Kim Tae-ri Picture
Hello! Good afternoon, I got a notification that you have nominated the picture I uploaded for speedy deletion. May I ask why? Marie Claire Korea has marked the video as Creative Commons which to my knowledge is allowed to be use for Wikipedia. Please enlighten me on why it's different than any other Marie Claire videos that have been used in Wikipedia as well? Thank you. Sulley721 (talk) 09:13, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Sulley721, if you're talking about this File:Kim Taeri Fashion Film.jpg, then it was nominated by mistake. I've removed the tag after I noticed it. Please check the history of the file. Thanks.Tanbiruzzaman (talk) 10:25, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
- I see, thank you for the clarification! Sulley721 (talk) 13:16, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Congratulations, dear license reviewer
Hi Tanbiruzzaman, thanks for your request for license reviewer status. The request has been closed as successful, and you've been added to the list of reviewers. You can now start reviewing files – please see Commons:License review and Commons:Flickr files if you haven't done so already. We also have a guide how to detect copyright violations. Potential backlogs include Flickr review and files from other sources. You can enable the LicenseReview gadget from Preferences.
Important: You should not review your own uploads, nor those of anyone closely related to you!
Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.libera.chat. You can also add {{User license reviewer}} to your user page if you wish. Thank you for your contributions on Commons! Mazbel (Talk) 02:43, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi Tanbiruzzaman -- I've been working with Colin McDermott, the photographer who took this picture, and who has agreed to license it under a free license.
It was first published on a US National Weather Service website. If you look at the page, it's a page of public submissions. You can even see the instructions for submitting photos for inclusion at the bottom of the page: "Do you have some beautiful and unique pictures of weather that occurred in the National Weather Service's Milwaukee/Sullivan Forecast Area? Would you like to have them included on our Photo Gallery page? Please email your digital photos to the webmaster at: w-mkx.webmaster@noaa.gov" [1]
Colin's photo is the first in the "Tornado" row, as you can see by clicking on it.
Finally, you can see Colin's original video that this still was taken from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RbHX-wwARQ
What else can Colin provide as verification? --Rlandmann (talk) 11:46, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Rlandmann, Thanks for clarifying. Can you please ask them to reply with above things you said, so that it can be archived as evidence in permission mail. –TANBIRUZZAMAN (💬) 11:51, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- OK; I've messaged him to let him know. --Rlandmann (talk) 12:26, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
File:Dustin Nicholls aka Astra Zero.jpg
Hi Tanbiruzzaman. Would you mind taking a look at the file description for File:Dustin Nicholls aka Astra Zero.jpg? Since you're the VRT member who verified the license, you should be able to see whether it's the uploaders "own work". If it's not, the perhaps the file's description should be changed to reflect the email sent to VRT. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:37, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly, There’s Access to Nonpublic Personal Data Policy, so I or we can't do that, It's upto the Copyright Holder. After confirming their permission, I asked them to verify the attribution they desire, but they're free not to care. –TANBIRUZZAMAN (💬) 06:28, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:53, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
