно здесь и не важно; с другой - снимок становится неправдоподобным, что немаловажно.—ViseMoD (talk) 18:29, 30 September 2011 (UTC)- Рецензенты на QI думают, что надо умещать и облака и траву. "Wikipedia loves Petersburg" contest results are summed up
[edit]On November, 1 the winners of the contest "Wiki Loves Monuments" were announced.
It was difficult to select the winners. More than 450 users participated in the contest, having uploaded more than 4400 photographs. The Organizing Committee thanks everybody who took part, tried their hands, and agreed to make their work available to the whole world. There is fascinating work ahead of Wikipedia users: To employ the images to illustrate the articles in Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia which is available in 270 languages.
Do not get upset if you have not won. Look into Wikipedia articles - you may soon find your work there, to help people to visualise the buildings you have taken photographs of. Besides, we will contact you to hand you in a souvenir to recognize your particiation. We hope you will accept this sign of our gratitude.
If you have a chance, you can visit the exhibition of photographs, which has been organized in Saint Petersburg and shows some of the photographs submitted to the contest.

This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).
- In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
- In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)
We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:
