Re: People First Party Logo
[edit]Hi. I find you from Taiwan as zh:User:Sleepingstar described. So you may carefully read my Chinese explanation at User talk:Happy60907.
For File:Taiwan orange.svg, the blue wave is still non-free, designed by the guy from that party; The typeface used by File:LogoPFP.svg is not sufficiently different from the original one as only the smoothness of the character was modified.
More important thing is, "I find the difference" is not a reason. Actually a free image should made completely independently from any non-free images, they should be completely unrelated, unless your version only consists of simple geometric shapes and/or text thus not meet the threshold of originality to be copyrighted. --Tomchen1989 (talk) 07:59, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Actually, the version of Taiwan orange image I reverted to (without wave) may still be considered as an image derived from the original one in some aspect. Because I must admit, when I made that image, I used the original TSU logo as my reference. I put the brown Taiwan shape in the orange circle as the original TSU logo does. I cannot lie. I cannot claim directly the authorship of that image. If my version does not only consists of simple geometric shapes or text, as a derived work of the non-free logo, it may still considered copyrighted. Fortunately, it does, so it can be thought not copyrighted. It is about the simplicity, not the difference. --Tomchen1989 (talk) 08:35, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]I noticed your recent edit to File:Democratic Party presidential primaries results, 2016.svg. Are you aware of this discussion on English Wikipedia? [edit]Hello Sleepingstar, I have a question rearding one of your nice election maps: In the map File:1998ROCLY by Party.svg Kinmen is depicted in an "independent" color but in the cartogram map File:1998 ROCLY cartogram.svg the islands are blue (i.e., Kuomintang)? Hello Sleepingstar, I intend to write articles about Taiwans National Assembly elections 1991 and 1996 in this years Asian Month in de.wikipedia. When I had a look at your very nice map, I noticed that there is only one Independent on the map (in Changhua County) but most data say that another Independent was elected in Kaohsiung County. Could you please have a look at it? Do you have a source for the detailed election results in the constituencies? I got the impression that Taiwans Central Election Commission has only data from 1995 onwards ([1]). Greetings --Furfur ⁂ Diskussion 14:05, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Eric-Chu-cropped.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Eric-Chu-cropped.png]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

[edit]Deer Sleepingstar:
I'm a Taiwanese who born on 1991,and watching your political maps for many, many times.I'm curoius about the map of 2002 Taipei City mayoral election,Ma Ying-jeou,the incumbent, wins every district. But in Wen-shan district, his popular vote was over 70%,not just 60%.So,if you have some free-time,maybe you can change that with a new map?
Thank you for your all hardworks!
