This is the second time you've requested a cat move of the hockey player. When I denied it the first time, I noted that English Wikipedia doesn't disambiguate Bradley Mills. (Brad Mills is disambiguated) Is there a particular Bradley Mills placename that needs the disambiguation on Commons that wouldn't be needed for enwiki? Abzeronow (talk) 00:36, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Abzeronow: I had already forgotten my first renaming request, sorry for that. But such things may happen after a couple of hundred edits, I suppose.
- There is the geographical object (factory hamlet) of Bradley Mills in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees in England, which has been on the maps at least since 1854 (publication year of the oldest Ordnance Survey map that I could find), and for which there is already the Commons category Category:Bradley Mills, Kirklees. No article has been written yet for this place for the English wikipedia, but if the name of the Commons category for the hockey player is missing a qualifier, there is potential for mis-sorting files. That is my main concern.
- I hold that if two or more different subjects share a name, their Commons categories should always be disambiguated no matter whether there are corresponding articles in any Wikipedia or not. You may not share this point of view, but let me suggest in this case that we put the category for the hockey player up for discussion. --15:10, 19 October 2024 (UTC) Schlosser67 (talk) 15:10, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, I've approved the cat move based on your explanation. Abzeronow (talk) 21:26, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
