Question
Why are you uploading images such as Image:Ubehebe Crater-1280px.jpg without giving proper credit to the copyright owner? --Maveric149 07:09, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Cordialement. —FoeNyx 13:23, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Language tags
Hey, the edits you did here are not what the tags are for. They are to represent what language is being used for the description, not what country the thing from the article is about. Since that description of Le Havre was in English, you should keep it with the English template. Thanks Grenavitar 06:34, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Featured picture nomination
I have edited the Templates page COM:FPC but your nomintation still appears twice. I am not sure what is wrong LoopZilla 09:21, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
- I have fixed it. You place the template text twice in the previous template. See the history

--Zantastik 20:49, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
When you upload photos from English Wikipedia, plese do not upload thumbnails or reduced versions. I have deleted Image:800px-BahiaHonda florida.jpg simply because it is a small version of Image:BahiaHonda.jpg. Also, you MUST give credit to the copyright owner. Do NOT write "Photo of palm trees I took in Islamorada, Florida." when in fact you didn't. You are in breach of copyright law when you take the credit for photos by User:Ex1le. Thuresson 8 July 2005 08:02 (UTC)
- Once again, do not upload thumbnails. I have deleted Image:495px-Watts-towers.jpg and instead uploaded Image:Watts-towers.jpg which is three times bigger. Also, you forgot to credit the photographer. Thuresson 10:13, 12 July 2005 (UTC)
- You forgot to credit the copyright owner for Image:Backpalace Williamsburg Virginia.jpg. The copyright owner has that right according to GFDL and if you insist on ignoring that, you could be blocked. Thuresson 14:09, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Proposition d'image remarquable

Need to get in touch with URBAN
I am having a rough time finding photos of Le Havre. I was deligthted find pgotos of "Urban" on Wiki. HOW DO I CONTACT "URBAN"? Nurselen 18:48, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

Categories
I noticed you added the Lassen category to the images, e.g., Image:ChaosCrags 8444 45.jpg, I uploaded around 0500. I've been adding my images to articles rather than categories, but that wouldn't be apparent to you when you made your edits. Anyhow, I wouldn't have left them unlinked. I'm impressed with the images on your commons user page. Great subjects! -Wsiegmund 15:41, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Talk page clutter apology
Hi, Urban. I'm sorry to have cluttered your talk page with my image (see history). Je suis désolée. I thought I had fixed it but probably hit Show preview instead of Save page.-Wsiegmund 16:28, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Copyright tag?
For the picture Image:Christmas Arizona USA.jpg, did you take the picture and hence you are the person tagging it? When I went to the Flickr site from which the photo was taken, it did not appear to be licenced under creative commons, thus it is by default copyright, should not be on commons and I cannot use it on wikipedia. Could you please clarify? Thanks--AYArktos 20:39, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Category:Alaska
Image:Boulder Glacier 3737.JPG and Image:Boulder Ridge 3736.JPG are in Mount Baker Wilderness in Washington. I deleted Category:Alaska that you added to these images. --Wsiegmund 04:25, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Summary usage
Hi Urban; I wonder if you would be kind enough to provide edit summaries more consistently, please? "Edit summary usage for Urban: 1% for major edits and 2% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace." Image Tagging Image:ClevelandCitySeal.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:ClevelandCitySeal.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. False license tag
Hi Urban. You copied Image:Sand Mountain Nevada USA1.jpg from Flickr, and tagged it as {{self2|GFDL|cc-by-sa-2.5}}. Note that only the original photographer can release the photograph under the GFDL. I've retagged the photo as {{Cc-by-sa-2.0}}. Please be careful to use the correct license tag. User:dbenbenn 13:17, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- Also, I noticed that many photos you upload from Flickr are thumbnails. Please only copy the full size version here. User:dbenbenn 13:36, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Please give images good descriptions
Please give some thought to writing a good description of uploaded images. This ensures that they can be used. It also helps those that review and improve categories do a better job, which also ensures that images will get used in novel and interesting ways. Thanks, and happy editing!

You uploaded this image which you claim to be your own work. On the upload page you agreed to place it under a Free license but did not specify which one. Please do so by replacing the {{OwnWork}} tag with a suitable copyright tag. ← Körnerbrötchen - @ 17:07, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
This picture you uploaded in 2005, along with a number of others from Flickr, are tagged as non-commercial only licenses. I assume you are aware now that only free license images (meaning images that can also be used for commercial purposes) are allowed on Commons? Thanks, trialsanderrors 20:25, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Verrocchio_Giuliano_de'_Medici.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Verrocchio_Giuliano_de'_Medici.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
Thank you. Pictures of statues in Central Park
Image deletion warning | Image:Angel of waters Central Park.jpg, Image:Pilgrim Father Central Park NYC.jpg, Image:Falconer statue central park nyc.jpg, Image:King Jagiello statue central park nyc.jpg, and Image:Obelisk central park nyc.jpg have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry. If you created these images, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. If the files are up for deletion because they have been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

Hi, you have put a deletion tag on Image:San francisco movie.svg, but it is incomplete. Can you give a reason etc. so that the file can be considered for deletion. Thanks. Deadstar 11:01, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Pictures of horse guards in london
I was wondering if you could say where these pictures were taken, and what the cavalry regiment is? There is some confusion over the category 'Horse guards', which seems to be confusing the place Horse Guards (parade) and guards mounted on horses. Sandpiper 00:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.
